I actually looked him up just now because I wanted to see if he was still active. I am in my mid 40s, and am NOT aging that gracefully, lol. I think I've found a role model in that respect. What a legend.
One of many favourite Reggae Artists. I saw Winston Rodney at the Commodore in Vancouver BC,...many many years ago. I stood three deep people out from the stage where Rodney had his drums set up......the floor famouse for bouncing, was in full bounce, and i lit up a Joint. of many, the bouncers were on the hunt for pot heads, nearly caught me lol Winston is a survivor and i thought he was going to retire 10 years ago but he is strong spreading the message of Jah and spreading the love that Reggae brings to my soul. Winston is 78 yrs young.

I hadn’t planned on going till I saw the lineup which wasn’t bad and cause the Spear was gonna be there. Who knows if I’d ever be able to see him again. But still wasn’t sure due to cost coming from Hawaii, gas costs driving from LA , hotel and food costs. I also was looking forward to seeing Beres Hammond, Lila Ike, Luciano. Well I thoroughly enjoined Lila Ike. Normally I prefer male singers but had seen her on a video with three other women and was impressed. Honestly I felt like she was da best.I also loved the Malian group. And really loved the Afro beats on the second stage. Unfortunately I missed a band on second stage as it was hard for me to keep who was on when straight.
I recorded everything on the Valley stage, it will all be coming soon. I also gave up on the village, though in the past i've loved it, as there were only a couple acts i really wanted to see down there after friday. I found the entertainment on the Valley stage excellent all weekend.

Still hoping to see him once again, not somewhere on a festival bill (where he only plays 8 or 10 songs), but a full show by himself in some downtown theatre... 👃
