Thanks for the kind words! I wrote the music on my Ensoniq SD1 keyboard in 1989. (Remember those?) Then I hired the great Eric Persing to produce the track. As I recall, Eric replaced most of my sounds from his vast sample library. (He's a sound designer after all.) He brought in 3 phenomenal gospel singers for the background tracks. It was all good memories for me.

This was a video I had on a VHS tape that I caught off night flight, back in the day, and I was seeing if it was worth the effort of transferring, when I'm delighted to find the HD original, from the creator! It's such a great political statement, sadly lost on people, a fact rendered in sharp relief by your inclusion of the Trump magazine cover, which is as you say, prophetic. Wasn't there a line in it where he said "let's talk about ME for a while" - and something about a Dove bar - did I miss that? It was great to read your stories about the creation of this video, - Thanks so much for posting - and creating it in the first place!

i saw part of this clip in a History channel documental, took months to find on the web and i never thought there was a most complete musical and visual description of a "'yuppie'' back in the 80s . talks about the lifestyle, the 87 crash,the fashion, relationships etc. this IS a true yuppie rap, it does "have-it-all" :D .
