- I rarely ever post things like this on Shabbats, but I figured what better way to send a message of love to my homeland than through a dance offering. They say in Hawaiian culture that one of the highest honors you can give someone is through our hula. It has been over 20 years since I have worshipped the Creator in this way, and since He is bringing me back to my roots, I am honored to do this for Him and my people during this time of grieving.
As of the time of publishing this dance, there are 6 homes in our family that have been destroyed that we know of. We almost thought we lost one of my closest uncles until he was finally able to reach us 48 hours after the devastation. He lost everything.
