I love Patty Smyth and this song. She's one of my favorite singers along with other powerhouse singers like Ann Wilson, Maria McKee, and Linda Ronstadt. They should all sing a song together. It would be out of this world.
I fell in love with this song when it first came out way back when. It came up with several other Patty Smyth songs (I love her) just the other night. Now it has an entirely different meaning for me. It makes me think of my daughter, who does not have a relationship with me. I have not seen her in about 3 years. Now I cannot stop listening to this song. And I cannot stop crying.
I loved this movie so much and for years, I couldn't remember what it was called, but I always remembered the song and the montage. The song just pulled the whole movie together. I watch it almost every night and it always manages to make me smile no matter how many times I see it.
A few months ago TH-cam took off the video of Patty singing this song on the Tonight Show. Its a shame, she really nailed it...maybe someone will put it back on one day........

Was there ever an official music video released for this song? I've been looking for years but can't seem to find one. And I swore I saw one aired on VH-1 once or twice when the song first came out.
It's really hard to find this song anywhere. I searched for it for 5 years until i chanced upon an old cd being sold in the sidewalk of all places in hanoi
