Illumi will not fight Hisoka because he will never fight someone who's stronger then him to the degree that he knows he will likely lose. Its ingrained in their training as contract killers.

never, hisoka actually wanna fight him, but illumi never wanna fight hisoka because illumi know his limit and can't win if they're duel on the deathmatch.
so if hisoka force illumi to duel, illumi will not fighting back.
and this was pissed hisoka moral value, he's type of psycho man who love and intimate and got turned on for deathmatch serious battle.
plus illumi had intelegent for doing spy business etc for informant stuff to trade for him

​@@unopaxiba this is an assumption. But it is a fact that illumi cant guarantee winning againts hisoka. They have a contract with each other, where illumi help hisoka but if hisoka dies, illumi gets the reward for killing hisoka. With this we can speculate illumi doesnt wwant to kill hisoka either because he can't guarantee not dying on a duel or hisoka is better to be left alive.

But even if they end up in a duel, i would bet my money on hisoka. This is based on troupe leader battle with hisoka. Not only chrollo had a manipulation ability like illumi , his manipulation have explotion aspect and even then hisoka still didnt died after their btattle.

@@somerand3711 couldn't agree more with you bro, aside from mutual need from each of them, until now we haven't seen the true power of illumi itself, only fraction story of it from his family and from the manga, What kind of power and skill he got etc..
Hisoka only get highlights so much because of his ambition with Gon, illumi otherwise just like to stand behind curtain just like other zoldyck family

I still can't get over that they let Illumi enter the competition under an alias.
Personally, were I Netero (and knowing faking a different person is nothing to Illumi) I would have still given him the Hunter badge with that terrible name on it, and informed the world that if you dealt with this hunter you were actually dealing with a Zoldyck, so he couldn't use it covertly
