RealPars is really the best channel for educating. Thanks for sharing and it helps me much to learn more and more from these simple explaning videos. From Vietnam with love!
realpars: makes sure automation students passes their exames. great for a quick recap of the different lectures throughout the semester. specially in these corona times.... only theory no practical trial and error... thanks!
@@realpars well i passed. not in a pretty way. but passed. :) it's hard when you are a practical learner and work with aduino and 3D printers in the spare time. but forced to work with expensive Siemens equipment. and Corona didn't help. because that kept us away from our hardware.... doing marine engineering at SIMAC known for primary Maersk students, officers and marine engineers.
I'm recent graduate from the control and automation engineering. However I need to learn more and more tasks and your videos are helping me lots of. Thanks for your collaboration. I'm from México City so, at the same time that I reforce my knowledges I practice the English language
The most important topic is automatically collect data and teach employee how to work effeciently. In last years we found out missing competencies so it is very useful to improve employees skills into the level which will be finally integrated and maintained by them.
Thank you very much! Glad to hear that. Regarding your question, I am actually not sure about that as our video lessons are created by our Graphic and Animation department.
I thought PID stood for piping and instrumentation diagram. It’s ok now as I went back over your videos and found that is P&ID. Very confused for beginners. Starting an Automation and Robotics engineering course next week and these videos have given me a great confidence boost. Thanks
Thanks for your comment and sharing your feedback with us, Stephen! We always appreciate that. Great to hear that it gave you a confidence boost! If you have any questions or concerns along the way, feel free to reach out. Happy learning!
Hi RearPars! I would like to say my thankfullness about sharing usefull information about the industry vision. I hope that can create some videos to describe about OPC Server as well as the basic PLC system in factory! Thanks in advance :D
Hi Binh, Thanks for your kind compliment! Great to hear your positive feedback. We have a whole course series on OPC in our course library bit.ly/2nZMQbS and loads more on basic PLC! Feel free to have a browse around through our course library to see which topics we cover at the moment. bit.ly/30ZrxWq Please, let me know if you have any questions. Happy learning!
Power BI is a tool that certainly can be used for planning. as well as o0ther data-centric analyses. You will also need to collect the data that is analyzed by Power BI to have a complete Planning level application.
According to the pyramid...Where can I put an DCS (distribuited control system), at the same level of SCADA in the pyramid? What's the main difference between DCS and SCADA?
I would recommand to view at the website ResearchGate, there is a comparision between this both... To keep it short, SCADA is event driven and data oriented. Its used to monitor and control a whole process. DCS is more a local control. Its process oriented and state driven. Its controls a concrete process part. So I would say, DCS is more in Layer 2 - Control Level in use and not at the same level as a SCADA. www.researchgate.net/post/What_are_the_two_major_differences_between_DCS_and_SCADA_systems
Thanks for the video.. so you mean we can integrate the 1st and 2nd level also in scada.. But ERP systems usually have lot of verticals like finance etc.. could you please elaborate on this
Thank you for your question, and our apologies for the delay in our response - your comment must have slipped through the cracks. Absolutely, the answer is a resounding "YES" on both counts. To further enhance your knowledge, here's a link that offers additional learning resources: www.controleng.com/articles/benefits-of-integrating-a-mes-system-with-scada/ Additionally, consider leveraging your RealPars membership for an efficient and accelerated learning experience. Thank you very much for yiyr valuable vidios. Is there pissible to get one vidii to summarize the avilable protocols use in industry.. Actually i confuse. Also is there possible to get vidio regarding Modbus TCP / IP... How can connect different protocols into one pc... Thank you in advance for yiur fast reply.. Regards
Hi Osama, Thanks for your comment and support! I will definitely go ahead and forward your topic suggestions to our creator team. Thanks for sharing. Happy learning!
I love your videos. Great Job. Do you know what are the "telegrams" in the MES System? The MES Terminals are sending the "telegrams" to the Server? What is a telegram?
Hi there, thanks for your compliment and happy to hear that. The software systems that run at the level 3 are called Manufacturing Execution Systems or MES. This software communicates with all Level 2 systems at all times through bi-directional telegrams. The term "bidirectional telegram" here means communicating through sending and receiving messages. The type of communication depends on the design of the network structure. We can say level 4 communicates with Level 3 through bi-directional telegrams as well.
These historian applications are part of the Supervisory level, and the data stored is used extensively at the Superviory Level to monitor trends and at the Planning Level (MES) to determine inventories, product production schedules, and raw material usage, to name a few.
Its a good video, the only thing I am missing is the new trend to remove the borders between the levels with industry 4.0. At this moment this view is correct, but in near future, even the MES or ERP can access direct the field level (for example via OPC UA).
This Chanel have helped me beyond words, thank you very much
Thank you so much, Lucas! That's extremely kind of you, and we are very happy to hear that!
These videos are awesome. Learning so much about process control. Thanks for making them freely available.
Happy to hear that! Thank you.
best automation channel ever
Thanks a lot!
Agree
I combine those layers into 3, management, control and field in smaller projects
I'm a business student learning about engineering to get a general idea for my startup and your videos are very helpful. thank you

Great video! Can we combine the first two levels in the SCADA level?
Thanks for the feedback! Well, you can think of the first two levels as the subset of the SACADA.
Thanks for the video.. so you mean we can integrate the 1st and 2nd level also in scada.. But ERP systems usually have lot of verticals like finance etc.. could you please elaborate on this
Accurate informative video. Exactly how it is at my previous employer.
