Hi Scott and bart I have the same whiskey, time's 4, I bought a case of 4 and a case of oloroso sherry and a case of a case of the ruby port, 12 bottles in all, I payed about a $120.00 dollars each, and the ruby port pipe is my favorite of all, my bottles were made especially for spec's liquor, and are 750 ml,not 700, Billy walker is my favorite maker of all time. The boxes that hold these whiskeys probably cost 15 dollars each, if you see 👀 the ruby port pipe one, you need to pick it up, it's a phenomenal whiskey, even better than the other one's, have a great day and cheers brothers !!!
Sounds great. The heartbreaker here is that online they’re going for around $150 plus shipping, but that’s been the norm these days. I’ll enjoy this one vicariously through the two of you. Slainte! 🥃
This glorious rich mahogany malt has been matured for over ten years in American Oak Wood Barrels. The additional maturation in richly seasoned Pedro Ximenez Puncheons enriches the flavour, creating a sweeter, fruitier whisky. The casks are regularly monitored to ensure the perfect balance between our single malt and this luscious dessert sherry. Natural colour, unchilfiltered and bottled at 48%. - this is from the website. Must have spent 2 years in the Puncheon. (It was a big butt, I can not lie)
Great review! I’ve got one of the same. Good stuff. If you get a chance, their chinquapin single casks are really interesting as well. Tastes like a speyside flavored graham cracker.
Hey Scott....I'm pretty sure that the 4 digit cask codes are all re-racked casks by Mr. Walker and his team. The 6 digit cask codes are the original cask numbers from the former Chivas owners....so only those would be full maturation. Signatory Vintage has been releasing quite a few of the Chivas full term sherry casks lately if you want to try Glenallachie that hasn't been re-racked. The Whisky World has one in stock, a 12yr cask 900855. Cheers!
didn't i call it Scott. i knew Bart would see that SMWS and go right for it. Cant say i blame him. this PX looks amazing, hope you enjoyed it as much as i liked watching it.
Yep, as Ralfy used to say "In the UK they accept less, so that is what they get"... "in the US, they don't accept less, so they get more"! 🙂 I guess he would know, and that should settle the 700ml vs 750ml debate! Oh well, as we see the steady decline in the US, this is what we get. We'll now be paying more, for less whisky... Yay? But as always, nice video review guys!
Anybody try the Ralfy 12 year Oloroso at 66%? He was just talking about giving a distillery he likes a little marketing nudge. I haven't received my bottle yet.

At 3:29 mark: Bart's wife calling. Telling him to get home.
Bam!

I haven't received my bottle yet.
I grabbed a bottle and have had a couple pours from it. If you're into heavily sherried whisky, it's pretty fabulous.
haven't had that one
Mine got better and better as I drank through the bottle. Enjoy
Very nice
Shrinkflation 700ml, even the whiskey isn't safe... Ralfy said it was coming
He’s a profit
