I can agree. I've had mine for just about 2 years. I use it for hunting, trail work, cutting timber, and every day carry. It's been through a lot and keeps taking the abuse!
My main pack setup is the Eberlestock Skycrane 2. I have a full ILBE as well, but it’s definitely not discreet. I got my 7 year old son the bandit for Christmas last year, and loaded it with full kit. For his size it’s a great pack, and when he outgrows it he can use it as a day hike, get-home, or 72hr pack. Eberlestock and Vertx make my favorite packs period.
VERRY VERRY IMPRESSIVE !!! still have my alice from over 50yrs ; but THIS is whole new ballgame : thanks much !
Solid 24hr to 3-day assault pack!!! Good stuff 🤘🍻
See eagles and hawks everyday... awesome birds!
Thanks from one grunt who remembers the Alice pack.
We used to get issued the Eberlestock Terminnator full size pack.
Excellent quality
Eberlestock products are pretty tough, and a lot of thought put into them. I just find them too feature rich and on the heavy side. Maybe I'm just a simple guy and not fit enough? But then when I was younger and fitter I still liked my bergens to be load caverns with straps. Berghaus Munro was perfect to sit on a webbing order, or a British NI pack; both bomb proof.
100% agree!!! I have my bandit almost 2 1/2 years!!! it still looks great!!! God bless you bro
The bird sounded like a red-tailed hawk.
Sincerely,
A nature nerd
PS: Love the loadout.
The "Merica" call and response killed me. Patriotic bird is a paid actor.
Eberlestock makes the best stuff. Have quite a few of their products. All top quality
I spent 10 minutes just watching you throw the bag over your head 😂 😆 🤣. I was rolling!
Awesome video, you had me rollin pretty good throwing that pack around 🤣I have that pack in the multicam and love it, I use it on day hikes and plan to use for Mountain bike rides and I take it with me as an EDC as well. Thanks for sharing.
Nice review! That size pack is really ideal for what most guys are going to be getting into and more folks should be looking at them! Great stuff!
🍻😎
Honestly It sounded like a hawk than a eagle, I hear them both a lot while at work.
Nice pack though, I just ordered one with your review.
Have some old Amazon bag I’ve used for like 3 years now the best part about cheap gear is that you can mount any way you like
Love mine - had it for about 6 months - hunting, hiking, Run and Gun...dope.
If you add the hip belt - you can definitely put some weight on there - I've put in about 40 lbs of sand and plates for PT. Hip belt is nice because you can add canteens, holsters, etc.
Do you have any you'd recommend for hip belts
Thats a badass pack!! Might have to pick one of these up.
I went for Eberlestock's G3 in green for a 3-day pack. For a day pack, I'd probably do either this or the vertx gamut.
Sweet bag!!
Losing some weight, my man! Must be putting in some work.
Thanks for the overview, man.
Been busy, and now injured, so it'll be a while
Appreciate all your reviews... good info...
I have the eberlestock renegade which is a little bigger and I love it. It can definitely take a beating, and the renegade has a metal frame for a little more weight
Great vid. I’ve had mine a little under a year and use it for hunting and for edc.
I’ve been eyeing this pack for a bit now. I’d call it my “Poor man’s” Mystery Ranch Spartan answer.
Eberlystock makes some awesome packs. I carry the switchblade every day as my edc pack.
Dude I got a FILBE arriving in the mail this week because of your recommendation. I was with the ALICE generation. Semper Fi.
Good pack
Once you make the preventative repairs to it, it's great. .
While you're sewing on the load lifter buckles properly to the yolk sheet, go around and re-tack all the anchors for the compression straps and buckles too.
Thank me later.
I just bought a Hill People Gear Junction pack and it seems very similar. Might buy this bandit too and return one of them.
Looks great. Still love the Cobra patch!
Not for me I'm literally just over 6 5" lol. But at my height them straps look nice and long.
Vis a Vis top pouch. If a pack doesnt have mollee or a pouch, or youd like an extra pouch or bladder..look at the old Lingback Bergan onwards that the Btits 🇬🇧 use.
Great sysetem. 1 ykk zip sewn on add 2 staps easy to put on. Make your own pouch up lower profile. Grab a Brit bladder case ir make one super easy oblong with a zip down the length lots of options.
I use molle Alice 58 pattern mix match to suit. You dont have to be a molle or allice guy theres conversions and easy to alter stuff for budhet and needs.
For you USA guys old SLR pouches from UK , NZ, Australia will fit 4 x 30 rd AK mags too
Randall, you are operator as fuc# with that beard! Great review.
Im a huge Eberlestock fan i have 7 or 8 for me as an assault pack i run either the Switchblade or the Little Trick. I found the Bandit to be too small for me
Wow
Nice size and good fair price. Great review
One of the best video reviews from a non pog - outstanding 👍🍺
Finally, an honest down and dirty review on a Eberlestock bag
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Eberlestock always has great looking designs and some good features. Unfortunately their suspension is terrible when you start adding weight. I believe their packs are either made in China or Vietnam, so I'll stick to my Kifaru, @Grunt Proof you should try a Kifaru framed pack!
I will
Good stuff brother
I was looking to get this pack. It was pretty affordably priced around Christmas time.
great one pack --great video
Really unusual design for the back padding -- and it does look like a reasonable try at improving airflow, the second most important issue of carrying a pack any real distance, after weight distribution. That prompts a related question about thermoregulation -- ever tried the polypro fishnet base layer in cold or hot weather? I know it's great in the cold, but can only guess it's a benefit in heat. (Working hard in direct sun wearing only a T-shirt is a recipe for disaster.)
nice review. I've been looking for a good pack for rucking
The footage reminds me of Lake Tahoe area Rubicon river Hell Hole Reservoir, great vid thanks for posting!
got one! thanks!
was wondering about this one. thanks for the review.
Hey, man that wet weather jacket that you said was repainted, could you share what kind that is, and where to get it. It is what I am looking for, light, and durable. This pack is awesome. Already checked out their site. I am going to have to get it. My biggest problem though is picking a lightweight rain jacket that is packable, and durable. Thanks, Randall.
What do you think about the three day assault pack? Where do you recommend getting combat boots so that you can try them on? Will you review your waffle top and BDU top or goretex jacket? Great review of the M65 I got one and wear it regularly and will continue to enjoy it.
What waist belt are you using?
Is the pack NIR?
Good video.
Just catching this video. What is that “roll” in the other water bottle pocket??
Why are your mags facing away from each other? I’m all for shooter preference I just don’t understand
Nice bag, pricey for a small [ 13.6 L ] day pack.
Loved this pack…until the beaver tail started delaminating. They should use Hypalon like Eberlestock does, rather than the laminate they’re currently using. I had it replaced and sold it :( I now use an AWS Assault Pack Type II.
Great review as always. Question; will that beaver tail hold an ACH? Thank you!
Yup
Rgr and TY
just a heads up that is a hawk in the background lol
Good review have you tried the Mystery Ranch 2 Day Assault Pack from there hunting line? It is a tactical style tri zip pack.
get some!
🍻
Would you personally choose this over a Medium Alice ?
I’ve been running an Alice for 20+ just wondering
No way
They stopped making the best patrol pack when Kifaru dropped the Xray.
If they'd sew this stuff in the USA I'd maybe consider this one, but they don't so I won't.
Does Eberlestock have a trade-in option? Like......five of mine for one of those? Even trade, I'd say. Maybe they'd go for it.....who knows?
I looked it up on Amazon and they want $149 as you stated, but the Multicam one is $169.
Outstanding, I highly doubt it would survive a drag test…..
It did. I lost the footage. As I said, those cool tests only replicate a year or two of usage. In this case, I have used and abused the pack for over a year.
your helmet link and code are not working.
straps dangling everywhere on civilian hikers gear always drives me silently mad
Why would you spray paint this when you can buy it in Multicam?
In what country is this unit manufactured?
One of the very first, if not the first question I ask.
Will not purchase stuff like this, if it is mfg in China!
I think for that price you can safely assume the same place as the device on which we're typing.
I like it but prefer to keep the weight more on my hips "back injuries".
If you have time look at Granite Gear, yes I know for a full setup $2000 is expensive but you get what you pay for.
I'm currently rocking the Granite Gear Blaze 60 , it blends in more in a civilian environment, doesn't stick out past your torso, lays flat and is lightweight but can carry all I need.
It's designed for thru hikers doing 30 mile days for months on end. Also it's on sale right now and is a almost budget friendly item for many.
I wanted to like this pack, but because of it's shape when it's being worn it looks like someone MOLLE'd a giant water bottle holder to the wearer, just not quite right. Once you see it you can't unsee it. Function over form and all that but yikes.
Made In China
Give ‘em one 🫱🏻
Beez Combat Systems has a pack Camo net (Predator Ghillie Backpack Cover), and a list of popular Military oriented packs under each size of pack net. I find it to be a useful resource. Was glad to watch your review of this one, would enjoy your reviews on the durability etc. of the others. I’m interested in the Crossfire DG3 that Brent0331 recommended. Slay Bodies. Also would like to see a review of the Jay Jay’s Beast Bergen, like Prepared Pathfinder did. Additionally the LBT2657 updated Alice looks promising. Kill.
🎶”Meet me down by the railroad track, track.”🎶
I'm working on the CF2 now
DG3 is a damn good ruck. Ihave an early version were the lid is attached. Its the most comfortable ruck I've ever had. I've used mine in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Ohio. Also have the Slick and the DG3 AW. Looking to test the CF2 and CF3. 🥃🍻🪂😁👍🏻🏴☠️🇺🇸
