Ithaca Greece - Exoghi

Ithaca is an island in the Ionian Sea, and one of its northern mountain villages is Exoghi, near where ruins have been found dating back a few thousand years. More recently, a few hundred years ago, inhabitants fled low-lying areas in fear of pirates and set up the present location of the mountain villages. At its peak the village had a population of over 1,500 but today has around 200, which swells in the summer season. One of the many local festivals, St Marina's day is held at Exoghi. Lots of abandoned properties, many damaged by the 1953 earthquake, leave a ghost-town impression. The views are breathtaking.
Το Ithaca είναι ένα νησί στην ιόνια θάλασσα, και ένα από τα βόρεια ορεινά χωριά του είναι Exoghi, κοντά όπου οι καταστροφές έχουν βρεθεί πίσω μερικές χιλιάες έτη. Πιό πρόσφατα, μερικές εκατοντάες έτη πριν, τρεπόμενες σε φυγή κάτοικοι low-lying περιοχές στο φόβο των πειρατών και οργανωμένος την παρούσα θέση των ορεινών χωριών. Στην αιχμή του το χωριό είχε έναν πληθυσμό πάνω από 1.500 αλλά σήμερα έχει περίπου 200, ο οποίος πρήζεται στη θερινή εποχή. Ένα από τα πολλά τοπικά φεστιβάλ, ημέρα της μαρίνας του ST γίνεται σε Exoghi. Τα μέρη των εγκαταλειμμένων ιδιοτήτων, πολλές χαλασμένες από το σεισμό του 1953, αφήνουν μια φάντασμα-πόλης εντύπωση. Οι απόψεις είναι συναρπαστικές.

Why such middle Eastern sounding music?
This island is situated in the North West of Greece. More Italian or islander music would have been more suitable.
