  • How to Replace Window Screen Mesh is my latest and most technically advanced video for screen mesh replacement up sell.
    Screens cost twenty dollars apiece to replace mesh only. This is a huge convenience and a great service and upgrade for the client and a very fast $20 for the company because of the methods I am using.
    This is the best way to repair a window screen if the bars are in working order.
    This is also the fastest way to repair a screen without having a Bow in the frame.

    I watched several of these how to repair the window screen, and this one without question is the best. A couple of guys were a real pain to watch. They were so intent on showing how quickly the screen can be replaced they failed terribly and left a mess. I don't care how many steps one should go through, to arrive at a great result. I actually enjoyed watching your video and saved it aside to watch again before I tackle this job tomorrow. I went to Home Depot to buy a complete window screen. The guy working there took me back to the display and showed me the kits for simply replacing the screen. He told me Home Depot doesn't stock the complete screen because the replacement kits are the solution. My wife gave me that "listen to the man dear, he knows what he is talking about look" . I can hardly wait to get started on this project in the morning. A cat wiped out the screen in the garage, so that one is first. Again thanks again for making this really great video. PS I subscribed for sure. PS I am 81 years old and appreciate all the great information I can get....Ken, Marina California.

    Great idea to clamp one end of the frame to a table when you're working alone on this. Thanks.

    wow LOL!! This is by far the top screen repair video on TH-cam hands down. Try to follow what the other quote-unquote Pros are doing and you will fail immediately because you do not have the physical coordination!!!!! this dude in this video shows exactly how to use tools to make sure the job is done without bowing unbelievably exceptional this is number one by far absolutely by far not even close!!!!! how did he even think of this absolutely stupit information.... pre rolling??? Who even thinks of that kind of stuff??? This guy will make you a lot of easy money!!! he is a genius LOL amazing amazing wow....... exceptional!!!!
    this is funny I have not done screen repair in over a year and a half or two and now the seeing this video I cannot believe the experience over 8 years that went into understanding how to do this right!! the other TH-cam videos are such crap, if your a window cleaner and absolutely wanting to make more money per job this is the only video by far on TH-cam nobody else is even close... I stumbled upon this in my video list and thought wow this was actually a very good video Even though I don't do screen repair anymore because we are doing so much window cleaning without me even a part of it!!!!...... Legend!!!!!!!

    Great video! Just replaced the mesh in three hail damaged screens. The first one came out OK, the second was better and the third was pro quality (IMHO). The roller tool
    cost me $4, I was able to reuse the spline and the screening was about $8/window. Thanks for helping out this long time do-it-yourselfer!

    This was my 1st time replacing window screen. I replaced one and it was so tight it warped the frame. Found this video, 2nd try was perfect (pre-rolling the groove without the spline did the trick)...THANK YOU!!!

      I appreciate it! It actually is the best screen video on TH-cam of course I pulled some knowledge from a few different sources, and then tried all of them myself.... but that pre-roll is where all the magic is LOL

    I have followed other tutorials, but my frame keeps twisting. I am not even trying to make it taught, and it still happens. I hope this pre tracking, and going back to the starting point after the second frame is laid, will do the trick.

    i did like 6-8 screen repairs today, my dad just asked me to do. i took it as a challenge and didn't look up any tutorials, just looked at the old ones and learned from there.
    what i've learned and what people should keep in mind.
    when he cuts the screen off, don't do it that long of a way, that's kinda dangerous to me. some people could cut themselves.
    2. i learned that rolling in the rubber piece that holds the screen down away from you makes it tighter. this way you have to do less adjustments as you do it.
    3. for smaller windows, just pre dig the channel along the metal piece. then add the plastic piece. this will give it a tight finish
    4. if unsure of what to do, sit, look, and think about how the window screen goes and it's easier than you think.
    5. don't be afraid to mess up, it's okay.
    6. don't rush.
    7. when cutting the ends please do it nice and slow bc u don't want to cut away all the work you just did
    8. i prefer going all around the metal piece with the rubber piece, seems to keep everything tighter this way.
    9. thanks for reading and i hope it helps.
    Trial and error is your best friend and you got time. you don't have to be anywhere else. you got this!

      This is very stupid and useless advice! There is a reason I have this video up trial and error is absolutely not your friend when it comes to screen repair, I'm a pretty smart person and exceptionally good with my hands and I went through hell with trial and error! Watching this 8 to 10 minute video is going to give you so much knowledge that you cannot learn anywhere else

    • @xWarPlays
      @xWarPlays 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      C & C Window Cleaning LLC. I did say that I did this for fun as a challenge right. If I could learn it all alone on my own doesn’t that mean I can give advice on wht to do and wht not to do since I now have experience? Makes sense. Don’t sit there and say that it’s useless. Some stuff that I talked about isn’t even talked about in the video.

    You might emphasize that you need to make sure the screen is not loose. Why not stretch before rolling in the groove or later, the spline?

    I just started adding this to my business, what is a good price to charge a screen if you don't mind me asking.

    • @ccwindowcleaningllc.4706
      @ccwindowcleaningllc.4706  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Sorry there's about five reasons behind everything I do so my answers are always pretty long,
      The quick answer to your question is $20 per screen but you can go broke get frustrated where your people down where your business down if you don't have these other steps involved.
      Step one is to limit your services to mesh replacement only and don't never add bar replacement no matter how much you want to or how much you think you're helping somebody.... unless of course you have a passion for screen repair and that's going to be your main thing.
      2. If you are getting into screen repair make sure you are advertising only the type of screen mesh replacement that you can teach to somebody else so that you're not stuck doing the work all the time.
      3. Have a minimum of 5 screens, the psychographics is that if people are cleaning their Windows they will definitely pay another hundred bucks for 5 screens replaced.
      4. If you are anywhere near a Lowe's Home Improvement that is the best place to get screen mesh because you get 25 ft for free if you buy the 100 foot rolls, AND if for some reason the roles are faulty in other words the mesh doesn't line up or the holes are too big in some areas you can return it immediately and not waste a day's work.
      5. ONLY purchase rolls that are 36 inches and 48 inches wide don't start purchasing rolls for every size screen you will make very little profit, there's a extended explanation for why you only purchase these two sizes because the 48 and 36 inches you can turn side by side or if it's screen is narrow enough to do two of them with one strip of 48 inch you will be saving a lot of mesh square inches.......
      Anyway have fun!!!!

    I have a screen table but my frame is still bowing. Am i pulling to tight on screen??

    • @ccwindowcleaningllc.4706
      @ccwindowcleaningllc.4706  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Make sure you have a pre roller like the one I show from the beginning you have to pre roll the mesh down into the frame, watch the video all the way through there are a lot of little meticulous things that are essential, like stretching out the rubber string or spline so that it does not pull screen from The Middle and then getting a solid pre-roll,

  • @marcophilhom6844
    @marcophilhom6844 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    where did you get that roller tool from?

    • @ccwindowcleaningllc.4706
      @ccwindowcleaningllc.4706  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wholesale screens and glass.com the other roller is homedepot.com with the razor blade that goes out from the end, thank you for one year of waiting LOL

    Where do you buy the tools? The mesh, spline and rollers?

    • @ccwindowcleaningllc.4706
      @ccwindowcleaningllc.4706  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Josh Dicus most of this you can get at the hardware store this roller I got from a screen building shop you can get them online at wholesale screens and glass.com.
      I recommend going on homedepot.com and getting their $35 angled screen roller that has three wheels with it , the mesh I get from Lowe's because they have it very inexpensive and 100 foot roll and 99% of the time I use the same spline that was on the screen, but you can get that at Home Depot, Lowe's also but Home Depot spline seems to be better quality

      Screen building "JIG" you can buy them online.

      Why do you use it just on one side? Does this help keep it from bowing? Thx

      @ccwindowcleaningllc.4706  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      one side is clipped and the other side needs the jig..........I knew I should have left the whole video on there, my wife said that the video got good at the point I started.

      You really have to watch the entire video I am extremely articulate in this one as well as meticulous, at minute 8:04 I show in great detail how to remove bagginess from the screen, another thing is notice how I have the entire roll still intact while I am doing the screen wherever you lay the screen roll start as I did rolling the opposite end and then keep the screen roll tight as you go this will help support a little bit do not pre-cut the screen is what I'm saying and then check out how I take care of baggy screens at minute 8
