Our son-in-law is a fireman. We are very proud of him. He started when he was 18 years old. We fail sometimes tell our fireman how we appreciate them. Just like our police and Militay, we must always include our fireman to honor and thank them. God bless Sam!!
This was a lovely video! A bit of Sam working, a lot of fur babies.❤ it was fun being reminded of all the backstories of the menagerie.. It definitely should be released for public viewing. (You really underestimate yourself,Becca!) 🤗 🥰
There is only one word for this video, LOVE! Your love for ALL the animals, Sam's love for you.. All the animals are living their best lives, all are free range and getting on with one another. Good luck Sam with the fire brigade, I do hope you pass the training.
Such a wonderfully done video, Bec - thanks so much for taking this on when you weren't feeling up to par. It was great to see a bit of Sam at the beginning, and looking forward to his return home. Blessings to you all, and good health too!
Becks, the video was great thank you for making it for us especially when you were feeling rough. Lovely to hear about the animals, they have all found a wonderful home with your family. Xx
You are such a trooper Becky. Wonderful wife and worker fantastic mum to your children and an amazing mum to all your animals. Well done Becky you have done a brilliant job while Sam’s been away. Love the videos. Love to you all ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Gosh, the idea of a ‘Sam’ finding his way towards me is a dream. You two are working together to create something so special in a world that at times seems kind of heartless. My mamma just passed 2 weeks ago from Alzheimer’s. The politics here in the US is depressing. I found your channel at the right time. Your videos are refilling my cup. So thrilled for your fam❤ Darci~Phoenix Arizona USA
I remember well when Toby was gelded. You were so distraught when it wasn't as straightforward as hoped for. Look at your lovely boy now with his gorgeous girl Tilly. This is a lovely vlog Bec, please have more belief in yourself ❤ This must have been a trying week with Sam away training and you not feeling well. I've been worrying about the storm heading your way and hoping you all are safe. Fingers crossed all goes well with Sam and his training, he's an awesome man and you two are a beautiful couple. Much love as always ❤
Yes it was a terrible time. I cried on canera then too! 🫣 I admit I struggle to film myself. I just worry that it's too much chatting. I can go on with myself 🤣 Thank you very much ♥️
It was wonderful hearing the background of all your fur family. And I totally understand your feelings about Sam and how he’s been doing so much to make this life with you and your children. I have one of those kind of husbands as well. We’ve been married 56 years and he’s been the best husband, father, and grandfather I could have ever been Blessed with. I think it’s because he was a farm boy. He knows how to work hard so helping out with house chores and children is nothing to him. We didn’t wind up on a farm sadly but we have had a wonderful life. He’s nearly 80 and he’s my best friend. Your thoughts about Sam really really touched my heart. ❤️ Have a great week and get better.
Thank you. Yes Sam is such a great man. I'm do proud of him and all he does for us. So glad to hear your story and that he's still your best friend. ♥️
Bec, that was a lovely video . Cried with you as we also lost our dog ( border collie ) in lockdown and unfortunately our new collie has a degenerative brain disorder so cannot run like a normal dog and watching Nell round the animals up is beautiful but always makes me emotional. You , Sam and the kids do a great job looking after all the animals and a sterling job on the homestead . I wish you all the luck with your new lives in Ireland, you thoroughly deserve it , wish there were more people like you 😊
Aww feel for you. It's awful losing a pet. So sorry to hear your doggy isn't well. Animals are amazing to have but do cause worry and stress. I sometimes wonder why I do it to myself. 💔😫 Thanks for the kind words xx
@@theirishhomestead Our animals give us their trust and love unconditionally. I do believe that is why we do what we do for them. And speaking of unconditional love, I teared up when you described how Sam has given you what makes you happy. Truest form of unconditional love I've seen. God bless you and Sam and your family, fur babies included.
Lovely to see the animals free roam, they are all lovely,Nell is just a star. Glad to hear you got through the storm safely. Lovely video again, feeding us snippets of your family life. Thank you 😊
Becky, you have such a sweet and kind spirit. You take such good care of all your animals. You and Sam are so perfect together and so perfect for this home.
I love hearing your heartfelt thoughts of all the pets and their place in the family. It is sweet. They have been a comfort for you while Sam has been gone.❤
I loved this, was wondering about your critters, I too have ginger cats, Stewart and Ernie...NEVER A DULL MOMENT...now retired at 75 and living alone, I don't have the energy for hens or dogs, so I'll live through you Bec and continue to garden in my Florida home, fun having banana plants all around my house, plus pineapples and oranges etc...but I did live the good life with my husband/farmer/carpenter in Iowa...you and Sam have a beautiful life, I so love watching you build it and can't wait for you to be in your darling cottage...AND start on your veggie gardens...be well, from across the pond...!
What a wonderful treat, with a little bit of everything nice. Thanks for such in-depth looks at all your furry and feathery companions. They are fortunate to have you as their caretaker, looking after not only their physical well-being, but their mental well-being as well,.I loved seeing Euan with his affectionate guinea pig. It was great also to see Sam back working on the house, even if only briefly. Such beautiful Christmas decorations also to welcome Sam home from his training. I hope you get back to feeling great again before long. You've done an amazing job holding down the fort while Sam's been gone. Sam is lucky to have you and you are lucky to have Sam. 💙And Euan and Isabella are lucky to have you both.💙
Aww, thank you. I'm definitely glad to have him home. Only a matter of time til he's gone again for more training, but for now, I'm enjoying normality returning. I try my best and thanks for the kind words. ♥️
As others have said, and I agree, a lovely video. Your ideas for how all creatures, great and small, can live the good life together are working out well. Storm Darragh is coming this way too and just hoping for the best for us all. Take care, lovely family in Leitrim! x
That was a really excellent video Becs. It was nice to see Sam home for the weekend and to see you looking and feeling so much better. Thanks for the back story of all your menagerie, they all appear to be so happy with you. As you say, living their best life, as will you and your family before you know it.
Hi Rebecca and Sam you have created a beautiful homestead, your home is looking great. Best of luck to Sam on his final training as a fireman kind regards Sean
Well done Bec, you’ve done a great job, keeping us entertained , while Sam has been away.. always a joy to watch and listen…. Really heart warming to hear your story regarding “ darling buds of may” I used to love watching that programme too, and as family unit you have made job of following your dreams.. very inspiring and I hope many people get to follow you. ❤
My wife and I think you have been brilliant, you and Sam make a fantastic team and we look forward to seeing the completion of your project. It's going to be a wonderfull home. Good luck to you all, furry and feathered ones as well!😀😀
Oh what a lovely video Becs. I too loved The Darling buds of May. My dad was so like David Jason. Keep safe and I hope this next storm isn’t too much of a pain.
Another great vlog beccy. Brought a year to my eyes just going back on how you found Toby. He knew he had found his forever family with you. Hope you are feeling better now Beccy. Good to see a little of Sam this week. Xxx
Fab vlog again Bec. Its is great to see more about you all and what your life is like aside from getting the house ready. Hope the current storm is not too bad for you.

Sam, you look younger! You look fit, healthy and happy! I'm so pleased for you. You seem to have a new sense of purpose. It suits you! Becca, you are an amazing woman. You do so much for your family and your property. I love the fact that the dog tries to herd the chickens. You put in 110% each day. Give yourself more credit Woman! We adopted a Bassett Hound puppy born under a car. The mum was about 40 pounds, so a small dog and the puppy fit in the palm of my hand. Within the year the puppy was 110 pounds and was huge. I think Dad must have been a Shetland pony! I look forward to seeing you all next week! Be well!
We are our stories, and you tell a good ones. Look forward to more stories from the Irish homestead. Enjoy these weeks of peace and much joy. You are in a very good spot. Sometimes, a break needs to happen to shore up the resolve for the finish. Much luck to Sam on his interview stage. Hoping the glows and grows will be just what he needs to send him further down this journey for him!
❤❤❤ I absolutely loved this video!! Sweet Benji looks just like my beloved Bandit (aka Bandie the Rodeo dog) who passed away November 30, 2023. Bandit was a rescue who had been abused and abandoned by his previous owner, which I can't imagine how anyone could treat my sweet baby dog harshly. He was quirky and he hated his own tail but he was the best dog I've ever had. I had the pleasure of having him in my life for about 14 years before he passed. I had not been a big fan of chihuahuas before Bandit and never wanted one, and he ended up being simply the best most loving dog anyone could hope for. I miss him every day. Seeing Benji laying on his back being cuddled by you brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤❤❤
What a lovely video Becs hope you are feeling better. It will be lovely seeing Sam back home and finger's crossed he gets good news on the fire training ❤
I love watching your life Becky. Thank you and your beautiful Animals for showing me what I need to manifest in 2025. I HATE being in the city, it's been 3 very unhappy years in this town in Cape Town. I NEED to go rural again, as a matter of urgency! Unfortunately, in South Africa, that's no easy feight. It's just not safe. 😢 But I am determined to find a piece of land somewhere in the Western Cape and create a little paradise. I miss having wild Animals and farm Animals around me. Thank you for this very special video 🙏🏻
Sam, you look thinner/healthier and rested, I know you've been working hard, on the fireman training but its a break from the grind of renovating the cottage. Bec's doing a sterling job, keeping everything going - I love this chanel.👍👍
You are living my dream. Yes a terrific amount of work, but you are just such lovely people. Respectful of all living things. Thank you I always look forward to watching you. Xxxxooo Marsha From Montreal Quebec
You looked so much more relaxed at the end of the video. Obviously you needed some rest, so I'm glad you got some. I think Sam is going to be delighted when he gets home. Have a lovely weekend, hoping Storm Darragh doesn't impact you . ❤❤
Love this video of thanksgiving Rebecca. How wonderful that Sam loves you so much that he gave you your dream. It is never easy but knowing you support each other is the biggest part of the battle of life. Stay strong taking this adventure one step at a time. ❤❤❤❤
You and Sam make a great team, and your videos over the last three weeks have been fantastic. I love The Darling Buds of May and their idyllic lifestyle too. 😊
I have loved your videos as you have done a fantastic job. Very informative with a touch of lovely sentimentality. It’s like I’m sitting in the room or standing beside you outside as friends. Thank you
I'm sure you are glad to have Sam back. No doubt he did well and he can continue to add to his knowledge. Good you are feeling better. Easy to get run down this time of year. Adore your many animals, they make a place a home. Have a great week ❄️
What a lovely video! Really enjoyed all of it. To hear the background of the fur/feather babies was great. I’d give anything to be living a similar life with space, a real home, and lots of animals . It’s what I’ve always felt deep inside but I can’t reach it, and this year I lost my two beautiful cats, Thomas and Sophie. It has broken my heart to pieces. My Soph was 17. Animals give so much back. It’s hard work (I grew up with lots of different kinds of animals) I know, but they are so rewarding, and the love they give and you feel is so precious. Loved hearing your appreciation for a man like Sam who helped make your dream come true. Wishing you and your lovely family all the best.
Becky don’t sell yourself short. You do a wonderful job looking after all the animals, the children and filming. Thank you for this video of all the animals.Sam and you are a wonderful team. It’s hard to do it all when he is away , my Dad worked construction and Mom had all the farm jobs I helped as much as I could. Like Sam he came home did what he could then left to go back to work .
Lovely video and introduction to your animal family. You can tell they love you. I liked seeing Nell in the time lapse videos checking on everyone, and the chickens wandering through the house. It’s a pleasure to watch you and I hope you keep giving us updates on the animals. Take care.
A lovely break from renovation for us all Bec, a lovely insight into daily life with the menagerie, characters all. Having teased us with the kitchen garden layout and the raised bed, you should include a chapter on your composting plans. All the lovely animal bedding and manure must mean an industrial scale composting setup. At this time of year, moving forward toward next May and planting making rich compost should be high on the agenda. A hot heap takes a bit of work... Love watching all your videos. Thank you.
I just love your vision of the home youve created together with Sam and your kids. its a wonderful life you have there with all the freely roaming animals. I love seeing the hens wandering around picking up juicy insects and I love Nell. Im a dog person too, like you. Looking forward o your next video!❤
Thank you for sharing. Congratulations on almost completing your fireman training. What a wonderful choice for you and your community. Job well done working together. Team. Work. So important. Take care.
You and Sam are such a wonderful couple. You both are so caring. You brought a tear to my eyes, Becky, when you were talking about Sam. I could tell you were so in love with him and the life you all have. ❤
Fabulous video Bec. And you wernt wrong about the tears, I sat with my coffee crying with you. You are such a lovely beautiful lady and you deserve the wonderful life you have. Sam is gorgeous and obviously adores you. Live the life you love my friends xxxxx
Such a lovely video! Now we know all the family ❤ and don’t be so hard on you. We understand when videos can or not be upload. Life’s always happening behind the scenes ❤
Thank you for welcoming us into your home and meeting your animals. Looking forward to the next video. Well done Sam for getting through your training 😀 Stay warm and cosy xxx
Lovely to see you again Bec and also to hear from Sam and Euan. I remember the visits to see Toby and the distress it caused you. What a turn around for him, fresh hay and food, lots of love and encouragement , shelter, protection of the beautiful Nell, always on duty and nearby, loving care from you Bec,, room to run and a companion to run with, good food, and a caring family to "talk" to, Nice to learn the names of the guinae pigs/ rabbits and their backgrounds. Glad Sam will be home again soon. Bec, you are an incredible woman and Sam loves you, so he wants to do nice caring things for you. Don't think of yourself as unworthy, look at all the wonderful things you do for him, and always out of the love you have for him. Rejoice! Between you is a fabulous relationship worth more than words can tell.
You’ve done a great job while Sam’s been gone I have enjoyed every one of them. You did a great job on the rock veggie bed and also explaining the plans. Seeing all the animals was fun too love to watch Nell be so watchful. Please don’t apologize for your videos I think they are and have been excellent so sorry it’s been stressful for you. Hope you’re feeling better soon.
Sam is like my Todd. A firefighter ( mine is now retired), very handy with building and tools and a kind heart. Todd built our house back and his Mom’s after Hurricane Katrina. We had over 4 feet of water and he also had to serve his community. Just a wonderful man all around.
You have done an amazing job, Becky-with all of your animal rescues. The chickens are living their best lives, being able to roam free. You are a sweetie!!
Our son-in-law is a fireman. We are very proud of him. He started when he was 18 years old. We fail sometimes tell our fireman how we appreciate them. Just like our police and Militay, we must always include our fireman to honor and thank them. God bless Sam!!
Thankyou

I love watching your life Becky. Thank you and your beautiful Animals for showing me what I need to manifest in 2025. I HATE being in the city, it's been 3 very unhappy years in this town in Cape Town. I NEED to go rural again, as a matter of urgency! Unfortunately, in South Africa, that's no easy feight. It's just not safe. 😢
But I am determined to find a piece of land somewhere in the Western Cape and create a little paradise. I miss having wild Animals and farm Animals around me. Thank you for this very special video 🙏🏻
Hope you get that dream soon. Our neighbours here are from South Africa. They left 5 or 6 years ago due to it being unsafe.
Love it! Nice to see you Sam!!! Have a wonderful week!
Thank you for sharing the stories of your lovely family with us. They're certainly fortunate to have you and vise versa!
Sam, you look thinner/healthier and rested, I know you've been working hard, on the fireman training but its a break from the grind of renovating the cottage. Bec's doing a sterling job, keeping everything going - I love this chanel.👍👍
I am! I definitely needed the break fron the cottage.
You are living my dream. Yes a terrific amount of work, but you are just such lovely people. Respectful of all living things.
Thank you
I always look forward to watching you.

Thank you so much 😊
I do enjoy your videos. Must be a busy time for you Bec with Sam away. Best wishes from Susan in East Yorkshire.
Thank you for sharing your love of animals with us..and for looking after so many of them here in Ireland.❤❤❤❤❤
You looked so much more relaxed at the end of the video. Obviously you needed some rest, so I'm glad you got some. I think Sam is going to be delighted when he gets home. Have a lovely weekend, hoping Storm Darragh doesn't impact you . ❤❤
Loved hearing the backgrounds on all of the animals! They are lucky to have your family care and love! ❤
It wasn't difficult to watch Toby wiggle his way into your hearts. It was really wonderful to see every video, I loved watching it happen ❤️
I have loved your videos as you have done a fantastic job. Very informative with a touch of lovely sentimentality. It’s like I’m sitting in the room or standing beside you outside as friends. Thank you
Love this video Rebecca. Love seeing the animals and how happy they are. ❤❤
I'm sure you are glad to have Sam back. No doubt he did well and he can continue to add to his knowledge.
Good you are feeling better. Easy to get run down this time of year.
Adore your many animals, they make a place a home.
Have a great week ❄️
A lovely heartfelt video. Best Wishes to you all.
🙋♀️❤️🎄 Your sweet family is such a Breath of fresh air! Happy Holidays! Bless you all, your beasts and your children !
All those goodies from your animal hutches will make fantastic mulch for the veggie patches
Benji is adorable. I rescued a pug under similar circumstances. Alas, he's no longer with us, a real heartbreaker.
Very Proud of Sam for becoming a Firefighter! That is not an easy job; however, it is one that is very much needed.
Take care.
Lovely video with all your fury friends 👍🇭🇲🇭🇲
A lovely break from renovation for us all Bec, a lovely insight into daily life with the menagerie, characters all. Having teased us with the kitchen garden layout and the raised bed, you should include a chapter on your composting plans. All the lovely animal bedding and manure must mean an industrial scale composting setup. At this time of year, moving forward toward next May and planting making rich compost should be high on the agenda. A hot heap takes a bit of work... Love watching all your videos. Thank you.
Bec you are amazing never forget that. The love you have and show for your family and numerous pets is beautiful. ❤❤❤
"Living your best life" is exactly right Becky. Enjoy every moment. Wishing Sam all the best re his Fire training. Much love to you all. X
Thank you for this very personal video. Greatings from germany.

Fantastic job, It's coming along great. Storm Darragh is wild, keep safe. 🌬👍
Beautiful
All the best to Sam and his future job/calling. Lovely video, didn't realize you had so many pets, which is wonderful!
Thank you Elizabeth
You’ve done a great job while Sam’s been gone I have enjoyed every one of them. You did a great job on the rock veggie bed and also explaining the plans. Seeing all the animals was fun too love to watch Nell be so watchful. Please don’t apologize for your videos I think they are and have been excellent so sorry it’s been stressful for you. Hope you’re feeling better soon.
So proud of Sam!
Muy buen trabajo, me encanta vuestro canal. Tan familiar y tan natural. Muchas gracias desde España
I just want to say that you and Sam are doing a fantastic job I am just in awe of what you have all achieved Take care and have a Merry Christmas ❤
Great work, Bec. I HOPE THE STORM hasn't made too much work for you. I'm looking forward to seeing the windows and doors going in. 🎉🎉
You're putting up some fantastic videos - Of course, I do love animals, so naturally I love that part of the vids... Thanks so much for sharing....
