I'm about half way through your library and loving every second. As a fellow decadent, of course I'm a fan of Aubrey and his tragically short career. I really learned something, though, from your outlining his influence over the next 60 years. Your suits are absolutely wonderful sidling up to the edge of outrageously tacky without stepping over the boundary. Almost Liberace with far better breeding! I can't help but notice that it's been a year since you posted. I hope you haven't been forced back into the tedious world of earning a living with no time for Flock.
So, having returned from my cold shower, I am uncertain if I am enthralled with Beardsley or your telling of the tale. Must watch again before I decide. Thank you very much.

At ..13:27 .. that is the artist ..Erte'....…Museum of Modern Art .. mid 1960s also had a Beardsley show...1922 Nazimova .." Salome" was Beardsley influenced ....

Aubrey Beardsley was probably the United Kingdom's most influential artist. Indeed his move to France in the late 1890s coincided with the birth of the Art Nouveau ... originally known as the "Beardsley Period", Sadly as he was considered a commercial artist he's been overlooked. Great show. Thank you.

Did Aubrey work in pencil first and then go over it with ink, or was it masterful inking from the start?
