- This video is a full tour of Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort. We go over the room, grounds, both pools, bars, Jack Lalane Fitness Center and everything Cabana Bay. Here you can also find a Bayliner Diner tour and crawl. For those that don't know, the Bayliner Diner is Cabana Bay's Food Court that offers up classic 1950s eats as well some unique options. We ate both breakfast and lunch here. During this stay we also learned that the Jack LaLanne Fitness Center may be the best gym in any theme park resort. I LOVE THIS HOTEL. I was there just last week, riding like it was back in good ol' 59!
This was the first theme park resort we ever stayed at. Completely agree, the theme and atmosphere are on point. Can't wait to stay here again.

Glad you two had a great return stay at Cabana Bay. Wish the lazy river was not broken the night we stayed 😅 I agree with Sam, the blank wall needs some hooks! I like the retro look too. 😎
The lazy river pool with Volcano view was one of our favorite spots. Real disappointed to hear it was closed on your stay. The 1950s is Sam's favorite asthetic and the theme here may have been one of the things that convinced Sam to go. Hooks and a little room update are definitely needed!

Thanks for this amazing and thorough review, friends! We have been wanting to head back to Universal and stay on property, and this is very helpful as we've never stayed at any of their properties!
We love the Universal Resorts. Even though they're smaller than Disney we feel they utilize the space really well. Cabana Bay is probably our favorite value but we also love Porto Fino Bay for a deluxe. If you guys ever end up going we'd love to hear which one you choose 😃. Thanks so much for the support guys.
I loved the decor. It's funny that some tourists from overseas don't understand the theme. It's an ode to the atomic age, a time that should have become completely normal but never fully succeeded in making us all look like George Jetson.
Staying here in a week, you would not believe how hard it is to find current pricing for Bayliner Diner.

@@ThemeParkFoodies That's something I never understand. Why do major hotels not post prices of food/drinks in their restaurants on their websites? It sounds like something they should do but none of them do that! Makes no sense.
I've always wanted to stay at a Universal resort someday. This one looks like SO much fun, I absolutely love the theming. The rooms look good! Awesome thorough room tour. "Do kids even know how to tell time on that clock?" haha! Too bad they didn't have a kreurig in the 50s but awesome there is a Starbucks! The sandwich is huge haha that looks amazing! That is such a great gym they have! Nice that they make the French toast fresh and that they have solid food there :) Another awesome video and review!! Thanks for sharing with us!
Thanks so much 😃. If you're thinking of staying at Universal Cabana Bay is definitely our favorite value. We also love Porto Fino Bay for a deluxe. I can confirm the new generation doesn't know how to use analog clocks 😆. The Universal Resort Starbucks are such a great amenity and something Disney really lacks at its values. The Gym was really impressive. Talking about kids not knowing things, I don't think many people got the Jack LaLanne theming 😆. Food was really good too. We really appreciate the support.
We were supposed to check in on Thursday for HHN. Had to cancel our plans due to Ian. We love it there! February it is!

This is BY FAR the most underrated hotel resort! Phenomenal service, pools are fantastic, beautifully themed, clean, and the 5 minute walk to Volcano Bay is a huge benefit. I’ve stayed at multiple value and moderate Disney resorts and this blows away the values and is on par with moderates BUT for insane cheaper per night. Went from diehard Disney to Universal as their doing everything right!
What I always tend to say is that I'm happy both Disney and Universal Resorts exist because I like how Disney uses the size of their property for theming. I have to admit though that Cabana Bay blows out any Disney Value Resort and most moderates when you compare price. I'll always appreciate the charm of being able to wonder through the foliage and architecture of the Disney Resorts but Universal/Lowe's definitely optimistize the space. I can't pick which I like more but I'd definitely say Universal's operations are smoother and more relaxing. We love Cabana Bay and need to get back to Volcano Bay. Definitely agree that this spot is criminally underrated 😃.
I stayed at this place in 2020. Parents will like that (if available) there are mini apartments for big families. They have massive bathrooms and a microwave, fridge and coffee maker in the apartments. I chose a basic room and it was very comfortable. I loved that I got a great view of Volcano Bay as it lights up at night! Don't worry about going in "winter." The pool and lazy river are heated but be aware that Volcano Bay will be closed in the "winter" months. Some parents made a mistake of not checking that. I went in January, which is still considered winter for most of south Florida and there were a lot of angry kids. The hotel posted signs everywhere telling guests that locals still considered this winter so the water park was closed. I guess the parents calmed the kids down by taking them to Universal, Disney or Dezerland, which also has an indoor go kart track.
We love this resort! Suites are big and standard rooms have great views too. Happy you and your family had a great time 🙂. We actually went to Volcano Bay in January. Most of their pools are heated but if the temperature dips below 55ish degrees it'll generally close or not open. Volcano Bay can also go under refurbishment around this time. Sorry you couldn't go! There really is so much to do around here 🙂.
@@ThemeParkFoodies Thanks for the reply. I spent four days at Universal. It was worth the freezing weather as there were never any lines over 30 minutes long. Like with Volcano Bay, there is the risk of maintenance at this time of year and some parts of the park were closed because they were installing the track for the velocicoaster. I really want to go back but because of Epic Universal, I may cancel that plan and wait until it opens instead.
Legit laughed my drink out my nose when Sam’s response to the lack of USB ports was ‘they didn’t have them in the 50’s’ 🤣 I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Cabana Bay burned us during our stay so we do not share the fondness that everyone else does for the resort - but we do yearn to try it again someday and see if they can recover the lost ground lol definitely agree that the pricing is hard to beat. Love that the lazy River is an option and that the bowling alley exists as an indoor alternative for rainy days. The quick service good also looked quite good, as quick service goes! Appreciate how they keep everything relatively on-theme throughout the resort. The gym is MASSIVE, definitely major points there - though, I don’t think I’ll be using the 75-pound dumbbells anytime soon 😂 Great tour, guys!
The quick service food here is actually some of my favorite. Sometime we crave just some bites from the Bayliner Diner 😆. Sorry your stay didn't go well and we definitely recommend giving it another shot here. The lazy river pool is great and I'd definitely opt for a Volcano Bay Tower room if possible. Pretty sure the Tower Rooms have more USB ports and a more updated asthetic. The 75 lb dumbbell thing is actually quite surprising because hotels often only go up to 50 lbs since any weight higher increases the likelihood of injury. Jack LaLanne theme is also interesting because almost no one gets the icon he is in the industry. That guy is one of the reasons weightlifting exits. @@ThemeParkFoodies Jack LaLanne was the one who got us into the fitness craze loooooong before Arnold Schwarzenegger or Denise Austin. He was one of the first fitness superstars. Legend has it he was such a fitness fanatic that he stuck to his fitness routine until he actually dropped dead of old age. Well, he passed away doing what he loved so it doesn't seem entirely tragic. All the big fitness stars of today owe their careers to him in some way.
By far our favorite non premier Universal hotel.

Even in 2020, Disney fans liked staying there. Saw a LOT of South American tourists staying there but half of them went to Disney and the other half went to Universal so at the time, the two big parks seem evenly split competing for tourists from that region...
Iknow, youpay for a volcano view hoping to get the towers by instead they put you in a room were you get a small view of it and others pay the same price in get in the bay tower or the other tower. We check in this tuesday payed for volcano veiw so we to will see what we get, we did request the tower high floor so .... and it was a Fl rate so not getting our hopes up.
We actually didn't pay for a Volcano view. Just paid for preferred view. I think Volcano View includes the tower but I could be wrong. Hope you get the room you want! We really want to stay in the tower one day. Hope you have the best trip 😃.

The Independent Theme Park Food Association has just released some important info to the Fla residents who are planning on evacuating due to Tropical Storm Ian : they have just confirmed that there will be plenty of lodging in the Williamsburg Va area...those designated hotels will also be offering discount tickets to Hal-O-Scream at Busch Gardens"....
