Discovered both you and Sadistik through your Flowers For My Father review and have been a huge fan ever since. Great to see both of you guys continuing to release great content!
What I love about Sadistik is he’s abstract but at the same time is very relatable with lines that are personal and hit close to home. Album is beautiful and since Ultraviolet all his albums have been untouchable! Great review Myke 🤘
You put me on Sadistik with Altars and and I fell in love with his music when he put out Elysium, especially From the Gossamer which I still listen to frequently. Today, Sadistik is my favorite rapper and BMBWTWIC and now Oblivion Theater are the albums I hold the closest to my heart and many of my friends would say the same. So, THANK YOU Mike!
Before I even hear your review. I’ve been waiting for your take since this album came out. I think this is one of his best albums he’s put out. I listened to it twice the night it came out and I’ve gone through about 4 more listens since then, and I’m in love with how much I keep finding with every listen. Edit: After listening to your review, you used some of the exact words I used to describe this album and Sadistik as an artist. He is very esoteric, and he does give off that David Lynch vibe. I work in the horticulture industry, so even the plant references always surprise me.
The review I been checking for! Thanks Myke, you put me on to sadistik in 2015 when I found the ultraviolet review. Much love bro, appreciate the review
Long long long long time Sadistik fan here. This album goes OFF. Am working on an analysis of the album because I love it so much. It's the most complete album from him I've heard since Ultraviolet. Everything just *WORKS*.
Maulskull has a very Eyedea voice/vibe. I messaged with him before he was more mainstream & told him that & he was so nice & gracious & said Eyedea ones one of his idols
I'm still digesting the album but I think I'm gonna love it. One of my favorite albums ever is Ultraviolet. For me it's close to perfect, with songs such as Chemical Burns, Orange and The Rabbithole being my highlights. I discovered Sadistik with his collab on the song Castles by Cunninlynguists and I've been a fan ever since.
I love the album! Maulskull killed the production and Sadistik was great as usual. I wasn't aware of Maulskull and love his production style. I did some research and found his album Unamazing Grace, which is dope. Personally my favorite song is Pheonix, which was only on the CD/Vinyl release (I picked up the CD). I wish they made Pheonix available to everyone as it is a great song. Such a beautiful beat...
Definitely my favourite hip hop album of the year so far, Sadistik and Maulskull have such great chemistry My favourite Sadistik album is really hard to choose, I think it’s either Haunted Gardens or BMBWTWIC
I thought the album was great and was really hoping this would get a Dead End Hip Hop review because it should be recognized as an essential body or work for the genre in 2024. However the solo review really gave you enough time to break it down in great depth. I think the David Lynch analogy is spot on as he even references David Lynch on this album and even had a track about Mullholand Drive on the Kno album. Personally Sadistik and Ab-Soul are my favorite rappers currently but with both and especially Sadistik I think he has a tough time appealing to not just casual hip hop fans but hardcore boom bap era fans as well. Lyrcially and in terms of his song writing he's as good as anyone right now but I think traditional hip hop heads struggle to connect with him as I'm sure memebers of the crew do as well. You deserve a lot of credit for putting people on to Sadisitk as it's been over a decade since Flowers For My Father and he's still growing with each release.
it freaking suck when you record footage and lose it or something goes wrong, i feel you there. I love the work of Beksinski, its inspired some of my own stuff. I need to check this one out. Thanks man.
This album is so fuckin’ good. It’s so hard to choose my favorite songs as I like different songs for different reasons but Jubilee of rot, Shibari, Bad Vibes, Pigs Blood, The End is Nigh, Letter to the Neon Specter and With You are my current favorites. Love how end is nigh is so dark on some don’t fuck with me shit then transitions to Neon specter that’s more upbeat but still on some you can’t fuck with me shit lol love it.
I love horror. I like weird shit. I also dont always get the lyrics. Its pretty dense, but I'm mostly ok. Great fucking album as usual. Haunted Gardens is still my favorite though (the Elysium ep is close, where he somehow had a quote (also one of my tattoos) from one of my favorite poems).
Man I always look forward to your sadistik reviews but I’m kind of baffled you didn’t even mention the best song on this album “With You”. That song was a banger and felt like it had a Flowers for my Father vibe
Crazy. You were often either the only one in a DEHH conversation that I was agreeing with, or you were the only one at least playing devil’s advocate just for discussions’ sake. You’ll be missed on DEHH, FOR SURE.
Yeah, I'll say it. If this is the state of Hip Hop where Oblivion Theater gets a single review (good review btw) then everyone right now in hip hop just sucks for real.
This might be Sad's best album yet, it's definitely in close competition with Altars. I personally wasn't a huge fan of Bring Me Back..., something about it just didn't vibe with me, but this one is an all-timer.
Mykes music preferences are typically more explorative than the rest of DEHH, but they have done a few group reviews on Cody's work before. This is just one of those artists that are more on Myke's radar more than anyone else's in the group. One thing I like about Myke's reviews of him is that he acknowledges just how out there Cody's writing style is and mentions that this isn't for everyone. To this day this MC still has me looking up words i've never seen and never used to add to my collection haha. I eat the references up and spit it out vigorously.
This album is insane. Every time Sadistik finds a producer the chemistry is fire.
Sadistik gets better every time, thank you for reviewing it myke, he deserves every praise possible
😈🙏🏻

Maulskull actually produced Orange off of Ultraviolet, so that's probably where you got on board xD
Good review, been waiting for this one.
Ah! You're right!!!
Maulskull has a very Eyedea voice/vibe. I messaged with him before he was more mainstream & told him that & he was so nice & gracious & said Eyedea ones one of his idols
Finally listened to this project, 6 months late. Wow it's amazing. Wish I hadn't waited. Thanks for reviewing it Myke!
This album is amazing ❤ it's my favorite since Haunted Gardens
I'm still digesting the album but I think I'm gonna love it.

Never heard of this before but it sounds really cool, definitely gonna check it out.
Super excited about this, thank you for reviewing it Myke!!❤
I finally listened to I wish my brother George was here……🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Thanks Myke on the real
THANK YOU FOR THE REVIEW!
Nice… didn’t think anyone would review Sadistik. Some of the illest lyrics
Myke has been reviewing sadistik since 2013. If you're interested, you can check out his other reviews of Sadistik.
@@Starlord652 Has he? That’s dope. I’ll have to check them out for sure
Definitely my favourite hip hop album of the year so far, Sadistik and Maulskull have such great chemistry
My favourite Sadistik album is really hard to choose, I think it’s either Haunted Gardens or BMBWTWIC
Thanks myke for always keeping it real
It's an 808 cowbell in 'Pigs Blood', basically the 90's Memphis rap staple and why it gives me that Memphis throwback vibe.
Nah, that’s not what I was referring to. But it’s fine. Either way the song is hard.
oh DUDE that carrie reference went completely over my head til now!

The vinyl is worth checking out, the bonus track Phoenix is great

Great breakdown of the lyrics.
Thank you for this, love the record….Letter to a Neon Specter is on repeat 😊
You pick up the vinyl?
Yeah! I meant to mention it in the video but forgot. I’m gonna show it in a future video.

Would love to hear your opinion on Vultures. Maybe a solo review?
No
Didn't know you were a coward@@mykectown
@@wifimanboyCool. Now you know. And now you’re welcome to leave. 👍🏾
It's a toss for me. Either Altars or Delirium
You should peep his interview with Roh on the Rap Music Plug Podcast
Would you review the new em record? Or is that just something you’re not listening to rn
Man I always look forward to your sadistik reviews but I’m kind of baffled you didn’t even mention the best song on this album “With You”. That song was a banger and felt like it had a Flowers for my Father vibe
Probably cuz I didn't feel like it was the best song on the album. But good tho.
Fair enough I assumed you just didn’t think highly of it, still sad to see lol good review nonetheless.

Pigs blood was unlistenable to me everything else was fire
Funny, that was a standout track to me. Everything else was too slow.
@@MrLando0 I hate those type of flows and deliveries. It sound too forced and unnatural
Real question, does Sadistik support/pay Dead End Hip Hop? I don’t hear anyone else talking about this artist. Is Myke just a huge fan?
The rest of DEHH is stuck in either circa 1992 - 2002 or they simply review well known artists. At least with Mike’s channel I can discover new music.
He’s a huge fan of Sadistik. He’s the one who put me on to Flowers for my Father and that was years ago
😐
