Dr. Von Boogie Well I just finished the Chieftains trials and for me both the frostclaws came together... using the ropecaster to tie both down and using the lodge blast sling helped me out alot!!! Finally got the blazing suns for this trial :D
That had nothing to do with luck. He/she just did absolutely everything in the best way possible. Doesn't start till only one will attack, hits perfect the whole time, does not spend any moment doing something that doesn't make sense, maximises the time they are immobilized/don't have a direct line of attack. I'm sure there's more that I can't even pick up on yet. I'll never be that good but it made me happy to watch, basically starting with the bellowbacks this is just finesse/elegance/mastery.

There is such a thing as luck in the format of action games & its called RNG & its really heads or tail whether the logs all fall correctly according to plan or just one makes contact & does nearly no dmg, in this case especially if you time it right w/ the FrostClaws. Then all hell breaks loose & its another restart

I can't enter the chieftains trial I got blazing sun in first two but she is saying only chieftains may attempt it. Do we want to complete story in frozen wilds to enter chieftains trial?
Thanks for posting this. I was consistently finishing at like 6:30-7:00 but it was taking me three minutes every time just to beat the Scorchers. Never even noticed the logs, breezed through after that.
Now, I know this was mostly a joke, but I think you're onto something here. I play in Hard and, after 10 tries, concluded the vid is not. Cause after 10 tries, the Scorcher didn't die with the logs. Was just a few hits short. And that wrecked the whole thing. So, at least,Normal. And if I'm gonna lower difficulty... Might as well go all the way down.
@@Tatherwood You aren't doing it correctly if they arent dying. I just completed this on Very Hard and the logs instant kill both scorchers. The ones by the frost claws leave them at one hit to kill. Once the first scorcher passes the grass jump down and then run to the rock on the right and get on it. Throw two rocks, one under each log set. Shoot after they walk up to them and they die. I'm at the bellowbacks in under ~40 seconds. This hunting ground was hard until I realized rocks work really well at getting the scorchers/frostclaws in place to get hit by every log
@@connorl862 I don't know what to tell you, man. If you tell me you just did it, I have no reason to distrust you. But I'm not a noob. I mean, I am, but I'm not. I completed the whole game in the max difficulty (I said Hard cause I didn't remember if the NG+ difficulty was Very Hard or another), the max possible for a normal new game. I was mostly able to complete the whole game (sure, dying a few dozen times). My point is, when following this video, I made sure to adapt a bit. Shooting the trunks a bit before the machine stopped, or just as it stopped, or one second after it stopped... I tried different combinations. In over 15 tries, NONE managed to one-hit the stupid thing.
Well darn it, I never noticed those log piles at all. 😂 This just got much easier. It took few trys, but getting both Scortchers with them gave me soooo much extra time, and I passed it 3:41. I got the other bear with logs too, handy.
how tf you get the scorcher on the right with the logpiles?? The logs can't reach the one on the right even though he is directly in the logs path... Before the logs reach him they stop rolling... Please tell me how to do it?? I would be really grateful and looking forward to your response.
@@TheLordJesushealedme you need to get the first one right. Don't stare at it, just get it under the logs and move along to the second one. It'll be alerted; throw a rock to call its attention just under the trap, then trigger it. I just did it 30 minutes ago. Keep it up!
That was pretty good. I ended up beating this challenge with only 2 seconds to spare, lol. I didn't start using the logs until the last 8 tries. I didn't even see the logs in the back during the frostclaw section. I wish you could change the time of day in this game like in the Witcher 3. It was hard seeing certain things at night.
Idk if it's my tv or what, but nighttime in the Frozen Wilds is so hard to see anything. Sometimes I just leave the game running and go make a cup of tea and come back.
*NORMAL DIFFICULTY* Finally been able to do it! 1st: I've been lucky enough to kill the first Scorcher to the left with the log piles. For the second one I used the Improved Stormslinger and Blast/Sticky bomb when KO of the ground. Don't forget to put your fire armor (Carja Blazon Master for exemple) with your best fire weaves on it! 2nd: Stay on the doorstep and just 3-shots with Hardpoint arrows the weak points of the Bellowbacks (the big sacs under their head and the one on their back obviously), they should be done in no time when the frozen effect will happens. 3nd: About the same strategy as with the Bellowbacks, try to stay as far as you can and as long as you can from the Frostclaws. Just 3-shots with Hardpoint arrows their weak points, its their shoulders and their belly. Don't forget to put your best ice armor (Banuk Ice Hunter Master for exemple) with your best ice weaves on it! If they ever come too close, use Blast/Sticky bomb or the Improved Stormslinger. A good strategy is also that when they are frozen, switch to the Rattler (non-elemental arrows) with maxed dmg using your best damage coils. It's basically a shotgun of arrows for close range! You'll see all those dmg number pop everywhere! Hope that helps!! :D

Thank you! Agreed, these tactics are the ones that worked. The video's tactics are a fun watch but some of them are significantly harder to reproduce efficiently enough, compared with these.
Thanks for this. I've been doing my first run on Hard and I was absolutely baffled as to how this was supposed to be possible. Just the Daemonic Scorchers alone took a couple minutes to deal with trying to fight them directly. Never even noticed the log piles. Knocked the whole thing out with time to spare even though I flubbed the timing on the logs for one of the Frostclaws. Was able to kill it with about a minute left lol.
I couldn’t get it on very hard, the logs would only bring it down to half health. And even once I got them the frost claws were taking too long, even after hitting them with logs, so I just changed it to story mode and did it that way 😂
The upgraded Forgefire is really strong against the Frostclaws actually (the 2nd, fire bomb mode), you don't have to tough it out just with arrows. Soften them up with a few fire bombs and then lay in the arrows once that explodes a weak spot and puts them on fire.
@@octaviancotor750 I have done this myself with the same bow. This demo is on easy mode. Trust me. I've 💯 this entire game and you can not do this as easy as is shown on anything above story difficulty.
I never noticed the log pile high above the frostclaw on the right. Nice one. I deal with them a bit differently - need to test how much damage those would do on UH.
Cheers. Outside trials I rarely use anything other than the adept striker bow. But here, it's 3 arrows with some spread, which obviously grows with distance, vs one projectile which pretty much always hits the bull's-eye.
Valid points, especially on UH. With only arrows, it wouldn't be possible to beat this trial in 1:11. How much time have you spent on the game? I have a feeling that way too much, just like me :D
300 hours. With the drop rate of triple stat purple mods being so abysmally low, I figured completing the game 6 times was faster and it guaranteed those sweet pristine coils. I love this game.
Great vid - thanks. Nailing those logs on at least one frost claws is what *needs* to be done to make this work. Otherwise it takes to long. Nailing most of your shots to weaker points helps too. Took a dozen tries before the nirvana of fortunate events occurred but your video was the ground work. Thanks

You could also lure them under the logs and tie them down if you’re worried about missing. Shoot and run until they get close and tie them down and shoot the logs. You can do it pretty damn fast if you’re aware of your surroundings.
My strat which worked for me without too being too technical: - Scorchers: tear arrows on mine launcher & use it against them - Bellowbacks: load up 3 hardpoint arrows and shoot the back sac, then while frozen, shoot obvious weak spots - Frostclaws: Blast sling (non-elemental) until they freeze, then load up 3 hardpoint arrows and shoot
Thank a lot! Didn't ever notice those logs. Worked almost perfectly on Scorchers, didn't work on Fireclaws, but saved time on first two areas allows to finish them in time any way you like. Got 3:05 on first try (hard difficulty).
Never managed to get gold on the original release of this game, then the remaster came out and I thought to give it another shot. Knowing that you could kill the Scorchers so quickly was all I needed to finally beat this hunting ground, so thanks!
thanks so much for this vid! blazing sun at 2:34 on normal with improved forgefire on the frostclaws at the end since i couldn't get the logs trick to work on that section. missed both the logs on that stage and one of the scorcher logs i misfired on but was able to take the other scorcher out in a decent amount of time! very helpful vid, these hunting grounds are HARD!
This is entirely doable in normal difficulty. The tricky part is getting the machines under the log traps. Took me about 7 tries but I finally beat it at 4:17. Thanks man!!
If you can, shoot off a mine launcher from one of the first scorchers while it is killed by the logs. You can use the launcher to then quickly kill the bellowbacks.
3:57 was my time. I followed the 1st and 2nd parts to the letter. For the Frostclaws I went to the left by the logs, shot one with a Frost Cannon at it's weak point the switched to Precision arrow (I don't use hardpoints) and kept firing till the other one came. What happened was it went underneath me right under the logs and I shot the logs from behind (they'll still fall). It should die if done right. Now I all I had to do was finish off the other Frostclaw with half health. I used the Ropecaster and Firethrower to accomplish this.
I just completed it on very hard and got one insta kill and the second scorcher down to like 20% hp for shooting down the log pile too late. You gotta get their positions just right in order to insta kill them

I just got it using same method tonight. Got both scorchers although I had to throw a few blast bombs on 2nd. Took me slightly longer on bellows plus I used the wood pile. Frostclaws I got both with wood piles but first one I used triple arrows for kill. 2nd one wood pile took care of it since I was waiting right below. Jumped out of way and arrow. Thanks. I had no luck other ways.

Logs seems to be your best friend at this trial. PS : I found a safest way to deal the Frostclaws : After entering the 3rd arena use as the video the logs and run left on the cliff, the Frostclaws don't follow you and you can kill them from a safe distance....
I'm not one to ever comment on any TH-cam video, but those log hacks helped me get through it in 2:30 I was struggling, finishing just 15 seconds too late every other time. Cheers!

playing it in hard mode... and thought I can beat it in a normal way coz I manage to get it in 4:35 ... Its just the scorcher is the annoying part in the challenge. I didn't see those logs in the first place so thank you for showing it just done it in one try after knowing the log part... i got the silver trophy now ❤💕...
I remember the one with ikrie I had to fight a bellowback and my arrows always ran out then one time accidently miss and hit the log thingy and it killed the bellowback with just one arrow.ONE ARROW and I still forgot to do that to this trial HSHSHSHSH
Just did this on hard with 4 seconds to spare by doing the following: 0) Have fire- and ice-resist outfits ready, with fire equipped first 1) Descend the rope when the first Scorcher (the one nearer to you) is a little past the patch of grass you land in from the rope 2) Shoot the logs above the first Scorcher when it stops then immediately shoot the other pile over the second Scorcher Very often this gets the first scorcher to a weak-spot one-shot with hardpoint arrows, and gets the second scorcher to about half or a little under half health (you could probably experiment a bit to get better timings) Then equipped my ice resist outfit and picked up the mine launcher nearest the gate. The mine launcher shreds the Bellowbacks when you hit their big canister directly. If you have enough mines, clear them both but otherwise just triple-shot hardpoint arrows. You should be below one minute on the clock at this point. Use the handholds to climb to the next section faster than using the ramp Get into the next arena about midway between the log piles. I never did figure out the best timing for these, but I mostly guessed and got about a quarter health down on the left Frostclaw, and maybe 10% on the right. I'm sure with better timings this would be much easier, but regardless my Frostclaw strat (you need the Shadow Ropecaster and Improved Fireforge for this) 1) Immediately head toward one Frostclaw and Ropecaster it down. It'll help to have high handling mods on your Ropecaster 2) Fireforge it until your first volley runs out, then Fire burst. 3) Once the other Frostclaw makes its way over, Ropecast both of them and focus FIreforge DPS on one before turning your attention to the other The fire damage will trigger the Frostclaw's body weakspot and will likely rupture at least 1 Freeze canister on the Frostclaw. Since both are probably in close proximity, this should trigger at least one to fully Freeze, and some Freeze onto the other, which helps your DPS. Swapping out to the Sling while the Fireforge needs to reload might also help here as well, but I didn't experiment with that. Once you have a single Frostclaw to worry about you can probably hardpoint it to death, or just cannon it down with the Fireforge
I feel like I used the "hard" strategy for this being oblivious to the log piles :D on hard mode 1. 3shot the packs at the backs of scorchers, it stuns them, then frost arrow to freeze them, then 3shot the head to instantly kill them, if done from cover, the 2nd scorcher doesn't come charging in and you can repeat the same on it, takes 50-60 seconds 2. bellowback strat was the same 3. frostclaws, run in and slide duck on top of the island in the middle and use shock arrow (single is enough) to hit a power cell on the back of left frostclaw, 3shoot the shoulder and then the head, repeat on the right shoulder, basically max dps to it finish off, keep on jumping for time slow, IF he chargers you, you roll INTO him, he'll pass over and you'll avoid all damage, if done right, you can then turn around quickly and use shock arrow (have to change while sliding) to hit another power cell and stun it etc, I think I finished at around 4min mark with this tactic, ropes are useful to disengage and gain some distance if you aggro both - it isn't the end of the world, just keep constantly moving, I didn't even use any special resistance armor, just had the med pouch full just in case they got lucky, more than a few times they got very lucky and comboed me 100>0 :)) the tactic to roll into the frostclaw IMHO very useful later with the fireclaw inside one of the mountain, that space there had nowhere to disengage and was a painful fight to learn to beat... later fighting them outside was almost like easy mode in comparison, and fireclaws have lots of power cells on their back, 8 of them, I used all of them 1 by 1 to stun it during that fight
Kyuzo86 Well done! I used the Lodge blast sling with 3 purple damage coils. I know about the log piles but I only used one on the first Scorcher. One of those periodic whiteouts hit before I talked to Lauvuk and kept up for the duration of the trial, so I couldn’t see the spots on the log piles you have to hit to cause them to come down. Still, I finished in 4 minutes 12 seconds. That Lodge blast sling is quite damaging with 3 purple damage coils. I kept up a constant barrage, only stopping to reload. Nice thing is I ended up rupturing the cryo-tanks on the Bellowbacks and the Frostclaws, and the resulting freeze made it even easier.
Congrats! Yes, blast sling is a good choice, it's very OP. It can help you out in pretty much every difficult situation such as this trial (one of the hardest in the game imho). Cryo-tank (or any tank) explosion is guaranteed.
Either the log piles are not a guaranteed one hit kill or Gorilla games has NERFED the log pile’s damage output because I can’t instakill them with them at all
After about 30 tries i'm so done listening to those scorcher attacks... I never get that second one to get damage from that log pile... UPDATE: First try after this comment I got in 2:51. (So I guess commenting on this video gets you luck boost?)
Just got it on hard. You HAVE to utilize logs on scorchers and frostclaws. Bellowbacks are easy but just gotta keep triple loading your bow and keep retrying until you hit your shots
I don't know if it got patched or whatever but the logs won't fully kill the Scorchers anymore. I shot them just as you did, when they stop in their tracks. It still did like 80% of damage. Barebacks easy without the video. Frostclaws, same case. The logs don't do nearly as much damage as your video. Must've been patched. But still, the logs helped a ton for Scorchers. Those bastards are tough. If I had as good aim as you, probably could've finished around 4min mark. Finished with like seconds to spare.
Guys, this strategy will work on any difficulty. I just did it in 4:26 on Hard. With a bit of luck and skill knowing when to hit the log piles, they can kill enemies even on higher difficulties. I took out one Scorcher with the first log pile. The second log pile only damaged the second Scorcher so I shot off its disc cannon and killed it that way. And with ammo still available, I went in and launched the rest at the Freeze Bellowbacks. One ended up walking toward a log pile that I shot by accident which killed it. Finished the other with hard point arrows. Against the Frost Claws, I laid about 8 blast wires, then shot the left one with hard point arrows to get its attention. It wasn't attacking and I saw it was under a log pile so I shot that and that actually killed it. The second tripped 6 of the 8 blast wires which did a lot of damage and I finished it with hard point arrows. I actually completed this last year, though that was probably on a lower difficulty.
Not only is it dumb that you can't raw force through it with any other end result than bronze/death, but that the logs are the way to victory isn't really a test of your own strength imo.
Funniest thing is that if your RNG is good, one of the Bellowbacks (even both) will spawn right close to a logpile. You just hit the sack, it explodes and knocks the traps, almost insta kill 😂
I did this on normal, if the machines are in the right spot you can kill them all with just the logs. Using a lodge blast sling with all damage mods does a good job of taking out the rest. The other 2 sets of beasts will eventually exploded their freeze canisters making the blast sling do even more damage as you hit them.
Ah, so the biggest challenge for me was I couldn't beat the 2 Scorchers head on in under 2 minutes ... using the log traps you did both in under 30 seconds 😅 Thanks
The first time i change to easy mode so far. I always got around 4:35 because the frostclaw didn't go where i want them to be and also the shorcher (idk if i spelled that right) is kinda hard to defeat with their fast movements. And after like 4 hours of desperation, i change it to easy mode and still took me 3 attempts to finally beat it with time around 4:05 by spamming blastwire trap on the frostclaw
It’s easy after a while but it’s all RNG. It took me 4:20. That’s the time I ended with, both Frost and Ravager takes RNG to kill or do big damage with logs
Meanwhile the developers: hmm that jump time freeze supposed to be when you jump off the mountain and attack. New generation of players these days takes advantage of every little thing we do.
You know what might help those who want to do this? Perhaps if you listed your armor set and weapon set with what mods were attached, because going purely based on what's seen in the video, I'm still doing less than 90+ damage with each arrow (~270 with the triple shot). :/
@@moe_1838 it's definitely the hardest of all trials, lol. The only one that made me mad. The rest was fine. The bow was really slow in comparison tho. Also, the Frozen Wilds machine are a hell of annoying.
@@meurer13daniel definitely, I entered the frozen wilds area underleveled and got too addicted to leave it, ended up almost losing my sanity trying to 100% it early on
This is handy, though it hasn't helped me a lot since 19 out of 20 times, barely ANY of the logs actually hit the second scorcher, no matter how well I time it
I just covered this trial on my channel and wanted to see some alternative methods... your starting strategy with the log piles is genius, could have saved myself some precious time using that method! Great content.
Thanks! Great content on your channel too. In your latest video I saw that you switched to striker bow at some point. That's my favorite bow. If you bump it up with damage mods, the damage output becomes quite good and in comparison with powershot, ammo is very cheap, it's very fast to reload with 3 arrows, very fast to power up the shot and aiming is easier as well.

Bro I didn’t even try to use the logs because I naively assumed they wouldn’t work. Also turns out I didn’t have to waste tens of thousands of shards on stormslinger ammo to beat it 😂
Wow the first part really doesn't work for me ... I don't know if it's bad timing but the logs dont kill them whatsoever, especially the second one they barely scratch him.
I cannot for the life of me get the logs to kill the scorchers. It'll damage them but it won't kill them and I can't get this to work. I keep getting to the frost claws and I have one left by the time I hit 4:30.

Don't forget to put your best ice armor (Banuk Ice Hunter Master for exemple) with your best ice weaves on it! If they ever come too close, use Blast/Sticky bomb or the Improved Stormslinger. A good strategy is also that when they are frozen, switch to the Rattler (non-elemental arrows) with maxed dmg using your best damage coils. It's basically a shotgun of arrows for close range! You'll see all those dmg number pop everywhere!

Thanks for this. I've been doing my first run on Hard and I was absolutely baffled as to how this was supposed to be possible. Just the Daemonic Scorchers alone took a couple minutes to deal with trying to fight them directly. Never even noticed the log piles. Knocked the whole thing out with time to spare even though I flubbed the timing on the logs for one of the Frostclaws. Was able to kill it with about a minute left lol.
I couldn’t get it on very hard, the logs would only bring it down to half health. And even once I got them the frost claws were taking too long, even after hitting them with logs, so I just changed it to story mode and did it that way 😂
For the 1st scorcher, point and shoot at the battery behind to make him explode which knocks the logs off causing them to fall on its weakpoints
Moral of the story: logs are OP :))
The upgraded Forgefire is really strong against the Frostclaws actually (the 2nd, fire bomb mode), you don't have to tough it out just with arrows. Soften them up with a few fire bombs and then lay in the arrows once that explodes a weak spot and puts them on fire.

Cheers. Outside trials I rarely use anything other than the adept striker bow. But here, it's 3 arrows with some spread, which obviously grows with distance, vs one projectile which pretty much always hits the bull's-eye.
Valid points, especially on UH. With only arrows, it wouldn't be possible to beat this trial in 1:11. How much time have you spent on the game? I have a feeling that way too much, just like me :D
300 hours. With the drop rate of triple stat purple mods being so abysmally low, I figured completing the game 6 times was faster and it guaranteed those sweet pristine coils. I love this game.

Great vid - thanks. Nailing those logs on at least one frost claws is what *needs* to be done to make this work. Otherwise it takes to long. Nailing most of your shots to weaker points helps too.

You could also lure them under the logs and tie them down if you’re worried about missing.
Shoot and run until they get close and tie them down and shoot the logs. You can do it pretty damn fast if you’re aware of your surroundings.
My strat which worked for me without too being too technical:
- Scorchers: tear arrows on mine launcher & use it against them
- Bellowbacks: load up 3 hardpoint arrows and shoot the back sac, then while frozen, shoot obvious weak spots
- Frostclaws: Blast sling (non-elemental) until they freeze, then load up 3 hardpoint arrows and shoot
Thank a lot! Didn't ever notice those logs. Worked almost perfectly on Scorchers, didn't work on Fireclaws, but saved time on first two areas allows to finish them in time any way you like.
Got 3:05 on first try (hard difficulty).
Never managed to get gold on the original release of this game, then the remaster came out and I thought to give it another shot. Knowing that you could kill the Scorchers so quickly was all I needed to finally beat this hunting ground, so thanks!

thanks so much for this vid! blazing sun at 2:34 on normal with improved forgefire on the frostclaws at the end since i couldn't get the logs trick to work on that section. missed both the logs on that stage and one of the scorcher logs i misfired on but was able to take the other scorcher out in a decent amount of time! very helpful vid, these hunting grounds are HARD!

This is entirely doable in normal difficulty. The tricky part is getting the machines under the log traps. Took me about 7 tries but I finally beat it at 4:17. Thanks man!!
If you can, shoot off a mine launcher from one of the first scorchers while it is killed by the logs. You can use the launcher to then quickly kill the bellowbacks.

3:57 was my time. I followed the 1st and 2nd parts to the letter. For the Frostclaws I went to the left by the logs, shot one with a Frost Cannon at it's weak point the switched to Precision arrow (I don't use hardpoints) and kept firing till the other one came. What happened was it went underneath me right under the logs and I shot the logs from behind (they'll still fall). It should die if done right. Now I all I had to do was finish off the other Frostclaw with half health. I used the Ropecaster and Firethrower to accomplish this.
The log piles never completely kill the scorchers for me ever if they are right under them. They do like 25% damage at best

I just completed it on very hard and got one insta kill and the second scorcher down to like 20% hp for shooting down the log pile too late. You gotta get their positions just right in order to insta kill them

I just got it using same method tonight. Got both scorchers although I had to throw a few blast bombs on 2nd. Took me slightly longer on bellows plus I used the wood pile. Frostclaws I got both with wood piles but first one I used triple arrows for kill. 2nd one wood pile took care of it since I was waiting right below. Jumped out of way and arrow. Thanks. I had no luck other ways.

PS : I found a safest way to deal the Frostclaws : After entering the 3rd arena use as the video the logs and run left on the cliff, the Frostclaws don't follow you and you can kill them from a safe distance....

playing it in hard mode... and thought I can beat it in a normal way coz I manage to get it in 4:35 ... Its just the scorcher is the annoying part in the challenge. I remember the one with ikrie I had to fight a bellowback and my arrows always ran out then one time accidently miss and hit the log thingy and it killed the bellowback with just one arrow.ONE ARROW and I still forgot to do that to this trial HSHSHSHSH
Just did this on hard with 4 seconds to spare by doing the following:
0) Have fire- and ice-resist outfits ready, with fire equipped first
1) Descend the rope when the first Scorcher (the one nearer to you) is a little past the patch of grass you land in from the rope
2) Shoot the logs above the first Scorcher when it stops then immediately shoot the other pile over the second Scorcher
Very often this gets the first scorcher to a weak-spot one-shot with hardpoint arrows, and gets the second scorcher to about half or a little under half health (you could probably experiment a bit to get better timings)
Then equipped my ice resist outfit and picked up the mine launcher nearest the gate. The mine launcher shreds the Bellowbacks when you hit their big canister directly. If you have enough mines, clear them both but otherwise just triple-shot hardpoint arrows.
You should be below one minute on the clock at this point. Use the handholds to climb to the next section faster than using the ramp
Get into the next arena about midway between the log piles. I never did figure out the best timing for these, but I mostly guessed and got about a quarter health down on the left Frostclaw, and maybe 10% on the right. I'm sure with better timings this would be much easier, but regardless my Frostclaw strat (you need the Shadow Ropecaster and Improved Fireforge for this)
1) Immediately head toward one Frostclaw and Ropecaster it down. It'll help to have high handling mods on your Ropecaster
2) Fireforge it until your first volley runs out, then Fire burst.
3) Once the other Frostclaw makes its way over, Ropecast both of them and focus FIreforge DPS on one before turning your attention to the other
The fire damage will trigger the Frostclaw's body weakspot and will likely rupture at least 1 Freeze canister on the Frostclaw. Since both are probably in close proximity, this should trigger at least one to fully Freeze, and some Freeze onto the other, which helps your DPS. Swapping out to the Sling while the Fireforge needs to reload might also help here as well, but I didn't experiment with that.
Once you have a single Frostclaw to worry about you can probably hardpoint it to death, or just cannon it down with the Fireforge
I feel like I used the "hard" strategy for this being oblivious to the log piles :D
on hard mode
1. 3shot the packs at the backs of scorchers, it stuns them, then frost arrow to freeze them, then 3shot the head to instantly kill them, if done from cover, the 2nd scorcher doesn't come charging in and you can repeat the same on it, takes 50-60 seconds
2. bellowback strat was the same
3. frostclaws, run in and slide duck on top of the island in the middle and use shock arrow (single is enough) to hit a power cell on the back of left frostclaw, 3shoot the shoulder and then the head, repeat on the right shoulder, basically max dps to it finish off, keep on jumping for time slow, IF he chargers you, you roll INTO him, he'll pass over and you'll avoid all damage, if done right, you can then turn around quickly and use shock arrow (have to change while sliding) to hit another power cell and stun it etc, I think I finished at around 4min mark with this tactic, ropes are useful to disengage and gain some distance
if you aggro both - it isn't the end of the world, just keep constantly moving, I didn't even use any special resistance armor, just had the med pouch full just in case they got lucky, more than a few times they got very lucky and comboed me 100>0 :))
the tactic to roll into the frostclaw IMHO very useful later with the fireclaw inside one of the mountain, that space there had nowhere to disengage and was a painful fight to learn to beat... later fighting them outside was almost like easy mode in comparison, and fireclaws have lots of power cells on their back, 8 of them, I used all of them 1 by 1 to stun it during that fight

Kyuzo86 Well done! I used the Lodge blast sling with 3 purple damage coils. I know about the log piles but I only used one on the first Scorcher. One of those periodic whiteouts hit before I talked to Lauvuk and kept up for the duration of the trial, so I couldn’t see the spots on the log piles you have to hit to cause them to come down. Still, I finished in 4 minutes 12 seconds. That Lodge blast sling is quite damaging with 3 purple damage coils. I kept up a constant barrage, only stopping to reload. Nice thing is I ended up rupturing the cryo-tanks on the Bellowbacks and the Frostclaws, and the resulting freeze made it even easier.
Congrats! Yes, blast sling is a good choice, it's very OP. It can help you out in pretty much every difficult situation such as this trial (one of the hardest in the game imho). Cryo-tank (or any tank) explosion is guaranteed.

Either the log piles are not a guaranteed one hit kill or Gorilla games has NERFED the log pile’s damage output because I can’t instakill them with them at all
After about 30 tries i'm so done listening to those scorcher attacks... I never get that second one to get damage from that log pile...

Just got it on hard. You HAVE to utilize logs on scorchers and frostclaws. Bellowbacks are easy but just gotta keep triple loading your bow and keep retrying until you hit your shots

I don't know if it got patched or whatever but the logs won't fully kill the Scorchers anymore. I shot them just as you did, when they stop in their tracks. It still did like 80% of damage. Barebacks easy without the video. Frostclaws, same case. The logs don't do nearly as much damage as your video. Must've been patched. But still, the logs helped a ton for Scorchers. Those bastards are tough. If I had as good aim as you, probably could've finished around 4min mark. Finished with like seconds to spare.

Guys, this strategy will work on any difficulty. I just did it in 4:26 on Hard. With a bit of luck and skill knowing when to hit the log piles, they can kill enemies even on higher difficulties. I took out one Scorcher with the first log pile. The second log pile only damaged the second Scorcher so I shot off its disc cannon and killed it that way. And with ammo still available, I went in and launched the rest at the Freeze Bellowbacks. One ended up walking toward a log pile that I shot by accident which killed it. Finished the other with hard point arrows. Against the Frost Claws, I laid about 8 blast wires, then shot the left one with hard point arrows to get its attention. It wasn't attacking and I saw it was under a log pile so I shot that and that actually killed it. The second tripped 6 of the 8 blast wires which did a lot of damage and I finished it with hard point arrows. I actually completed this last year, though that was probably on a lower difficulty.
Not only is it dumb that you can't raw force through it with any other end result than bronze/death, but that the logs are the way to victory isn't really a test of your own strength imo.
The real question is how the fuck are you hitting for so much damage on the bellowbacks.

Funniest thing is that if your RNG is good, one of the Bellowbacks (even both) will spawn right close to a logpile. You just hit the sack, it explodes and knocks the traps, almost insta kill 😂

I did this on normal, if the machines are in the right spot you can kill them all with just the logs. Using a lodge blast sling with all damage mods does a good job of taking out the rest. The other 2 sets of beasts will eventually exploded their freeze canisters making the blast sling do even more damage as you hit them.

The first time i change to easy mode so far. I always got around 4:35 because the frostclaw didn't go where i want them to be and also the shorcher (idk if i spelled that right) is kinda hard to defeat with their fast movements. And after like 4 hours of desperation, i change it to easy mode and still took me 3 attempts to finally beat it with time around 4:05 by spamming blastwire trap on the frostclaw

It’s easy after a while but it’s all RNG. It took me 4:20. That’s the time I ended with, both Frost and Ravager takes RNG to kill or do big damage with logs

You know what might help those who want to do this? Perhaps if you listed your armor set and weapon set with what mods were attached, because going purely based on what's seen in the video, I'm still doing less than 90+ damage with each arrow (~270 with the triple shot). :/

Thanks! Great content on your channel too. In your latest video I saw that you switched to striker bow at some point. That's my favorite bow. If you bump it up with damage mods, the damage output becomes quite good and in comparison with powershot, ammo is very cheap, it's very fast to reload with 3 arrows, very fast to power up the shot and aiming is easier as well.

Those logs do about 30% damage on Hard. I think you must have it set to Super Easy mode.

I cannot for the life of me get the logs to kill the scorchers. It'll damage them but it won't kill them and I can't get this to work. I keep getting to the frost claws and I have one left by the time I hit 4:30.
