So little Western influence yet the village guide speaks English enough to be understood and even make jokes in English and be understood by others as well..

They were taught by the American Protestant missionaries, the Thomasites. Their language has very similar rules of syntax like English.

Did you know that Tatoo originated in Philippines? Tribe warriors used it as bravery and victory and list it on thier body ..before Spaniards came exploring the world the were surprised of the art body Philippines tribe warriors have..

Didn’t seem like you appreciated Whang Od at all and the centipede tattoo isn’t to protect you from centipedes do your homework

The focus of the piece is not Whang Od, though she did receive fair screen time. This video is about the photographer, as it reads in the video description. Kirsten Bennett

How much experience have you had in Buscalan and with Whang Od?

The truth is, I was born in Buscalan and spent my entire life growing up in Buscalan around Whang Od. The tour guide is the one who said it was to protect against centipedes. Christopher Brock ended up living in Buscalan for 2 years completing a very in-depth Photo essay on the tribe. He showed great respect for the people of Buscalan and it’s culture, unlike many arrogant tourists who go there and stay for one or two days.
