I am cool with it being better and quieter than the original. Having the original I can take it out and listen to it hop and clank around. Mine should finally be here today sometime!
It's so funny when you drive it I am lucky I did not paint it black because as you drive it you would have gotten the visual of the real hornet even more and it would have really made it feel weird seeing it drive so smooth and nice! Thanks for watching.
Nice run, Steve, the paint job really shines 👍 We have to bare in mind that the normal Hornet has the motor in the "middle" (well, in front of the rear axle), while the EVO has it "far" back at the rear, theoretically increasing understeer 😊 Can't wait to see the Versus video, will be very interesting 👍 Take care 🤝
Thanks, That is true the gearbox and motor now hang out so far in the back of the buggy it makes the front float more from the weight distribution. It looks so cool in the daylight the paint came out super cool!
It did look like it pulled a wheelie a couple times, so makes sense that the front would be light. Might have to let off the throttle to get it to turn in.
Shes a beauty! Euns out great for a Hornet. I just built my Kyosho Beetle but the servo I ordered is too tall, and so is the ESC, I went with a HW Quicrun BL120G2 brushless combo... Possibly overpowered when it doesn't fit under the cover... We'll see after I order a less deep servo! Great vid and energy as usual Steve, keep it up!
Thanks this things funky to drive when your used to all the silliness you hear and see when driving the classic hornet. The kyosho beetle is awesome your going to have a blast with it!
Yeah it's cool! It has a lot of understeer so make the adjustments, I have a sport tuned motor coming for it also on amazon they are on same only 15 bucks!
I know right! it's even worse when your driving it, so glad I did not paint mine black because seeing it almost just like the original running really would have played with your head badly! Thanks for looking.
I had an original Hornet when I was a kid back in the 80's. I don't have it anymore but I do still have a Super Hornet in running condition. I also have an unopened Grasshopper 2 (Black Edition). I have an EVO in a cart but it's not released until the 20th : (
Awesome Hornet and video 💯 Not so sure about that transmission sound. Tight gear mesh? I don't remember my old Hornet losing speed that quickly after letting off. But I see this one has a completely different rear clip.
When I build mine I am going to put in a 23 turn brushed motor. The speed control that comes in the kit should be able to handle the faster motor. Thoughts?
Hi yes I am putting a tamiya sport tuned in mine soon! amazon has them for like 14 bucks right now!! The esc can run much hotter motors down to 8 turn I believe. I have ran 12 turn motors on the esc in this kit easy in my other cars. Hope this helps and have fun with it!

Looks great on the run and very stable.
Okay, I already had seen the title of the following video. So now I'm unsure.
It's great just has lots of understeer.
Great first run Steve! It was odd seeing a Hornet run without the usual clacking!😂
It sure looks like a winner!👍😊
Yes even worse when your actually driving it! Thanks HD!

Great run, no bouncy Hornet character. Great paint job👍🏼
Yes no bounciness! Thanks I love the paint job too!
That hornet looks awesome, thanks for sharing.
Cool! glad you like it! Thanks
Looks like a lot of fun and looks so smooth out there! Paint job looks awesome!
It's runner! It looks sweet in the daylight! Thanks very much.
It does handle a lot different 🙂with the steering could changing the toe in a little might help as it does toe out a lot by the look of it.
Yeah , I played around and made the rear stiffer now so I will have to see what that does, got a sport tuned motor coming for it also! Thanks
@@ShenRC A little more speed is needed.
The Hornet is all grown up now.! 😉 😉👍 👍 👍
Yep she's a beauty!

I see you found a low scratch area to run it! LOL! Looks great in the sunlight, probably looks even better irl. Keep up the great work Steve!
Thanks, Yeah It's better in person! it's fun seeing and driving a hornet without any noises or bounce!
Nice run of the EVOlved Hornet Steve! She’s a beauty.😊
😁👍
That paint job looks amazing dude! Makes me wish I didn't go box art with mine 😅
It's cool to see different paint schemes, I always enjoy seeing what others come up with also. 👍
So cool Steve i wish mine would come in that looks like a blast I might try brushless

Great run , you dud real good on that build!
Thanks she's sweet!
The paint looks great in the sun!
It really pops in the sun! Thanks
Super early Monday morning rampage run dude 👍👍
Thanks for watching guys!
aaahh they you arei was waiting for you to do this vdo
😁👍
Yeah, I need one.
😁👍
Weird seeing a Hornet not bouncing around mostly out of control 😆
Seems to run pretty good.

Hi thanks, it's just how it sounds there is no friction in the gearbox I do have a metal pinion gear.
That bettery is lasting a long time, the grass draws more amps than the dirt
Yes for sure! Thanks

@@ShenRC I figured 23 turn motor would be plenty fast and not burn out the ESC.
@@alfredyost7972 Should be good 👍👍
The mesh sounds to tight. Maybe its just the audio playing tricks on me. Cool Car!
Hi it sounds like that I am using a steel pinion gear? Thanks I like the colors!
👍
Thanks for watching.
It’s weird seeing suspension that actually works on a hornet
Ha ha I know it feels even worse when you drive it! LOL!!!
looks like a ripper
It's pretty sweet! Thanks
It's nice now but i'm sure you will tear it up
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
£200!? Is it worth it!?
If you like the hornet styling I would say yes!
That pinion sounds too close to the spur gear.
Hi you only can use a 17 or 19T pinion I have a 17T steel pinion gear in it that's just how it sounds? Thanks for looking.
@@ShenRC I’ve heard other videos of the hornet evo and it sounds the same as yours. Must be normal.
