Careful with local food. Stay on rice and not much else when you have a stomach problem, and to avoid food poisoning. Also, bring some energy bars loaded with protein with you. Jardia is not really a threat at that altitude, especially when the water comes right out of the mountain and is very cold. However, drinking water in combination with a certain type of food is bound to cause stomach problems. The rule of thumb is do not drink water one hour before and one hour after a meal. You can have a cup of herbal tea instead with some lemon and honey in it, if such thing is available. Bring your own herbal tea with you, not heavy to cary in plastic bag. I'm not a big fan of their butter tea. May taste good but health wise does not sound very appealing. Also, if you are noxious, make everything possible to puke. That's a sure path to a speedy recovery. There are actually very few cases of altitude sickness, not just death. Chris says 1 death per 30,000 trekkers. Actually, a study done at the end of the last century showed that out of 276,000 trekkers in Nepal there had been only 10 deaths due to altitude sickness. Keep in mind though that in most instances these deaths occurred in the case of people going 6,000 m and higher. If it is your first time make sure you gain no more than 500 m (1,500 f) a day with an acclimatization day of rest every four days or so. Drink lots of water and pay attention to what your body tells you. And yes, Coca Kola is known to settle an upset stomach, and so is unsweetened strong black coffee. Why? Because most likely is in your mind. Science has no proof that has anything to do with anything else.

Awesome Videos , i later realized Chris looks like little younger version of Ben Foster. Peace :D
so it was always altitude sickness like chris said ?
Not “cross examining”, that happpens in a courtroom. You “cross referenced” altitude sickness with foood poisoning.
Has Chris been using the Sawyer filter?
Coke will clean a corroded battery post, that's how good it is for us.
just chew a piece of garlic for the altitude sickness.
