    You are absolutely one of the BEST demonstrators out there! No wasted talking; all meaningful demos with clear images of what's going on. This is how it's done right.

    Sold. I can't live without an octave pedal, and this looks better than the Micro Pog.

    • @popintothechemist

      The editor app really pushes it over the edge. And the default tone print mode is awesome

      +Mike Hermans I use the Micro Pog all the time - and I know you've used it in your awesome Trio vids. Would you say the regular sub octave here is as beefy as the Pog? Is the tracking as accurate? Would totally appreciate your opinion here, 'cause I want this.

    • @cbappa2
      @cbappa2 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +wgb01001 Ditto. I have the micro pog and this just seems all around better.

      what about the pog 2? have you guys tried that? thanks

    • @MRxr400
      @MRxr400 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hey Mark, I've got a large pog 2, it was good for about 4 years of use, it's died now and i'm replacing with this pedal. The TC sounds as good, if not better, and is more versatile than my old pog.

    Hi, thx for the vid but, is there a range function on the poly lode like the Boss OC ?

  • @CamposCaster
    @CamposCaster 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I have a question: when the pedal is on, you never hear the guitar dry? My question comes from the idea that I can use an octaver pedal, to add over the real guitar sound, and control it with a kind of expression pedal (this is a mod that I´ll do)...when you are soloing, you can add slowly, an octave up,,that´s the idea,,,I don´t found octavers that do this

  • @Ojoe2010
    @Ojoe2010 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Some parts were very Battles-esque....eventhough Battles use a EHX pog.... :)

  • @AbsalomsAxe

    it's interesting how fiddling with the high-octave makes you play almost in a lionel loueke style. great demo and i think i have to get the pedal now!

    interesting pedal - think I need it - love the Miles tune - fabulous demo as usual - thanks! Was going to by a Digitech Mosaic but thought I heard a bit of 12 string sound here - what do ya think?

    • @JohnShalamskas
      @JohnShalamskas 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I own a Mosaic. It uses a lot of power, even when in bypass mode, and the 12 string emulation is artificial sounding. I'm interested in hearing how well the Sub-N-Up can emulate a 12 string guitar.

  • @victorhugobarragan1072

    Great demo! But, could this pedal do "the only octave E and A strings" thing like the boss oc 3?

  • @garynarducci8366
    @garynarducci8366 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I do some home recording. I would like an octave device that can cut the original signal to zero so I can use it as a bass guitar so I don't have to buy an extra guitar to dub bass on a recording.

      Take the back off and flip the 'killdry' dipswitch.

  • @SharkTooth57

    Where did you put the overdrive, before or after the octave?

    • @JohnShalamskas
      @JohnShalamskas 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably OD after octave. The octave pedal needs a clean signal to accurately create octaves of.

  • @stephenfell4338

    hi is it better in the front or effects loop? if front before or after distortion thanks

  • @oconnelh
    @oconnelh 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    yeah why would you not put a wet/dry on this when you have a mix.this pedal could be awesome if had that like your other stereo pedals?

  • @JamesBur
    @JamesBur ปีที่แล้ว +1

    if you're looking for an octavia type pedal eg hendrix style, don't buy this. Get the octavix by electro harmonix instead. I have both and sold the sub n up as soon as I got the octavix. But if you're not looking for a hendrix sound then by all means, this is a great pedal for other stuff

  • @morganthus6323

    So the dry knob acts as a blend?

  • @tobyleungissosexy
    @tobyleungissosexy 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    is this better than the pog 2?
    there is this preset called polyphonic organ generator on the toneprint
    but the ehx pog 2 is called the polyphonic octave generator...
    does the pog 2 or the tc sub n up sound more similar to an organ.

    • @theycallmejpj
      @theycallmejpj 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      i believe the POG actually has less of a real guitar sound, and more akin to a keyboard/organ

  • @CamposCaster
    @CamposCaster 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @prekopgyozo
    @prekopgyozo 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello Mike!
    Does this pedal track notes faster then the Micro POG?
    The POG was way too slow, for faster runs and grooves on the harmonica.

  • @kevinnel7038

    I really dig this. Will have to get one one day. I was kinda hoping the up octave on the classic mode would sound more like a whammy (ala Radiohead) but anyway.

    Would’ve preferred you to only have the guitar and pedal in use the earlier backing track/ music was off putting as it distracts from the pedals sounds imho
