Just wanted to express how much I appreciate that you've started doing 'side views' more. I feel like there are so many mid/plus sized women that only show one 'flattering' angle and it can be super harmful for girls who are that size and feel like they're supposed to have a completely flat stomach
yes I agree, I know I grew up in a world that never showed normal bodies and angles and it greatly affected me. I want better for our future generations!

Right! I'm struggling myself... it's interesting bc I actually felt better about my body 6 months after my toddler was born. My body bounced back pretty quickly... fast forward another 2 years and I'm actually 10lbs bigger and feeling so frumpy! Carrie is such a good role model.

I think you should do a try on with Levi’s. They have so many different style jeans too. Now , they don’t offer mom jeans but you can get 501 original jeans. Also, their high rise are actually high rise!

I love the trendy high rise jean look, but omg I cant stand how they feel when you sit!! If they are comfy to sit in, they are soo loose on me standing up! And I cant stand the digging into my stomach when I sit! The search for comfy high rise jeans is never ending
I have a trick for this. When you sit, you pull them super high right OVER the point where it is uncomfortable (so over the stomach basically). But dont forget to pull them down again when you are standing up bc so high it is literally eating your weewee. And of course a lot of stretch 😊

Hi !! I work at American Eagle and our curvy jeans do give a bit more than our regular jeans. When finding customers the right size in curvy jeans we always recommend going down a size!

I’ve just recently had to replace my favorite pair of AE jeans. I went to the store got the exact same cut/style of jeans in the same size. Luckily, my husband talked me into trying them on before we left because they were 2-3 sizes too small!!! I held up my old pair in comparison to some others in the store and the sizing was all over the board! I wish there could be some size continuity because everything is trending towards online shopping. Had I ordered those paints online, waited a week for them to come in, tried them on, and barely been able to pull them up I would have been devastated. My husband said, “damn....and they want to know why girls have body issues!”
I'm watching your video at the laundry mat and as I was getting my close out of the washer and into the dry, I noticed an older lady (mid 70s maybe) looking at me and then as I walked past her whispered that I shouldn't be wearing the top I was wearing (I was wearing Jean's and a crop top with a red flannel and was feeling pretty good about myself) her comment did kinda make me feel not great for a minute, but then I resumed your video and felt so much better about myself. I also a size 14 (use to be an 16/18 and have lost almost 50lbs) your an inspiration and love your videos! 🙂
We have similar body types and the absolute BEST black jeans I've tried are Everlane's cheeky straight. They fit pretty similar to the black jeans you tried in this video but no rips (and they make your booty look fire) And they're enough of a "washed black" colour that they don't fade all weird in the wash. I've had them for almost 2 years and they're still amazing! Highly recommend!

lol i have learned to just accept the pooch...i've been 200+ pounds, now im over 70 down and have been for a while but the pooch remains!!! we just gotta accept it be like that and a lot us got them. so thank you for showing those angles because i am always very conscious of what pants i wear due to having a pooch, so this was so helpful for me. you're the best carrie :)
i personally love the Aerie "play" leggings! super soft and stretchy, high-waisted, completely opaque, come in so many colors...and you can get them on pretty good sale most of the time!
My favorite leggings USED to be the cotton spandex leggings with the foldover waist from Target... ever since they stopped making them, I've been on the hunt for new ones... sigh...

Oh it varies like crazy by store! BTW 2,4,6 are “ladies” sizing (even numbers). They typically run “larger” than junior clothing, made for younger people. Walmart carries ladies & juniors. Junior’s clothing are generally odd #s-3,5,7,9, etc. And junior clothes run a lot smaller. A 3 is usually a 0, a 5 junior us about a 2 in ladies, etc. But this is why I need to try on clothes, especially being short and curvy!
If you love band tees and black jeans, check out Helen Anderson. She’s brutish but has a rocker style. I love her!!!! She’s been one of my favorites for years. She does best black jeans hauls and styling videos, as well as vlogs and other random videos.
Elisa Maurerbailey it’s true. A lot of their clothing is cheap, and from several “brands,” so I always have to try on their clothes. I do a bit better with one brand, like J. crew-most of their clothing is similar in size. Plus I think vanity sizing has increased exponentially. I sorted clothes from 10 years ago & noticed even the sizing then was smaller than now. It’s crazy....

I love how raw and real you are and you've helped me realize it's okay to size up in jeans because you have to! So many brands fit so differently and it's just a number inside the tag people aren't seeing that and i know I'd feel much more comfortable and confident in proper fits! :) Thanks girl

as an american eagle employee (trained jean expert!) I LOVED this video! I've noticed when I try on some of the mom jeans they vary in size a lot. the non stretch standard mom jean fits SUPER TIGHT so I usually go up two sizes if I get one, and mom jeans are my go to! im so sad the acid wash ones didn't work out! and I believe we have the black mom jeans in a no rip option as well now!

I’m a size 18 and the curvy high rise jean didn’t fit, but the high rise stretch did but i have a lonnnnngg torso, so camel toe was on patrol. But I’m DETERMINED. I’m going back soon lol. I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again, thank you for trying these things for us cuz my body type is very similar to yours & im a size 12 to 16 depending on the brand, so I can usually base my sizing off of what fits you which is really lucky!! Lol ily!!!
Those last few are so 80’s, wow! I’m an old lady, born in 1980 and those jeans that didn’t end up fitting you were exactly like jeans I wore when I was in elementary school. Crazy how styles just repeat themselves!
I went to American eagle a few months ago and I found 2 pairs of mom jeans that I’m in love with. I’m a general size 10/12 but I got both pairs in a 16 because I wanted them to fit like a mom jean, kinda loose but okay in the hips. Having to size up twice was a lot for me but I learned that having to do that was my choice for how I preferred the fit. It took me a while, but the size of my jeans does NOT reflect my true body size nor my confidence. Carrie has been a huge help with this and I cannot thank her enough ❤️❣️

This really encourages me to wear clothes I LIKE and stinking front tuck something even if I don’t have a flat stomach! I stopped trying American Eagle Mom Jeans because I usually wear a 12 or 14 (depending on the style at AE) and I tried on an 18 in the store and they were too small!! I think I’ll try them again after seeing you have so much success with other cuts in the mom jean 😊

You should try different sizes at ModCloth! It’s a little pricier / more business casual / retro, but they have straight size and plus size models in their photos and pretty extended sizing I believe. Lovely video as usual!

This made me feel so much better! I have a pair of curvy skinnies from AE in 12 and they fit perfect! Went to the store today, 12s didn't fit....14s didn't either...16s did. Tried on a pair of mom shorts in a 16...couldn't even get them buttoned. I've noticed major flaws in AE's sizing as of late.

i absolutely LIVE for the curvy mom jeans they fit my body so well! i’ll try on non curvy jeans every now and then and i’ll be shocked by how badly they fit me. i tried a 14 (i’m an 8 in a curvy jean) and they were still too tight in the hip and then super baggy in the waist. if you feel like jeans never fit you try AE curvy jeans! i can’t hype them up enough!!!

The dark wash curvy mom jeans are super cute and you said they were a little tight and you want more room I would recommend keeping them and just don’t dry them because then they won’t get tight after every wash.

Carrie, you should try Nuuly :) it's a subscription clothing rental service so it's better for the environment but you also get to wear (really high end) new clothes every month! I've been using it for 3 months and I love it but I'm broke so I need to stop now lol. But it's a great way to try out new brands!

I love love Love American Eagle and Aerie, but sizing for jeans/shorts is all over the place!!! My smallest pair is the stretch mom jean in a size 10 and the largest is the high rise mom short in 18!!! I’m usually a 14. Nothing is wrong with sizing up, and I really don’t care as long as it fits me, but it’s a little ridiculous.

Had I ordered those paints online, waited a week for them to come in, tried them on, and barely been able to pull them up I would have been devastated. I'm watching your video at the laundry mat and as I was getting my close out of the washer and into the dry, I noticed an older lady (mid 70s maybe) looking at me and then as I walked past her whispered that I shouldn't be wearing the top I was wearing (I was wearing Jean's and a crop top with a red flannel and was feeling pretty good about myself) her comment did kinda make me feel not great for a minute, but then I resumed your video and felt so much better about myself. I also a size 14 (use to be an 16/18 and have lost almost 50lbs) your an inspiration and love your videos! 🙂
We have similar body types and the absolute BEST black jeans I've tried are Everlane's cheeky straight. They fit pretty similar to the black jeans you tried in this video but no rips (and they make your booty look fire) And they're enough of a "washed black" colour that they don't fade all weird in the wash. I've had them for almost 2 years and they're still amazing! Highly recommend!

lol i have learned to just accept the pooch...i've been 200+ pounds, now im over 70 down and have been for a while but the pooch remains!!! we just gotta accept it be like that and a lot us got them.

i personally love the Aerie "play" leggings! super soft and stretchy, high-waisted, completely opaque, come in so many colors...and you can get them on pretty good sale most of the time!
My favorite leggings USED to be the cotton spandex leggings with the foldover waist from Target... ever since they stopped making them, I've been on the hunt for new ones... sigh...

Oh it varies like crazy by store! BTW 2,4,6 are “ladies” sizing (even numbers). They typically run “larger” than junior clothing, made for younger people.
Walmart carries ladies & juniors. Junior’s clothing are generally odd #s-3,5,7,9, etc. And junior clothes run a lot smaller. A 3 is usually a 0, a 5 junior us about a 2 in ladies, etc.
But this is why I need to try on clothes, especially being short and curvy!
If you love band tees and black jeans, check out Helen Anderson. She’s brutish but has a rocker style. I love her!!!! She’s been one of my favorites for years. She does best black jeans hauls and styling videos, as well as vlogs and other random videos.

Elisa Maurerbailey it’s true. A lot of their clothing is cheap, and from several “brands,” so I always have to try on their clothes. I do a bit better with one brand, like J. crew-most of their clothing is similar in size. Plus I think vanity sizing has increased exponentially. I sorted clothes from 10 years ago & noticed even the sizing then was smaller than now. It’s crazy....

as an american eagle employee (trained jean expert!) I LOVED this video! I've noticed when I try on some of the mom jeans they vary in size a lot. the non stretch standard mom jean fits SUPER TIGHT so I usually go up two sizes if I get one, and mom jeans are my go to! im so sad the acid wash ones didn't work out! and I believe we have the black mom jeans in a no rip option as well now!
THE DAY you posted this i had JUST tried on American Eagle jeans and i struggled. 😭 i want jeans so badly. I’m a size 18 and the curvy high rise jean didn’t fit, but the high rise stretch did but i have a lonnnnngg torso, so camel toe was on patrol. But I’m DETERMINED. I’m going back soon lol. I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again, thank you for trying these things for us cuz my body type is very similar to yours & im a size 12 to 16 depending on the brand, so I can usually base my sizing off of what fits you which is really lucky!! Lol ily!!!
Those last few are so 80’s, wow! I’m an old lady, born in 1980 and those jeans that didn’t end up fitting you were exactly like jeans I wore when I was in elementary school. Crazy how styles just repeat themselves!

I went to American eagle a few months ago and I found 2 pairs of mom jeans that I’m in love with. I’m a general size 10/12 but I got both pairs in a 16 because I wanted them to fit like a mom jean, kinda loose but okay in the hips. Having to size up twice was a lot for me but I learned that having to do that was my choice for how I preferred the fit. It took me a while, but the size of my jeans does NOT reflect my true body size nor my confidence. Carrie has been a huge help with this and I cannot thank her enough ❤️❣️

I stopped trying American Eagle Mom Jeans because I usually wear a 12 or 14 (depending on the style at AE) and I tried on an 18 in the store and they were too small!! I think I’ll try them again after seeing you have so much success with other cuts in the mom jean 😊

You should try different sizes at ModCloth! It’s a little pricier / more business casual / retro, but they have straight size and plus size models in their photos and pretty extended sizing I believe. Lovely video as usual!

This made me feel so much better! I have a pair of curvy skinnies from AE in 12 and they fit perfect! Went to the store today, 12s didn't fit....14s didn't either...16s did. Tried on a pair of mom shorts in a 16...couldn't even get them buttoned. I've noticed major flaws in AE's sizing as of late.

i absolutely LIVE for the curvy mom jeans they fit my body so well! i’ll try on non curvy jeans every now and then and i’ll be shocked by how badly they fit me. i tried a 14 (i’m an 8 in a curvy jean) and they were still too tight in the hip and then super baggy in the waist. if you feel like jeans never fit you try AE curvy jeans! i can’t hype them up enough!!!

The dark wash curvy mom jeans are super cute and you said they were a little tight and you want more room I would recommend keeping them and just don’t dry them because then they won’t get tight after every wash.

Carrie, you should try Nuuly :) it's a subscription clothing rental service so it's better for the environment but you also get to wear (really high end) new clothes every month! I've been using it for 3 months and I love it but I'm broke so I need to stop now lol. But it's a great way to try out new brands!

I love love Love American Eagle and Aerie, but sizing for jeans/shorts is all over the place!!! My smallest pair is the stretch mom jean in a size 10 and the largest is the high rise mom short in 18!!! I’m usually a 14. Nothing is wrong with sizing up, and I really don’t care as long as it fits me, but it’s a little ridiculous.
