Thank you for this tutorial! For the question below, I had the same problem with this piece of metal (6:24) which falls when you open the case, it is important! It should be able to move and rotate to open or close the airflow to cool the lamp.
I believe it is for cooling the inner thin metal sheet inside the housing (above the lamp). Since it has contact to thin metal sheet and airflow passes from both the sides of that part, it can help in dissipating heat. Also it is thick and heavy compared to inner metal sheet so it can hold more heat hence effective cooling.
