What a legend this falla was; the uso tamasi'i Foni POLE'O! I so love this song HULITA, his voice & all songs! I used to listen to his music every day especially at night when I used to do my school assignments. I continued playing his songs even after I graduated from school when I started driving one of dad's wooden buses in Samoa. F. POLE'O's voice is so awesome, soothing & convincing! I love how he blended a few of his music mixes with some very old Samoan, Tahitian & Fijian melodies. I certainly miss listening to his music especially when I moved to Australia, but I always tryna sing the Ulita song, his Pacific remix & a few more songs of his whenever I can or at the Samoan Siva nights. I hope one of his kids or another uso tamasi'i has Foni's voice & talent [or even better] to continue his legacy. REST IN PEACE & LOVE uso Foni POLE'O🕊😇💮🏵❤🙌‼
He was not only a great singer and entertainer. He was also an outstanding songwriter. I interviewed Foni for an article in the Tonga Chronicle in the 1980s. He was emotional as he opened his heart and mind to reveal the story behind the song, and how meditated and reflected until the lyrics and melody came to him in the early hours of the morning. Over the years in interviewed many Tongan classical compels and contemporary artists. Foni stood out among his peers. Sakiusa Bulicokocoko of Fiji used to come Tonga and performed with Foni and Vaka and the rest of the Pole'o brothers. Those were golden years of arts and music in Tonga. What a legacy they have left for the Tongan generations of today and tomorrow.
That is very true. He is not only a singer but a song writer a great artist. His songs is all from his heart n soul. His voice is amazing. Rest in Peace Foni. From Los Angeles.
