Albarn was quite likely to be listening to a lot of bowie when they (Blur obviously) wrote this, given that M.O.R from the self titled album had to give a writing credit to Bowie due to lifting a bit from 'Boys Keep Swinging' off the 'Lodger' album. Can definitely see what you mean. (Also sorry if this message sounds patronising and you're a huge Blur fan that already knows all of this, just thought it might be an interesting bit of dorky trivia for those that don't!)
