I've played in leagues like this: guys with marginal athletic ability that take a beer league way too seriously. It doesn't make any sense to make a dangerous play when we are all going to work the next day. These guys all have "peaked in high school" energy.
Goalkeeper at 4:05 was an absolute disgrace, only on the pitch to try and break legs.

Was involved in a bad tackle myself back in the day, guy 2 footed me hit me so hard I flipped landed on my head and broke my neck. Needless to say it killed my Sunday games lol, but at least I can still walk, I got very lucky.

@Anthony Long it stopped me playing football and rugby for life but fortunately I just get soreness in the winter months. Go to chiropractor bout once every six months. I do miss the game tho.

one of my favorite things to do before the ref makes the call is to guess based off of action/evidence if the player gets fouled, yellowcard, or read card before its revealed

I played in the Hackney and Leyton League in the 70s and 80s. It was known as the Kick,Bollock and kick league. Never lay injured on the floor as someone would run over you.😂
i played in the 80th and 90ths in germany... we played hard ,but fair... but nowadays they are to stupid to play a good football, they only want to break bones or other ugly things behind the ref... i am happy, that i dont play anymore, because i dont want to have problems with my body for the rest of my life, for 1 idiot like here in the video..

Am so glad here in North Carolina the league are no tackle, sliding allowed, except for the goal keeper. Because, who the hell wants to pay to get bad injuries? Is bad enough that you will get injuries by just running and turning wrong.

football is not always such violence. But i stoped playing amateur football for such behaviours sometimes... Sometimes the referees are out of the game. Being targeted, or targeting knees, ankles, legs... for sport leisure... i was fed up with. So i have been a runner (marathon, trail) now!

Football should have a law to those intentionally hurt or injure someone as a murderer and through investigation. Imagine if someone accidentally become disable or death and leaving his family behind. Absolutely, but referees don't get 5 seconds knowing a dirty tackle is coming followed by an instant replay. Most of them would see that they got it wrong if they saw a replay, I hope.

This is why I dont play rec league in my area. Ppl are out here to do real damage and the refs don't care....like it's supposed to be fun and competitive. Shouldn't have to fear being injured and not able to go to work the next day.

All the amateur ref are the reason why the game got so violence. Listen to the ref at 5:15 ... because both side playing hard so the ref ignore both team tackles and let the game escalate. If my team got tackled like in the video all game, I'm punching the ref first thing after the final whistle
