Been going to (and following) Defqon 1 since I was a teen. Yes there will be a 'real' version by Q-dance somewhere in the coming year. Like you said this is from the livestream. Also, the people started with the left-right before it actually started because last year they did it with minimal intro and it felt a bit rushed. So people just remembering it from last year probably thinks it just starts right away and it had a chain reaction.
I was in the middle. Very overwhelming experience. It was incredible to be part of it.
I can remember the year in Rotterdam with Fast Forward Dance Parade going over the Erasmus Bridge. The music had to be turned off because they where rightly scared that the bridge would collapse because of the dancing. (I was sitting on a guardrail and i was bouncing up in the air because of the shaking of the bridge.
Is normal to make the ground shake overhere.
In 2022 everyone thought they would not do it these year cause the Power Hour was almost over. And in the end everyone should turn around and then a giant lift Platform got up with Left and Right on it. That was so incredible!
Dutch people are very good at going right and left. It's our national talent. lol.
and there are 11 more stages. I was there yesterday, fantastic party. all harder styles, hard genres. people from all over the world.
I loved yellow stage so much. Fast and hard as hell. UPTEMPO!!!!!
just look to 1 hour power hour with Redbull in 2023. Airplains, Helicopters. It was crazy. Left, Right is just 3 minutes of power hour.
And power hour is just 1 hour of a 4 days festival 😜😆
I was there for my 6th year. I do think they started with this in 2016. They also did a new twist throwing this in at the closing the next day but in the dark with a ton of fireworks💪
It’s called harderstyles, not heavy style. Within the harderstyles you have a lot of other things like hardstyle, rawstyle, uptempo, frenchcore and many more

I was in the middle, the second speaker tower from the front. 1/3 to the right between these second row speaker towers. I almost fell and thought I'm gonna get crushed
We are just spoiled and used to it.
This was huge but the camera shots and it being so new in 2017 (earthquake/"stealing it back") made more impact.

The thing that has me thinking and lifting my eyebrow comparing Defcon.1 with Pinkpop is all the ritualistic elements in Defcon.1 [not limited to Defcon many other shows can have similar effects.] And human psychology, and also biology. You also talking about the waves of sound.
The group/hive mind state is what is that tapping in feeling you try to explain. Even if you are not jumping the group will force you to do so. Either go along or be trampled. So lose yourself into the collective. It can be good, it can also be a bad thing.
You have to look at the right left closing ritual. Its 10 times cooler
70.000 is the whole festival. Main fits 40.000 max
This causing an earthquake is not that likely. But it could have effects with vibrating waves.... I mean bridges etc. have collapsed with marching vibrations etc. (not that often, but it has happened.)
