Strongly recommend you cut a hole to access the water tank clean-out port. Over time you will get all sorts of “nasties” in the tank, and being able to get into it easily will make cleaning it far less of a chore. Worst case, you save some weight by removing the hole for access, and you can also check the access port cover doesn’t work loose over time and leak. Great series, keep up the good work.
Having now has it in place for a few days, I’m starting to see adding the access hole as a easier idea for general checking, than sliding the whole tank out
I appreciate that. Normally I do it all by hand, well the tools I’ve got to hand, so when I have access to a work shop for a few days I better make the most of it!
Videos are excellent ! I have tried to source bespoke Transit Mk8 flat pack carcasses in the U.K. but finding it very difficult. Plenty for VW variants and Transit Custom. If anyone has any information I would appreciate. Tks
Unfortunately I don’t think there are any flat park option for any of the Larger vans. But there might be some generic option for large van which could be cut down
Driver side rear 38cm deep x 42 mm tall, 123cm wide ( 2 doors ) , 29cm x 30cm x 63cm kitchen Passenger side ( fold up bed holder ) 50cm x 22cm x 123cm Do remember the transit roof is curved, they are less less tall at the back
I'm watching all your episodes in turn is there one about total cost of your van build? And do you have one regarding the Chinese diesel heater intall? As your heater controller looks different to the Chinese cheap one ? Thanks
Yes I use the “afterburner controller” which is a third-party Australian made controller which turns the Chinese diesel heater from simple to ridiculously smart. However at the time I was able to get one of the last ones to come into the UK before they maker stopped selling them to the British. So I decided not to make a video at the time on something that was not attainable by the majority of my viewership at the time
@@MispronouncedAdventures yes thanks for replying iv heard that there is a firm in Dunferrice Scotland doing them now I'm determined to find out more Thanks

Thanks Alex. Really impressed with your video series.
Thank you very much!

Good stuff Alex, its coming along nice. Little things making a big difference. This is a cracking build, I'm enjoying it mate. Cheers for sharing
Thank you very much. Hopefully I can get a fair few shorter but more often videos over the next few weeks with these Carcasses now fitted
Well this stopped looking like a DIY homebuild a little while ago and it really looks professionally built now. Can't wait to see the final product.

Yay
Hi Alex. Wondering what paint you used - water or oil based?
I would need to check, but I think it was water-based.
Hi Alex...what size are your overhead cabinets?
Driver side rear 38cm deep x 42 mm tall, 123cm wide ( 2 doors ) ,
29cm x 30cm x 63cm kitchen
Passenger side ( fold up bed holder ) 50cm x 22cm x 123cm
Do remember the transit roof is curved, they are less less tall at the back
Hi, What are the depths of your cabinets? it looks that one side is shorter than the other?
Indeed you are right, off the top of my head I think they are a depth on the kitchen side of 50cm and 60cm on the bed side.
