Looking back at Majima's life in his 20s, it was all pain and sacrifices. He lost his eye and his brother in the same day, went through a whole year of torture right after, another year of humiliating as a money cow for the family, then went through hell and back because his boss thought it would be fun to make him the clown in his plan, and after all that, had to given up the girl he loved to keep her safe from his life. At the end, dude really went to Shimano, gave him the gun and said "just kill me already", couldn't even get the death he wanted because his boss had more plans to toy with him...
This game is so enjoyable to watch and see other people’s reactions. One minute you’re addicted to the mini-games and the other one you curse it for being so heartbreaking. Loved your attachment to Majima, Hannah! ❤
There's a lot of cool detail that was put into telling stories in this game that really helped the franchise. Awano's tattoo is Momotaro, who was known for slaying demons. He says his "ink has faded" though, giving the implication that despite his strength, he's not able to be a demonslayer anymore (It's worth noting too that Majima's tattoo centerpiece is a Hannya mask, a demon). Shibusawa and Kiryu butt heads, but their stances make it so that their dragon tattoos are giving each other a death stare. Shibusawa fights Kiryu using 3 styles patterned after ones Kiryu can use (Rush, Beast, and Dragon, though during this time Kiryu's Legend style has a white aura instead of red). Finally, Kiryu saying the gray suit "spoke to him" and that he's not feeling black or white anymore. The notion that he's no longer the unstained and amateurish clean aspiring gangster, but didn't fall to darkness, hence the gray. Love the amount of work the team puts into each game on every level.
The best gameplay i ever seen. Y have enyoyed all the chapters. You are the first person I see playing all the minigames....THANK YOU A LOT for this masterpiece. I already follow you on Twitch waiting to see more games of this incredible saga. Thank you again!!! KYRIUUUUU CHAN
Majima's way of loving women seems to be a traditional Japanese man. As a man, he protects women with his life, but he is humble and doesn't assert himself.
This has been a real joy to watch through in full. Your community is wonderful, and seems to be doing a great job in helping you experience the games in the best, most spoiler free way possible. I love the whole Yakuza series, and am really looking forward to continuing to catch up.
Thank you. Your range of emotional expression is very impressive. As someone who played the game, there is no way I can recapture the emotions as I did the first time. Thanks to you showing them so openly. I can at least partly feel it. Especially during the post credit scene when the music hit. Your eyes are flickering left and right searching in your mind what it could be. Until it finally hits you. T Just like it did to me. Yakuza is such a special series to my heart. I'm so happy zero went big and many people enjoyed it.
Finally someone that doesnt find majima insanity funny it Just shows how incredibly broken he is and how hard it is for him to cope with his emotions loved this playthrough
Well, Hannah seems to read the comments so ***SPOILER ALERT*** He's not insane. If you've played the games, you'll know. If you've not, then you'll know.
@@veecee101 yeah no hes insane in some way Sure its a character but him doing that shows how broken he is So Yes he is insane is a lot of ways he may controle it more with People he trusts and loves (saejima, makoto, kiryu in some way) but hes still very much mentaly unwell
@@hub_1.15 if the series ended at 2, I would agree with you. But from 3 onwards (there is a marked change in writing style), I have to agree to disagree when you say mentally unwell/insane. He says himself he is living life his own way. The Mad Dog of Shimano is an exaggeration of his true self. The moments we see of him in Y4 and Y5, and his added sidestory in YK2 show me his true side and not him "controlling" himself. Of course, he has been shaped by his past - we all are - but at no point is he prone to uncontrollable outbursts or unhinged actions.
It shows how broken he is but he literally said it, the only way to enjoy life is to take it as a joke, and to be hurt less is to go full on batshit crazy.
to this day, 0's story is still one of the best one for me. It was heartbreaking and felt really believable. The characters suffer so much (especially Kiryu in later games) even though they tried their best to do what they can at the moment, you can't help but root for them and relate to them. But what I find fascinating in these games is that their stories are not depressing, rather somehow uplifting even with all the conflict thrown at the characters. These games show me that there's little happiness in each situation even in the darkest days
Not going to lie, but you crying even harder at "Kiryu-chan!" and then saying "he's insane!" made me laugh 😂😂. Glad you enjoyed Y0 and are starting Kiwami 1.
Well, thank you very much for an amazing playthrough. It's been a wild ride, and I'm happy to have been along for it. You are an absolute gem. I have to ask, though... going in, did you think that you were going to cry over a game about buff dudebros with magic shirtripping powers who punch each other?
Congrats on finishing the game! Very enjoyable playthrough to watch - excited to see your thoughts on the next games, if you intend on going through those.
I will comment from Yokohama, Japan. I wanted to watch the story of Ryu ga Gotoku (YAKUZA) 0 in English for the first time in a long time, so I searched on U-TUBE and happened to see your stream. I always enjoyed watching them play happily. At the end, I was beaten. That's why I was immersed in being Majima even more than Majima, and I cried a lot. I've never been so moved in my life. It's a big big impression! DOUMO,ARIGATOUGOZAIMASHITA!! There was an oversized bomb in the last scene. The production team did it for YOU, Ryu ga Gotoku Studio. As a Japan person, Japanese, I feel proud and or embarrassed.....(〃▽〃)ポッ
when I'm going to die, so it's not a normal life, and please understand how I want the people I love to live in a different world than mine and be happy. From Goro
The only real negative thing you can say is that they *really* should have let you unlock their "final forms" for the final areas/boss fights. Seeing Majima's Demon/Kiryu's Dragon and how they're a mixture of each other battle forms/people in the story is poetic almost. Everything from Majima copying Nishiki's crazy fighting and Sagawa's "If things go bad, you gotta roll with it and not give up" hard ass nature. Making you complete everything for them is a bit harsh.
I love the denial, "majima and makoto become lover in yakuza 3, nishitani alive, nishiki alive, etc." I wonder if given the chance can makoto pull majima from yakuza world and forget saejima?
I went backwards with like a dragon for my starter and judgement had a sale! After that before 2023 ended the rest hat episode sales like we pushed for in game I’m finally starting 1 remaster and own the rest, I’m so glad I have a xeno series runner up

1:48:00 I didn't even realize this the first time I played - Majima checks Makoto's watch when he goes to meet her at the empty lot

well said, the game and the series as a whole has lot of metaphors and symbolism in it, enrich the characters and their conflict a lot more

So far Yakuza 1 - Hannah 0. Expected score after Yakuza 7: Yakuza 16 - Hannah 1.
