How to build a Jelly-FAD l Non-entangling and biodegradable Fish aggregating device

This video will explain how to build a Jelly-FAD step by step, including the materials and tools needed. Developped by the Pacific Community and the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation (ISSF) as a training video for skippers, fishing crews as well as national fisheries managers and other stakeholders in the Pacific region and worlwide.
It is hoped that the development of Non-Entangling and Biodegradable FADs, like the jelly-FAD will :
• reduce the entanglement of sensitive species, such as sharks and rays
• decrease the use of plastics in FADs and marine pollution
• help the purse seine tuna fishing industry to transition towards more environmentally friendly FAD fishing in the Pacific.
