- In March 1606, a small Dutch Ship called Duyfken (Little Dove) met the Wik people as it sailed along the west coast of the Cape York Peninsula in Queensland, resulting in the earliest recorded contact between Europeans and First Nations Australians.
In this animation we hear from the Captain, Willem Janszoon, and learn what he might have thought about the events at Cape Keerweer.
