Have you looked into a cheap, small, floating, solar heater for the ponds? I am from MO where everything freezes especially in Jan & Feb. You are a great keeper of all the creatures. Keep up the great work. BTW, loved seeing Daniel and Houston Arms. I have followed them a few years. I have followed you forever. Back to your turtle hatching vid. My hatchling Hermann tortoise from you is beautiful, healthy and thriving.
Yep, little muntjac happy all year round here. Been pretty cold the past few days and I saw a heavily pregnant doe last night and she seemed totally unfazed. Amazing seeing all those fish balled up in with the leaves etc to try and stay warm.
I enjoy every one of your Videos. Your so busy all the time. Thank you for the educational information that you give also. We all learn new things everyday!!
Great video! Neat to see what you need to watch for and do around the farm for a cold Florida day. We just had a cold snap here in Ontario, Canada. It was -31 degrees Celsius (-24'F). We have an old house and sleep near a window so we were winter hats to bed. Our cats all snuggle in bed with us. Luckily we don't have outdoor animals. Eventually want a pond but we'd be bringing the fish in every winter.
It’s good for invasive animals to parish in colder weather. Thanks for the videos. I just got out of the hospital and watching these videos brings me joy. I appreciate what you do man, I also love animals and nature as well. You are living a life on the ranch which I would love to do my self
You preach the truth, mother nature gets it done. However the snakes in south Florida adapt by burrowing and we still need to cull major invasive snakes.
You may want to shut off the pumps at night so it’s not stirring the warm water up with the air. In Virginia we we raise the pump level ( not at the bottom) so it doesn’t stir the bottom water up, it allows an area to stay warm. If you can’t do that then just turn off at night. The oxygen won’t decrease as the water is cold. Just turn it back on in the am.
Perhaps you can run a heat pump in series which the supply line to heated the water. And if you install a decent size solar panel, you now have free heating for your fish.
You can get a water heating attachment for a diesel heater and just recirculate the pond water through the heater on nights that the temperatures drop that low. They need a 12 volt power source at about a quart of diesel fuel to run 24 hours. When you don't need them they can store away easily
You should build a solar cover that you can mechanically open over the pond. Something that can be mounting on the side of the aviary and sits about 7 feet off the ground so at least the heat can help keep them warmer
You’re right! I leave in Northeast Florida, my guppies ponds has heaters and water was still cold. I covered it up at night and removed the half of the cover at day time. Still loss a few guppies. Great video..
27 comment what is good Blake you are the best and the greatest I always enjoy all of your amazing and epic videos I can't wait to see the amazing otter pond when it's finished 💯💯💪💪👍👍👍💯💯👍💪💪👍👍💯
That homestead channel totally gave it all away, showing the nearly finished otter pond full of water. But I expect your real reveal will be a lot better..
im from the uk and all your birds will be fine since i have mostly the same and they do fine and your muntjack will be ok since they thrive here in the uk, they also taste good lol
How about putting in a heater for these cold days for the fish as well as the others . Maybe on a timer to get them through. I believe extremes are here to stay. It's always better to be safe .
Put the hose directly in the water do not let the water spray Susi air and splash on the water and also turn off your pumps of the waterfalls it will keep the heat in the water longer
I'm diggin that future big ol concrete soon to be fish tank. Unless your building an enclosure for something different butttt you have said something about building something for your big fish. That's gonna be sick when it's all done!!!! Are you plotting on using pool liner for the walls and ground.
Fish in the uk sink to the bottom of the pond and survive even when it freezes. Animals are generally resilient. Not sure how those Burmese will survive if your near freezing at night
I hope you are using straw instead of hay for warmth. Hay is for food and doesn’t hold any heat, straw is used for heat! Just throwing that out there in case you didn’t know!
I live in the UK and your “cold day” looks like summer to me 😂 Good job as always looking after your animal family & keeping them warm!
I love our country but this shit puts us to shame imagine building this in London 🤣🤣🤣
I like how Blake said his deer are *Invasive* to the UK.... Nah Mate. Too many old class folk like to *hunt*
lol
@@morphd.9394 I've seen these deer at my country park in essex...didnt know they were invasive
Us in the UK are cold the weather there would be a heat wave for us
Great video and a lovely animal family
From a uk 🇬🇧 koi keeper 😀😀

That pond is looking sick

The inside of the building is soo different from when you last showed it on a video 👌
Thank you for your update video Blake. God bless you and your family....🙏❤🙏❤🙏🙂😊🙂
Yo Blake that aviary video was insane the otter pond is looking good keep up the good
You Should invest in a pond heater there expensive but well worth it so don't lose your fish
Perhaps you can run a heat pump in series which the supply line to heated the water. And if you install a decent size solar panel, you now have free heating for your fish.
That's warm weather compared to us in the UK some people won't care about the cold but Blake make sure his animals a warm and safe true inspiration

Blake, there is a simple solution for the aviary fish. Just put few (5-6) fish tank heaters in the pond, just a suggestion, let's hope for the best.
Blake the B.E.A.R and the aviary is looking dope man keep grinding bro!!!
You should build a solar cover that you can mechanically open over the pond. Something that can be mounting on the side of the aviary and sits about 7 feet off the ground so at least the heat can help keep them warmer
The fish are huddling together to keep warm...... lols
You’re right! I leave in Northeast Florida, my guppies ponds has heaters and water was still cold. I covered it up at night and removed the half of the cover at day time. Still loss a few guppies. Great video..
I have seen iguanas dropping from trees on the iguana hunters. Pretty awesome to see mother nature taking care of this invasive species. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

It regularly drops to below freezing every winter here in the UK Blake, the Muntjacks can handle it no probs.
My boy you are doing great job 🔥🔥
Are there heaters for ponds
Why not get pool heaters for the ponds. You would only have to run them when it's cold
Is a water heater making water too hot for just a cycle?
are you going to remove them wasps?
Blake, did the lipstick palm suffer? That is very tropical and gets hurt in the low 50s.
im from the uk and all your birds will be fine since i have mostly the same and they do fine and your muntjack will be ok since they thrive here in the uk, they also taste good lol
Following at the recommendation of Arms Family Homestead...from west Texas!

I love the way you think.
Muntjac deer are invasive in the UK, frost also snow doesn't bother them, yours will be fine with you fly by chill.
They devlope a winter coat here in the uk
Blake can you get and underwater heat like KAMP KENNAN has...his fish do well in shallower water with the pond heater
How about a heater and thermostat for the pond.. incase if it happens again
I had cichlids in outdoor pond with heaters they all huddled round them and made it threw 30 degrees my water was round 45 50 but you pond is huge

How about putting in a heater for these cold days for the fish as well as the others . Maybe on a timer to get them through. I believe extremes are here to stay. It's always better to be safe .
Could you try ,barrels of hot water ,floating in the pond ? Even if you do it during the night it may just take the edge off . Good luck x
You know what you should get a pare of wild red jungle fowl or not it's up to you.
great video tys Blake
But in NJ that's like summer to us lol lmao 🤣🤣
I'm from Kentucky where supposed to be having a ice storm tomorrow roads are gonna be 3 in thick of ice
I heard the reptiles will only freeze if it stays below 40 degrees for 4 days, or as you said not be able to get into sun in one day. .
Cold day ?
I saw that cement Pond !! Now I know what that extra viewing panels for :)
Did we just got a glimp off the new indoor concrete pond with 2 viewing pannels!?!?!?! 🔥🔥🔥
Put the hose directly in the water do not let the water spray Susi air and splash on the water and also turn off your pumps of the waterfalls it will keep the heat in the water longer
I can't wait to see the otter enclosure
Me too
The wind chill is way less then 39, how about a fish heater or two?
Blake- they make Pond Heaters (check out Kamp Kenan). Good luck 👍
The koi fishes in my pond in -20 weather are laughing at this. 😇
I live in central Fl it got down to 20! Froze animals water and lost a lot of plants 🤬
Just an idea, could you possibly grab a couple big aquarium heaters hook them up to extension cords and pit them on each end in the ponds
Might be worth investing in heaters that can go in the filters
My pond completely froze on that cold snap I live in north Florida
I see that big tank coming soon in the warehouse
I feel bad for my pet crocodile monitor lizard, she escaped 1 week ago ,no luck yet,I'm in davenport fl

I’m from the uk and see munk jack deer daily all year round
Put u a pool heater inline with water pump for aviary pond
I'm diggin that future big ol concrete soon to be fish tank. Unless your building an enclosure for something different butttt you have said something about building something for your big fish. That's gonna be sick when it's all done!!!! Are you plotting on using pool liner for the walls and ground.
One thing you’re missing.. need to get a CAPIBARA BRO 😎LFG
Soooo the giant concrete tank in your fish room
Fish in the uk sink to the bottom of the pond and survive even when it freezes. Animals are generally resilient. Not sure how those Burmese will survive if your near freezing at night
Why not just buy a submersible pond heater ?
I hope you are using straw instead of hay for warmth. Hay is for food and doesn’t hold any heat, straw is used for heat! Just throwing that out there in case you didn’t know!
