Back then TOTP was essential viewing for a lot of us kids as there was little else to watch. Only a few channels! I loved Pan's People! So wanted to be a dancer like them LOL! Great music and good fun seeing all those 70s fashion s, I wish I'd kept all that clobber I could make a packet selling them in trendy Hoxton or Hackney LOL!!
ESSENTIAL VIEWING , great selection of words😊😊😊
Hoxton one of londons toughest areas till the yuppies moved in and forced house and rent prices up to what most working class people cannot afford
These times for us teens were the best ever.. Loved the 60s & the early 70's. 7-25 pm on a Thursday evening, great music and Pans people ! man. we had it good back then.😍😍
🤣I LOVE watching Pan's people lumbering about as if none of them can see each other - fantastic!
The only time I've ever seen footage of Rick Wakeman with Strawbs.
Rick Wakeman with The Strawbs!
What a great show. Such talent. The women were so beautiful.
Those were the days when people could sing unlike today Mick Timson
I remember being 14 and these songs and these times so very well indeed when I lived back home in Leeds. Great editing out of the eternal scumbag, he was from there too, ugh!, he did our proud city no credit at all.
If you can see footage of Hitler, you can see footage of Savile. Get over it
Love Leeds. Went to Uni there
@truthseeker You saying Hitler was a pedo?
Pans People,...top class.
😂😂😂
Fantastic edition of a show at its absolute zenith. Great mixture of music and thankfully no annoying DJs in this edit. Saville really was a complete sick shit.
now then, now then
The Strawbs 'Hangman and the Papist' must be one of the most underestimated songs that ever got into the 'hit parade'.
That fuckin shit that was after it chirpy cheap shit
Father Ted! Chirpy Burpie Cheap Sheep
9:27 I just remembered where I was when this came out .........................Borstal allocation wing in Strangeways I was 17 and apparently a very naughty boy ...Not so naughty now apart from a nice pipe
Brilliant Pan's People dancing !.
Never thought much of them. Ditto “Legs & Co”
The singer from Middle of The Road had a great voice.
Sally Carr! 😉
And nice legs
Middle of the road awesome song the Supremes and the four tops cover not a patch on the Tina turner standard
BEHAVE. 🤔
Strawbs, still going, along with Rick W, Chappo from Family, still going, all of Rooster, gone but not forgotten.
Interestingly, Hudson Ford were in that Strawbs line up and the track sounded a tad Bowie c1969. Dave Cousins ran the Bromley Folk Club where young Jonesy used to turn up & play.
Use to.watch every week wish they would bring it back
The Strawbs appearing there I believe in what was called "Album Corner", where an "underground" band would play a couple of tracks. The Faces appeared once, also I think Foghat, but most obscurely the Grease band! (Without Joe). I think the Stones played Brown Sugar and Bitch too, but I can't swear to it.
Groundhogs played tracks from Split & Fairport Convention played Angel Delight material too!
Hakcyon Daze!
Yes played on that too and Atomic Rooster
WOW JUST SEEN ALL 4 PARTS!! . WHAT GREAT PURE MAGIC SOUNDS TO THE EARS AND EYES. BRILLIANT TOTPS FROM WHEN THE MUSIC REALLY MEANT SOMETHING THEN . WATCHING THIS AS BBC IN THEIR SHAMEFUL WISDOM HAVE FORGOTTEN THAT THIS IS THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF TOTP FIRST BROADCAST FROM THE CHURCH TURNED INTO A STUDIO IN MANCHESTER WITH WHICH STARTED THE FLAGSHIP OF ALL MUSIC SHOWS TOP OF THE POPS . HAPPY 50TH BBC WHERES THE 50TH TRIBUTE BBC ??
Where was the shows presenter?
Strawbs
fucking brilliant
Reminds me of being 7
pans peeps. gr8.
Back when 'My Name Is Earl' played drums for Middle Of The Road.
I can't help wondering if this was before the days of universally used auto tune!
Ummm yes it was. Surely you're being sarcastic?
Great video and excellent song by the Supremes and Four Tops. I know that both groups appeared together on Top of the Pops to perform it and other songs. Would you happen to have a clip for that show?
Rick givin his Hammond a wee paint job there.
TOTP was good, Ready Steady Go was ACE.
RIP MARI WILSON
Why RIP Mari Wilson I believe she's still alive.
Bab's gets my vote.
"Pan's People?" "Nice Babs" (can't remember whose joke that was - the Two Ronnies or someone.

no ladyshaves those days
No tattoos, body piercings, boob jobs, hair extensions or collagen filled lips either, women were beautiful and natural in the 1970's.
see these dancers....this is what passes for entertainment today......dancing fools and the lip sync
MIILFS
Where are the black people on TV show in 70-s ?Morgan Freeman used to say about shining american democracy throu 207 years... Mr. Morgan is a liar...
I mean this was the United Kingdom, Africans were not a majority in that country as opposed to the United States of America.
Antifa Marxist/"BLM" anarchist mobsters?
Edit somerhing out wil not make it go away snowflakes
Oh youre such a tough guy. Pathetic.
Yeah. I don’t get that either. We will edit out the presenter and thus all the allegations against him and the crimes he may have committed never happened...
Joe Dredd yes edit the monster out who wants to look at his ugly face
Pans People were lovely looking girls but they were very limited in their dancing routines, every week was the same even when they became legs and co, it must have been very frustrating for the girls working with this poor choreography.
I've read some interviews with them, and apparently it was hard labour trying to work up a routine with only a week to do it in.
I agree Pans people and Legs & Co never did much for me-just too choreographed
Pans People never did anything for me
Douglas maybe your gay
@@johndean4765 haha. Definitely not. Ditto with Legs & co.
