I'm a huge Star Wars fan and it bugs me how the new Disney SW promotes the idea of strong women characters, but don't give them any depth in character to be appreciated by people who like good stories and well written characters. They present female characters in a way that they tell people why these characters are so great without showing the audience why they are so great. Even the way they promoted Captain Marvel as a strong female character, but didn't write her that way. I also agree with you on the blurring of lines between good and evil. This is the same mentality displayed by the media in the US that talks about "mostly peaceful" protests with raging fires in the background.
