- Don't miss the special celebration of culture and community! The Bor community, led by Alier Maguet Apech, came together in Des Moines for a two-day Annual Conference on May 25th and 26th. This colourful event included meetings and cultural performances aimed at inspiring the younger generation. The Bor Women organized the video shooting and recording of some songs in Alier Maguet Apech's office. Communal songs from the Gualla Community and Deer were also part of the celebration. Credit is due to both communities and the artist. Artist Emanuel Angok Reech served as the vocalist for the Bor Communities' song collection and also travelled to Des Moines to attend the event.
Experience the rich traditions of the Bor communities with captivating songs from over 17 communities from five Payamas and renowned artists such as Mawut Chol, Daborah Maal, Ngong Achuoth from Aliab Community, Manyang Achut, and Arok Them Deng. These deeply rooted songs and dances were beautifully showcased to encourage children, especially those in North America, to embrace and cherish their culture.

Sorry to nominate you brother Akol but you look like one of my former beloved Kenyan President, Danial arap Moi. I loved moi for many reasons that may not fit on this page, but he gave us Kakuma Refugee Camp, until America, Australia and Canada found us. Dear friends in the USA, please do not make South Sudan a welfare society where money just flows from the US to South Sudan. That could encourage laziness and dependence on handouts, and we all know how proud we are. My people, teach your brother how to fish and let them earn their living, but some of us with a little heavier pockets can shift in during emergencies like floods and draughts.
