In the 1960s, this was the fishing spot for our family. A short drive from Raymondville on weekends is my favorite memory growing up there. Left after high school in 1971 to see the world. First stop was Vietnam. Never went back to Willacy County. I love San Diego too much now for over 50 years. Always thought if the girls wondered what became of Frank.
We have friends that are the owners of the hotel there with a campground in the back parking lot. The fishing is amazing there! Thank you for sharing you story with us, it made us smile and miss our friends there. Thank you for your service too! Joel, Deb & 🐕 Maya

Looks like great area with a upbeat vibe. Didn’t know they had salt lakes down there. Great drink with great friends can’t be beat and the price can’t be beat !

Mansfield is on our radar now. I can see spending an extended time there when we're full timing. Agreed, it would be fun to shoot the canons. Great brewery but Clayton's looks like the place to be. Cool mariachis.
Hi! The cool thing is the owners of the Sunset Motel & RV park are from Wisconsin & most of our friends we saw there were too! It was a nice place to spend a month at! Thanks & be safe on those roads- heard it's snowing again in Wisconsin- Joel, Deb & 🐕 Maya
