Probably by drilling a hole trough the mock capacitor. By switching on and off he can fake the restart of the system. Well done, but quite obvious. The second idea, is hiding a good li-ion battery inside the capacitor, but the switching on and off is unexplained. Other ideas ?

How long does it run before the capacitor is discharged ?
A few secs. Any longer means he has a hidden battery somewhere.
