This Iron was the rolls Royce of irons back in the days.
Not really it’s a reproduction those things was real hot in the 90s and real early 2000s
Bullshit. This was the only iron available at that time in the market. That's why it works via heated charcoal not by electricity since electricity came later on
@@jjpope3757Charcoal iron in the early 2000s? Which shithole would that be in?
Yup, shows real craftsmanship. Pesents never use to iron their shit. Hell, I rarely iron my shit!
Years later someone would restore this restored version.

Finally someone with skills who sees the value in honoring old things
"Finally" dude people have always done this, quit pretending there was some ancient time where things were done differently. They threw things out back in the day too. Ffs
Don't insert coals inside, you need "soul" for that iron. "Soul" is an oval bar of cast iron that you preheat and put inside of the device. If you use coals you have sparks that can burn holes in your clothing and ash
i thought you were calling him a ginger for a second
We use coals in ours, we just don't use it at a windy place so that the coal wont produce sparks. Works every time. 😊
is it making smell kind a smoke to?
@@jendralsarap1616 Not really it will smell smoke if you use charcoal that is not thoroughly burned through. Also you have to kindle the charcoals in different place then transfer them into the iron. Good charcoals doesn't burn up fast and doesn't leave much ash so you have to know many things about charcoals if you want to use it.

I had no idea I needed to see this until I saw this - thank you.
It's for real, we used to have this kind of iron. 😊
Miss those days! We had one in 1980's 😌
1980s or 1880s? dude was burning coal to heat it up

I love these kinds of restorations. That was so beautifully done.

And crazy to think how much harder things used to be. Imagine having to heat up some coals just iron a shirt. LoL, seriously though.

My grandmother had an iron like that too, but much smaller. She didn't put any glowing coals in there, but put the iron on the gas stove for a minute. But even then it was an antique. She only used it when there was a power outage.

Thanks for this. My uncle and my grandfather before him used an iron just like that in their tailoring business.

👍 Wonderful iron restoration. Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful video art work.
Did you just machine your own bolts? Wicked
No it was a solid rivet. They only cost about 5 cents, but modern hardware stores do not have them, no one would buy them. Buying online would require at least 100 pcs plus shipping.
@@CheddarCheeseBandit Rather than quantity, they are sold in weight, usually 1/2, 1 and 5 lbs increments.
