  • Bodycam footage shows deputies restraining Taylor Schabusiness after she allegedly attacked her public defender in court Tuesday after her upcoming trial was delayed. Schabusiness stands accused of murdering and dismembering her lover Shad Thyrion in February 2022. “You went crazy,” a deputy with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office can be heard telling the accused killer after she asked what happened. The Law&Crime Network’s Sierra Gillespie breaks it down with WBAY reporter Brittany Schmidt.

If there was ever anything compelling enough you’d think this would stop anyone from ever picking up that drug. I’ve heard of people doing crazy things on meth but surly this one tops the list. Of course meth isn’t only to blame. You have to be a certain kind of evil to do something of this gruesome and heinous, esp as a female.

If you attourney uses that defense and your found “not guilty by reason on insanity” then you are placed in a mental hospital for the rest of your life- often a MUCH larger and harsher sentence/much harder to get out of than prison. So, it’s not a great strategy.

      @MSH786 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Yup, it seems like the dangerous criminals always lash out and attack their own attorney(s) probably because they’re the closest people to them during the trial and they can’t get close enough to the judge or jury members if the verdict doesn’t go their way.

    • @allisonjames2923

      Most criminals actually need their attorney & it’s the prosecutors & judges who are most at risk of being attacked. And a trial can’t appear prejudicial against a client & having them secured in a cell or restraint chair or something would indeed be prejudicial so grounds for appeal

    When you look at the initial interrogation interview with her and police, she is alarmingly aware of everything she did and was even able to tell detectives these things. I truly believe the whole smirking in court and attacking her own lawyer is a last ditch effort attempt on her end to at least get the, "I'm insane!" card and escape prison. Because what sane person would attack their own lawyer? Well, she knows how it looks and wants people to believe she is insane. the initial interview alone proved she was not insane by being so aware of everything she did.

My ex's mom works/worked in one in staten island...I helped move her office after she got attacked 3 times. if you think prison is bad, go visit an insane asylum. you get 1 hour out of your cell and booty juice is the go to 99% of the time. I'd honestly rather serve life in prison over being in a padded room by myself till I die and the only company I have is a therapist or a guard coming with the booty juice to drug me up and pass me out.

    “What happened?”. How convenient that she immediately forgets, but comes to her senses right after the attack. If she really didn’t know what happened she wouldn’t even ask what happened, because she’d have no idea that anything happened at all. I call B.S. it’s just a game she’s playing. She wants an insanity defense.

    Love how the entire audience and one of the prosecuting attorneys barely even flinch, like they're not surprised by her actions at all. They know it's all part of her show, trying to prove how incompetent she is to stand trial.

      that's not incompetence...that dangerously vile behavior she displays.

    Why was there only one officer in the court? We have at least 3 in every courtroom.

    How was she not in leg irons as an inmate in court? The fact that she was actually able to use her TOES (jail flip flops are presumably supposed to make it harder to run or fight) to snag the guard’s equipment…man.

    She intentionally attacked her attorney in hopes that she would be found incompetent to stand trial and thereby avoid prosecution.
