Brand new line, brand new figures, but their weapons are exactly the same, but I think work really well. They don't look so oversized now lol. I'll look out for your vid AC! Be aware, Titus is bigger than any of your other marines!
I would agree that this scale would have been better from the beginning, but upsizing them by this much now... I'm sure some people will be happy, but I already have several dozen space marines, including some 2.0 Ultramarines and Space Wolves that just came out just a few months ago. Plus most of the Custodes. Not to mention the upcoming Black Templar 2.0 release, that I'm sure will be the same size as the others. And, as mentioned in the video here, the Custodes and Grey Knights are pretty undersized now, even Terminators should be bigger. Even if I had the money to replace all of those, it would probably take Joytoy years to get around to refreshing all of them. I'm okay with keeping these 3 as a squad of abnormally large Primaris, but I don't think I will be in for buying too many more ordinary Astartes at this scale.

Damn, I'm sooooo conflicted... As you say, this is a size LEAP. Now, I have to wonder... is this just for figs based on Space Marine 2, or is this the new buck that will take over? I'm very worried that stuff I buy today or next month will be out of scale with stuff that comes out 6 months from now, never mind the rest of my collection. I agree that they look great, but I have to believe that JoyToy Warhammer fans were hoping to put these guys with, at the very least, the newer sized 40K marines, but it's not even close (besides the new termies). To be honest guys, Joytoy should have taken a bit more liberty with proportions to begin with and not try to stay so close to the minis. Also, the Joytoy 40k line started off too small. These guys are about 5.5 inches and in the real world that would be just over 8 feet tall, so they are true 1/18 scale now and work perfectly with the rest of my 1/18 scale action figure collection. Which is what I wanted all along. I'm just glad these work nicely with the new Termies. Also, they work with HH now too. Unfortunately, a lot of their mainline 40k will look off. As to whether this is the new size moving forward, I've no idea. The new traitor announcements seem to be bigger (but I suppose you can attribute any major size variance to the warp!). I would be happy just getting SM2 figures and HH if they don't increase the size and improve proportions all round.
This size is definitely superior! It may just be for this line, not sure if Joytoy will implement it for their normal line. We'll wait and see! This lot is worth checking out!

I've got this guy on order (Titus) but no idea where to display him when he arrives. I can't pose him with the rest of the primaris marines in my collection because he'll tower over them. Obviously he won't fit in with my HH figs.
@SkellywagsTV yeah maybe pose him between 2 Terminators or something. Old smaller figures in the back. Not ideal but not much else can do. On one hand I'm pleased they're getting the scale right, what it should have been in the first place but on the other, I've got a good sized collection that won't fit with the new scale.

As a fan of Games Workshop sculpts, these don't quite do it for me. The proportions simply look too bulky and cumbersome - a space marine in power armor should be fast and athletic, ultimately aspiring to wield a power sword. The waist and thighs are too chunky, and the arms look too stumpy. Will be buying regardless though, maybe they'll grow on me.

Might be worth checking through the figures that have been out for a while already. I've wanted mine to mix with the rest of my 1/18 scaled action figures, and these are the best for that so far.
It is a different line. SM2 is a different licence to Warhamner 40k. Collector's just assumed they would fit in with what Joytoy have already released. If SM2 line is really successful, Joytoy could eventually lean more towards that build for their 40k figures. We'll just have to wait and see really

@@SkellywagsTV that's the reason why didn't like the old terminators there legs are too small, along with them not supporting their weight very well they, fall over too easily. I got the grey knight terminators because they don't look as weird put they do share the same problems they can't support their weight and, fall over way too easily that's why I like the new terminators more because they actually look like walking tanks and, when holding one in my hand the feel sturdy and solid especially the metal joints.
Scaling is even more all over the place, it seems. No consistency. Titus and co., here are the final nails in the coffin, no excuse. At least we can still fudge previous releases with their size creeps. They haven't even updated most, if not all, 1.0 figs to 2.0 or 3.0 (so on and so forth), so we can curb our "they'll redo old figures with this new scale" Wishes. The new Black Legion and Khorne Berzerker seem to be following this scale, but at least one can excuse them for being bigger because of chaos juice or something. The problem starts when in the future, Astorath or Lemartes are going to tower over Dante & Mephiston lmao
Yeah, as I said in another reply, this wouldn't have been an issue if Joytoy had sized correctly to begin with. Most named characters out already will likely suffer the most if the size increase applies across the board moving forward.

I esp irked by them not caring for the consumer, because I saw everyone complained even before 2.0/3.0. @GamingMafia_id I Joytoy have been meaning to fix the size problems. With this "new" IP in Space Marine 2, it gives them an excuse to try something way different instead of an incremental size creep. Lol let's hope they don't get up to 1/12 scale! Otherwise there'll be a riot!
Yeah, mate, it's quite annoying, but I've adjusted since HH. A load of my 40k primaris marines are either the same or smaller than my HH. I was planning on concentrating on new termies anyway, but I'll continue to get this new size as it just works with all of my other non-Warhammer 1/18 scale figures too.
Yeah, they were grossly undersized. When you calculate it, some of the previous 40k marines would only be about 6 foot 9 inches when scaled up to real size. That's smaller than firstborn, that's basically a basketball player or Tyson Fury height
@@SkellywagsTV Fair point, however I like to think that the smaller versions line up better with my Lion El'Jonson and Roboute Guilliman, in regards to their relative size comparison. :P Think I will get these three though, I have a few guardsman and these will pose really well next to them!
All figures in mk10 armour (eg. Intercessors) are Primaris. If i were too bothered, I'd replace mk10 helmets with unhelmeted heads or 3d printed mk6 or mk7 ones - then they look first born.
recomandation should be an easy NO! figures are shit, propertions are shit (not game proportion at all) leg articulation is total shit, jumppack has not be upscaled, weapons have not been upscaled...an easy half ass job....whoever recommends these has no sese for good quality
Well that escalated quickly! I will say, proportion-wise, they may not be exactly game proportions, but they'er better than ANY of the previous space marine intercessor proportions. Hands down. Leg articulation is not the best, but total shit? There are older figures I've got that don't even have the capacity to do some of the simple poses I perform in this video. The jumppack has not been upscaled and it sucks. What's worse though, is the fact the pegs don't fit properly (without lubing it up!). I do not need my weapons to be any larger, thank you very much, just the chainsword. I appreciate your opinion Florin and always appreciate your support, but there's no need for insults, mate. Whether served directly on indirectly. It's OK to have differing opinions, but we should be having fun whilst doing so!

I can't believe GW signed off on the original size. with this lot at about 5.5 inches that would mean they would be just over 8 feet, so these guys are definitely true 1/18 scale
@@SkellywagsTV that's the reason why didn't like the old terminators there legs are too small, along with them not supporting their weight very well they, fall over too easily. I got the grey knight terminators because they don't look as weird put they do share the same problems they can't support their weight and, fall over way too easily that's why I like the new terminators more because they actually look like walking tanks and, when holding one in my hand the feel sturdy and solid especially the metal joints.

Scaling is even more all over the place, it seems. No consistency. Titus and co., here are the final nails in the coffin, no excuse. At least we can still fudge previous releases with their size creeps. They haven't even updated most, if not all, 1.0 figs to 2.0 or 3.0 (so on and so forth), so we can curb our "they'll redo old figures with this new scale" Wishes. The new Black Legion and Khorne Berzerker seem to be following this scale, but at least one can excuse them for being bigger because of chaos juice or something. The problem starts when in the future, Astorath or Lemartes are going to tower over Dante & Mephiston lmao
Yeah, as I said in another reply, this wouldn't have been an issue if Joytoy had sized correctly to begin with. Most named characters out already will likely suffer the most if the size increase applies across the board moving forward.
@@SkellywagsTV agree, he's true 1:18, but why now? feels like a slap in the face for older collector. They can't just restart/rescale the whole line and call it a day can't they. I esp irked by them not caring for the consumer, because I saw everyone complained even before 2.0/3.0. For all we know, we'll have a 1:12 marine by the next month and they'll abandon the 1:18 minutes after lol
@GamingMafia_id I Joytoy have been meaning to fix the size problems. With this "new" IP in Space Marine 2, it gives them an excuse to try something way different instead of an incremental size creep.

Yeah, mate, it's quite annoying, but I've adjusted since HH. A load of my 40k primaris marines are either the same or smaller than my HH. I was planning on concentrating on new termies anyway, but I'll continue to get this new size as it just works with all of my other non-Warhammer 1/18 scale figures too.

Yeah, they were grossly undersized. When you calculate it, some of the previous 40k marines would only be about 6 foot 9 inches when scaled up to real size. That's smaller than firstborn, that's basically a basketball player or Tyson Fury height
@@SkellywagsTV Fair point, however I like to think that the smaller versions line up better with my Lion El'Jonson and Roboute Guilliman, in regards to their relative size comparison. :P

I'm coping that my collection are all first borns and titus are primaris marines. And correct me if I'm wrong aren't all joytoy figures all primaris?
All figures in mk10 armour (eg. Intercessors) are Primaris. If i were too bothered, I'd replace mk10 helmets with unhelmeted heads or 3d printed mk6 or mk7 ones - then they look first born.
Most are primaris, not all though. Eric is right though, you can change up the headsculpts

recomandation should be an easy NO! figures are shit, propertions are shit (not game proportion at all) leg articulation is total shit, jumppack has not be upscaled, weapons have not been upscaled...an easy half ass job....whoever recommends these has no sese for good quality

I will say, proportion-wise, they may not be exactly game proportions, but they'er better than ANY of the previous space marine intercessor proportions. Hands down.
Leg articulation is not the best, but total shit? There are older figures I've got that don't even have the capacity to do some of the simple poses I perform in this video.
The jumppack has not been upscaled and it sucks. What's worse though, is the fact the pegs don't fit properly (without lubing it up!).
I do not need my weapons to be any larger, thank you very much, just the chainsword.
