  • I'm not claiming to be an expert here, but this is what I encountered while doing this repair. I saved a heck of a lot of money by doing this job myself and with better than oem parts. I did this in my driveway at home, no motorcycle lift or fancy tools here, just hand tools. It is so much quieter and safer now. I know its a long video but i hope you find some useful information here and are entertained. Thanks for checking it out.

That thing is known to come loose when you’re vibrating that much you should replace it and put a new one in. I don’t know why or why but it just wears out and comes loose. I’ve already put one in on my 03 that’s what that is replace it you might be able to tighten that up but usually just replace it because the holes or Wollard out.

I have a 2001 BMW r1200c. With the anti lock brakes. I try ordering a part on line but they only show me a pic of the rotor not the middle stuff that goes with it. Rea brake. Don from Canada Alberta

I ordered it through the aftermarket, it was far less expensive than the oem bmw part. The bike in the video is an R1200CL, it may be different than a r1200c.

I think the brand I used was EBC for both the rotor and the pads.

I ordered the new one and that rotor cost me 500 bucks from BMW

That's why I went aftermarket and it was better quality than the OEM BMW and way less expensive.
