When I was just 15 and he 19 my boyfriend bought me this record by pat McClatchy ( a 45) I was mad at him because I was working part time job in a record shop at the time as I was taking my highers and could have bought it half the cost of he wanted it. I had never listened to it not exactly the thing a 15years old girl wanted then I was more into the stones and Gary pucket We were sitting in his room when he put it on and I heard it he proposed to me that night. The song was always special to me but the proposal more so. It was some years later when I heard Daniel sing it that the words struck home and I realised how deeply they touched me when I marvelled at the depths of that 19years old man in 1968. The spoken word was not the proposal in his heart the words of this song were right down to fact my name is maria. Well I'm happy to say that he put a beautiful ruby and diamond ring on my finger that August and added a plain gold band the following year just weeks after my 16th birthday. Well it's January 2021 and I'm looking at my unique ruby and diamond trilogy ring unique because it was made in Victorian London and features the rose cut on not only diamonds but also central ruby songs speak the souls thoughts when human voice can't express this enough and Daniel is a master at his craft

We in the 60's wanted Julie Rogers Wedding to be played for our wedding and 14 years later in 1974 I met my Love and married since then and our children also had this song played for their Weddings I suppose the Tradition will be carried on by your Grandchildren
I just love the words to this song . My granddaughter would like to have her cousin play for her wedding March in July but we can't find sheet music anywhere. Any suggestions?
Great song, Daniel, I have most of your cd's and DVD's, but you make this song sound like a funeral dirge. It's too slow, speed it up a little. A wedding is supposed to be a happy event. I still prefer Julie Rogers' version from 1964
