I read bad reviews too but it's my favorite movie so I probably would've loved it regardless haha. They changed some stuff from the Broadway production before touring (aerial effects instead of skates and some song changes) and I saw it in December and enjoyed it but again I'm a huge fan.

It’s crazy to hear Sierra not singing super high like she does as Christine. That’s the only other character I’ve heard her play. Very different singing wise. But she’s so adorable and fun as Ariel
I dont know why people complain so much about the costumes. I think they're quite fitting and all interesting. I've seen other tries in other countries and all others failed.

It's stylized to mimic heightened silhouettes and ocean shapes. They mimic barnacles. They also show their feet to label the distinction of beings with legs.
Maybe in some productions two actresses can portray Ariel alternating during different shows, and one of the two can do ASL and the other can be Ariel's interpreter (at times when she loses her voice)

When you are translating a 90 minute film into to a 2 and half hour stage play you have add more scenes and moments to fill the time. I think this is the best of the new songs that were written for the Broadway version and Sierra's interpretation is perfect. I get it you are biased towards the film version but this isn't trying to be like the film so get over it.

Came here to see this masterpiece of musical , I’ m watching the live action and it’s really ugly and boring. The broadway musical captured all the magic while the live action is a mediocre movie.
It's a lazy and cynical device. The film is much more effecting with her silent. It would have been harder to accomplish on stage but not impossible, this is lazy theatre making.
Ian Smith however if Sierra was actually silent during the parts she sings in land, we would have gotten way less Sierra, and for the sake of the show, we needed more singing

Ian Smith I actually think that it was fantastic they added this in. Same with the quartet, it's great that they added them in. I honestly don't see how it's lazy, and i mean those songs are both really amazing. And I mean, emotions can really only tell so much

I think the reason why the show closed was because Sierra wasn't in the show anymore-her performance really was what kept the show going
