Agreed and then some. No idea of who is even running the camera train. Is it the gut in the red t-shirt layered over another shirt or is it the Harry Potter-looking dude?
musicman8942 would the Harry Potter looking dude by any chance be the kid in the green shirt with headphones? Cause that's me. And no, I was not driving.
What i enjoy about some of the larger layoits is the obvious presonalities that did their thing in design and scape work. Very good and pretty interesting tunnel work in some locatioms.
Harold Smuck Our signaling system isn’t fully finished yet. Right now, there are only two real signals on the layout. At both ends of our longest tunnel. The others are just used to tell us what direction the switches are
nice layout scenery is great and sees there are still places to finish, notice tracks at some places need to be checked kinks worked out a lot need to read on how signals work to prevent any collision if this was a learning school to become an engineer a lot would not pass
Scenery is okay for what it is; there's a LOT of work to be done on ballasting. And speaking of that - when the ballast hardens for the love of all that is good modeling remove the damned track nails. The ballast glue will hold the track down. Seen this on far too many of these large layouts - great scenery but the track nails make it look like Marklin track.
Gérald Ratté the layout goes through many changes. We are still hard at work. We just got rid of all our DC equipment and have changed to a new DCC system. We are also redoing many bad patches of track. What you see here is an unfinished layout
Love the layout! The atmosphere on the other hand was VERY irritating. ...only made it half-way through the video. Also, the guy who yelled at the old man should have his butt kicked!
Michigan. However we aren’t in Redford anymore. We started in Redford in 1938, but now we’re in Inkster. Oldest train club in Michigan. Also, in this video, I’m the guy in the green shirt who collides with the camera
This is the way to NOT run a model railroad. Nobody seemed to care about what's going on. I mean - that train collision at about 20:30 is just one example. And whoever did those 'billboard' cars needs to go back to decal 101. Ugly doesn't begin to describe it. I wouldn't trust these guys to run one of my small switching layouts - I'd have no runnable equipment left.
Let me explain. Number one, the collision was entirely my fault. I wasn't paying attention. Number two, the "billboard cars" as you call them, are advertisement cars. That's how we make money. And we only run them for the first hour of the open house. After that, we run other things. Third, this session you see is NOT an operation session. It's an open house, where we run trains however we want. On actual operation nights, things are taken far more seriously.
Just because you're the oldest club in Michigan doesn't mean you know what you're doing. And being an open house doesn't excuse things either. If you're trying to show your club's layout off to visitors this was a disaster. I've been to several model railroad open houses and thankfully I wasn't to this one. Amateur night doesn't begin to describe what is on this video. And if you bothered to read the rest of the comments I'm not the only one who thought this was a disaster.
Aussie Pom shit man. I couldn’t imagine destroying any of my trains. Really, people like this just kinda sound really pretentious. It’s model railroading. The people commenting on this video have this holier than thou mindset where if things aren’t being taken 100% seriously, then we don’t know how to run a model railroad. It’s super ridiculous
You know, aside from the fact that you're trying to present your club's layout to your fellow model railroaders, It is really annoying to hear the other members yakking in the background when they should be quiet while your train runs through the layout at least say hello to us the watchers.
The session you see in this video is an open house. It’s not meant to be taken seriously. Open houses are meant to show off our trains to the general public by running whatever and having fun. Operation nights are taken far more seriously. Sorry if you misunderstood the purpose of the operation shown here.
This is great! Typical club operation. Running red signals... Head-on collisions... Elbows and hands on the track... ;-D

Awesome video until the 20:20 mark. They dumped the air and hit the floor. Someone is going for a pee test...
A+!
crash is at 20:15
My train collided with the camera
That's the same guy who doesn't read the red or green lights, it seems that his attitude is I'll run how and where I want. !!!!!!
Harold Smuck um... I do read my signals
Harold Smuck I was the one driving that train
Harold Smuck I'm the guy in the green shirt with blue headphones
Love the layout! The atmosphere on the other hand was VERY irritating. ...only made it half-way through the video. Also, the guy who yelled at the old man should have his butt kicked!

musicman8942 also, we are the oldest Model Railroad Club in the entirety of Michigan. Established in July of 1938. I think we know what we're doing

musicman8942 feel free to watch one of my videos of the club then. They show less accidents and issues.
