Budhanilkantha Temple, also known as the Sleeping Vishnu Temple, is a sacred Hindu temple located in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal. It is situated approximately 8 kilometers to the north of the Kathmandu city center in the Budhanilkantha municipality. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, one of the principal deities in Hinduism.
The main attraction of Budhanilkantha Temple is a large stone sculpture of Lord Vishnu in a reclining position on a coiled serpent called Shesha.
