The one is played by the bass, and without that you can't really lock onto this groove The groove makes no sense without that one which is cascara doesn't play... so the foot it feet play that. It's completely integral to this and other Latin feels

I'm a drummer and that was just a dumb video 2 sticks didn't make any difference at all Sorry I didn't get it. I like the beat but don't understand about the 2 sticks!
Listen to it more carefully, there's very small kind of "flams" between each pair of sticks who gives a kind of "uncertain" placement of the groove's notes, resulting in a incredibly swinging pattern. This idea was a total genius thing.
