Davey is Davey. I don't think everyone can be like him but I think as far creating identities drivers should just be themselves and that is it.

Reynolds brings up an interesting point about the Boost deal. I think it is a bit rude to expect a driver to put their sponsor aside. Let's say Mostert takes pole, who is sponsored by Optus. They signed a deal in 2022 to become his primary, when Armor All was the pole sponsor. So in which case, would Adderton be happy if they were allowed an independent party who is not locked into a contract with another sponsor. Say Mostert's engineer stands with him with the hat to keep Adderton happy, who is generous enough to give the money. The engineers are also a part of taking pole at the end of the day. It might alleviate the drama attached to it with any luck without getting anyone in trouble.

i think you're on the money there. A team representative is on the podium with them , why not for the Pole Award too?
I this case, however, I think 888 are themselves sponsored in some way by Vodafone so any team member would be going against their wishes

Peter Adderton picked up on this pretty quick... Maybe sort out the contract before this issue arrived...

If you can't wear the hat don't take the money
