Many blessing to you Gents. I was baptized by Phil 11/13/2021 as was my sister. I return as often as possible and have been back to attend Phil’s bible study on the morning. Thank you for this show. It brought me back to the Lord..
My dad would always quote “children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right”, I would quote back to him “fathers do not exasperate your children”. This went for over 40 years. One of the things I miss the most since he went to be with the Lord.
It used to be common to see whole families out Dove, Quail, Pheasant and Deer hunting here in Kansas, but it's a rarity now, so it's nice to hear that there are still parents out there with kids interested in hunting. Glad to hear Kay is doing well. Good episode, but WAY too much talk of NFL sports entertainment. Stick to whats real, hunting and fishing! God bless you guys!
The 3/5s rule didn't mean they were less human. In short, it was a way the anti-slavery founders set up getting rid of slavery in the long run. If the south were allowed to count their slaves as voters (which they wouldn't have been allowed to vote) the south (who thought of these humans as property)would have always had more votes and would have been able to keep slavery forever.
Professional sports are worldly. When I got saved... professional sports was removed from my life. I get that it's harmless, but the conduct of the leagues and most of the professional athletes isn't something I can support. Gambling, idolizing athletes, etc.
Do the right thing please. Fix your dogs! Please. Only reason the puppy is green is it pooped while being born. Or it was exposed to bile or biliverdin in birth. Human babies sometimes poop during birth, they dont turn green. But get these adults and babies fixed , please.
"There are passages in the Bible that forbid slavery." Nope. This is a lie. First Timothy 1:10 does not forbid slavery. It forbids the kidnapping of free person. It does not forbid the sale of slaves, nor the ownership of slaves, nor does it the demand the release of slaves. Exodus 21 does not forbid slavery. It forbids the kidnapping of fellow Hebrews. It does not forbid the sale of non-Hebrew slaves, nor the ownership of non-Hebrew slaves, nor does it the demand the release of non-Hebrew slaves.
Slavery in the Bible is such a deep and complicated subject. But yes, the Bible does condone lifelong chattel slavery it turns out. It just limits it to foreigners. it's not all about debt or economics. War captives (other nations wars, not Israels) sold to Israel as slaves, but you left off one of the other most common ways to become a slave. Simply being born into it to slave parents. A difficult subject for sure. The 1 Timothy verse against slave traders is not a forbidding of slavery as the one gentleman characterized it. A slave trader is not slavery itself. Slave traders were widely hated in the ANE because they sometimes kidnapped free people and made them slaves. Some outlawed not only in the Bible, but in just about every nation at the time.
"What we know of as slavery was never condoned in the scripture." Nope. This is a lie. Under Mosaic law, foreign slaves were chattel slaves. They could be bought, sold, separated from their families, beaten, raped, killed, kept for life, and passed down as inherited property. Every specific reference to foreign slaves in the Bible is to deny them rights and protections afforded to Hebrew slaves. The treatment of foreign slaves was every bit as bad, or worse, than slavery in the Antebellum south.
Could be? As in it’s okay? I wouldn’t say that Colossians 4:1 - Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven Exodus 21:20 “And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.
Colossians 4:1 does not condemn slavery, and not all slaves were servants. Some were chattel slaves. Exodus 21:20 applied only to Hebrew indentured servants, and not that it is only in effect if the servant dies. Got anything else?
@@cygnusustus so under the “mosaic law” are you saying that chattel slaves were okay? Bc there is so many things about the “mosaic law” that got dismantled once Christ came. Which is the point of everything that they were talking about in this podcast
I have listened to unashamed since the beginning. I have never missed a podcast. I love these people and their ministry. I am not a church of Christ member. I have been considering changing because of the Robertson’s. However TH-cam is replete with videos saying the church of Christ is a cult. Please help.

“At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.”
~John 14:20 (KJV)

Miss Kay is a precious gift ❤
My sister-in-law is the same way, when she comes back home (to Ohio) after living in Georgia! She doesn't come up for the cold holidays. 😉 ❤
p.s.: my husband and I were the Warrior Monks, when we did the fantasy football thing. But, we weren't playing for money or anything.
Geez! Enough commercial breaks? WOW
I really want one of those hats! That is a great talking point to share the Gospel! Where can I get one?
Google 611 armory
If you have to lie to defend your beliefs, it is time to get new beliefs.
I wish Phil would have given us his real opinion of the red zone
I love Jesus❤

Redemption seals the conversion!

Being a bond servant = being in debt. Slavery of America was "stealeth a man" which was the death penalty under Moses law. Exo 21:16
Go Cowboys
Yes I couldn't agree more.
Go Boys
Slavery , part of CURSE.
