Wow, that last note. I feared for his safety after that one. This young man is so gifted and great for him that he followed the call to share it. Bravissimo ragazzo. La tua voce é favalosa. Buona fortuna.
Congratulations, Gavin! He just won the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award for best actor in a musical in London. He won for his portrayal of Elder Price in "The Book of Mormon" at the West End Theatre. The University of Michigan theatre program celebrates your great achievement.
Right now he's in the natl. tour of BOM, (Book of Mormon) but he was in the original Bway cast of Thoroughly Modern Millie as Jimmy, and he was nominated for a Tony for that and his performance in the Tony-winning revival of Hair as Claude. Such an amazing person!
@TobyHine wait you dont mean like pre recorded right, cause theres a guy right behind him playing it on keyboard. it does sound like a crappy electric keyboard though.
Okay just found out he's going to be starring in The Book of Mormon tour so I decided to come here and see what he can do and after listening to this, I'm very excited to see him.
I agree. As a performer myself, this is a difficult song. Gavin and I have quite similar voices, and watching this video really made apparant the way I sing this song.
So, It's decided. There will be another revival of WSS, and Gavin will be Tony. I've always been a Larry Kert purist, but I would pay good money to see Gavin play this role.
oh man,,,i saw gavin 3 times in MIllie,,love him so..however..as a performer this is clearly one of those FUN songs we sing how we like...its a hard piece more for a lyric or spinto tenor,,again, unsuitable material for this fine singer.we love you GAVIN stick to pop musicals !!!!
He is great, but a bit too reliant on vibrato in this song. I feel it was written in a style that calls for straight tone on many sustained notes. Not a fan of the full voice last note either... just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
I was just looking for different versions of Something's Coming, now I'm in tears 🥲
God Bless Gavin Creel💙
Rest in peace, King, I looked up to you the most.
he sings EVERYTHING with such heart and purpose.... i will just never get over him... ever since Honk!....... just the best voice ever
The very best version I’ve ever heard hands down! Dude’s vibrato is sick.
Well now I’m crying. What a light, what a talent. 48. Cancer is disgusting.
Same. It is honestly hard to believe. 😞
Rest in peace Gavin Creel always
I saw him in “Hello Dolly” and fell in love with his voice. What a talented man!
GAVIN HAS LIKE THE BEST VOICE EVER!!!

I agree! He's one of the best, yet also one of the most underrated artists ever! How has he not won a Tony yet?????
good god i love tenors....
omigod i'm in love
his voice is just unreal
Well trained and strong. Awesome!
Great vocal and breath control the hall mark of a great singer
I absolutely adore him
@napili00 No one does ANYTHING better than Gavin. Such a wonderful artist.
Perfect head voice at the end...
:)
Nicely done one of my favorite from West Side Story
the placement on the last note is insane.
Awesome end. And the song is good, too.
Wonderful!

Saw him in Book of Mormon 2 nights ago in SF. I'm in love.
So great. That last note is Amazing! (or Amahhzing since he's accompanied by Seth) :)
Oh my god that is such a hard song
Enjoyed this...tough one to cover
my jaw is on the floor. it wont get up
Beautiful job.
Is this guy on Broadway? if not he should be he's been blessed with a true gift!
LOVE!!!!!
Wow. Just wow.
Oh! I somehow didn't know that! Thanks for the update.
Fabulous
I'm so excited to see him in Book of Mormon in March! :D
Loved him in "Milly".
Saw him in Book of Mormon last night. He was freaking incredible
He's playing Elder Price in the Book of Mormon tour and he's fantastic!
Good version
Hands down better than the film version and the two Broadway versions
I can hear him now "hello my name is elder price and I would like to share with you the most amazing book" he is gonna definatly do the role justice
MY FAVORITE SHOW IS WEST SIDE STORY
Seeing him tomorrow in Book of Mormon!
in London?
Please don't be sick for the Nov. 10th 2:00PM show.
The only objection I have is how obviously synthesised the backing is. Everything else is sublime :D
he's not in the national tour anymore he's in the west end version
@TobyHine mm yeah i must agree, its unfortunate they couldnt get some better equipment

Oh, definitely. No comparison.
THIS HOOKER. YES.

@thestainisgone485 It's okay - I got that it's live, it's just not a nice sound. Doubly a shame since Seth is such a good musician.
ELDER PRICE!!!!
Something is on your nose.
Nope, the U.S. national tour.
2 people are dead inside.
Or just insanely jealous.
Kari Kennedy both!
anno.ying

i dont like his high notes :/
