Wish you had a parts store next door, so you/we wouldn't have to wait for a parts delivery! It's soo damn interesting to watch all the repairs and your dialogue of the entire process, but then having to wait for parts. Duffy, make a "wish list of tools," I think your viewers would be interested in viewing the list! I'm ready for the cutter, & the 7520 to scream back to life.
when I worked on aircraft for Canadair they started using loctite back in the early 80's. The was only 2 types back then, red and blue. The red was the lock type and the blue raised the torque value by 10 lbs. I went to a seminar when it first came out and the demonstration showed the loctite held the nut and bolt while the lock washer failed and a cotter pin failed. The loctite back then was not sold to the public but I borrowed some to use on my 1970 Formula 400
As our service rep from claas would say, when I was chasing them all over New England, all claas parts are made with smoke in them, when the smoke comes out, the part is junk lol
I’m sure you have used them before but I got some reverse drill bits that also work awesome for getting out broken bolts. As always WORK SAFE 🇺🇸🇺🇸😎😎. HI YENKO !!!!
I'm anxious for you to get into corn too but I would prefer all the parts get there and installed. Plus, you need to get the blade on the 7520, a couple more days and you would start corn in a better place.
Hi Duffy I would be surprised if those shot bearings would stop the drums turning. You do know that they have friction clutches on them? There is one friction disc under each drum as well as the ones on the spring pack on top. My experience of the 4500 is that it's when the friction discs are worn is when it gets easier and easier to stop a drum. The small ones seem easier to wear out because of the design, where they also have to handle the 2 rows coming in from the outside too. Apologies if you already knew about the friction discs. Oh and if you didn't know the clutches are pre set with Belleville springs. Just wind the nuts all the way down to release the tension and wriggle them up and out. Take guides off from around the drum you are working on and lift it out. Throw new plates in after cleaning all the metalwork up with Emery cloth and your away. Not a bad job if you have to do it.
Good input. The drum spins correctly. Has a vibration or something off that causes the bolts to loosen up under it and vibrate the housing. Any thoughts on that?
@@DuffyAg What state are the drive dogs and bearings like where the header folds up? As you know there is a lot of torque going down those drivelines to get it spinning!!
@@DuffyAg I’m sure you already looked it over, but I would double check the bottom knives that cut the stalk. If one is bent or has a chunk missing, it could throw off balance and vibrate
Locktite 420. is the best super glue they sell. I was told someone at locktite, choose that number because the glue was awesome lol not sure if I believe it, but out of all the Super glue we have used over the years the 420 is the best hands down. You better make sure you want the two things your gluing, is something your never going to try and remove. Also it's great for first aide, my ex used to bring a first aide with her every where she went and always took my 420 because the hell with STI he's that stuff is awesome. The down fall which is a big one is that it burns like you have never felt before , for a good five minutes. I would rather share my tooth brush with a democrats that pour that stuff in a bad cut ....... But the sh*t works let me tell you.
That Kemper head is way better than chain. Row independent is the way to go. Your doggie is aways looking for ways to help!
