    i appreciate the honest reaction, and we do have different preferences but thank you for giving them a chance to listen anyway. also, about the pianist, he plays for them sometimes, especially in their recent album but the other band members could play the piano as well, there are some lives where their drummer plays the piano, sometimes the bassist, but only in their ballad stuff.

    I was at their concert last month and it was the best concert in my life. The crowd was vibing so much and jumping all night. Check out their Make It Out Alive song, live at Chance festival. No, they dont have any official keyboard player because their songs dont need keyboard all the time. The official members are just the 4 of them. I love all the members and they are unique in their own way. If you don't get it, its ok..thats the differences between a fan and a non-fan. I get it. So yea, you dont have to be a fan to listen to their music, but if you dont like it, just move on and listen to someone else and don't look back.

      I think I get it a lot more now. I felt like the other stuff I saw would have made a bigger impact if I knew who these people were beforehand. Really like what I'm seeing and now I know for sure that they aren't just another typical pop rock band. They do have something different to offer and I'm more motivated now than ever to do this deep dive

      @@compactrhythm They've been around for 15 years. They're dubbed as the Japanese Linkin Park for a reason. Checkout their older stuff, trace back 10yrs into their past hits and you will understand why people love them. Today, they're still the best of their kind and that is proof of their superiority.

    • @compactrhythm

      that's what im here for. i do definitely want to know why theyre famous rather than THAT they are famous. obviously the more recent songs are good and high quality but they didnt get them to where they are now

    I looked at other comments, and they said that they felt the change from Beginning to Clockstime was terrible, to say the least. If so, I don't think ONE OK ROCK is to your taste. This is because ONE OK ROCK is diverse, from very pop to very heavy music. If you want to feel safe listening to one type of music, it's better to respond to other artists. Also, if you think that TAKA's vocals are so great that the other three are supporting, then I can only say that your knowledge of music is shallow. I think so, having listened to various types of rock from various countries for at least 30 years. I think you should stop using offensive words based on your limited experience. Let's be more humble. Because at least ONE OK ROCK is trying harder than you in everything.

    • @compactrhythm
      @compactrhythm  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My favourite artists are also diverse. I don't only listen to rock music. Idk if you watched the video you're commenting on but I had high praise for this video as the band members all felt involved in the process of putting on a show. In the other shows I didn't feel that. It's not a musical thing. I don't think the change from the beginning to clock strike was terrible so I don't know what the others are saying. It's just very different and not expected. I like the music but that show was just an average show. If you can point out anything I missed in that performance that they did differently then tell me tho because I only watched it once and didn't feel any incentive to rewatch it

    for some of their heavier stuff, please check out ONE OK ROCK - 3xxxv5 Take Me To The Top LIVE specifically the one with green haired Taka(vocalist)

    Please understand that One Ok Rock is a versatile band, they are not just playing one genre that is why song suggestions are not the same, we might suggest ballad, pop rock or piano versions because this is One Ok Rock. They are not boxed to one genre because their name said so. 😂Reactors are also not the same. So if we recommend please specify your likes and dislikes.
    But now we know what to recommend to you. Seems you’re more into heavy. Then this whole concert of 35xxxv tour has a heavy setlist.
    I will suggest the following, please take notes on these.
    ‘One by One’ 35xxxv tour
    ‘Liar’ 2015 35xxxv tour (same as this concert)
    ‘Deeper deeper’ in Yokohama Stadium
    ‘35xxxv Take me to the Top’

    • @shicelle635
      @shicelle635 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      And yes he still screams. He did it in Make it Out alive Asia tour last year. Note that there’s no scream in the studio version of this song. That’s one reason we like lives.

    • @compactrhythm
      @compactrhythm  ปีที่แล้ว

      I definitely get it now. I know i was a bit harsh on them before because i didn't realise how different their songs would sound from each other. coming from The Beginning and then straight to Clock Strikes was definitely jarring to say the least. I'm all for ballads anyways but (it might me only me) they don't hit hard unless you're already a fan.
      also can i ask what you mean by "their name said so"? unless this is a typo i would guess the complete opposite. i feel like a band called One Ok Rock would sound like the ONE genre they do is an OK version of ROCK. okay not really serious about that but with "rock" in the name i definitely have an idea on what to expect

    • @triplej8666
      @triplej8666 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      idk what he meant but the name "ONE OK ROCK" comes from "One O Clock" which was their practice time as a young band, since it was cheaper to rent practice spaces. There is no "L" sound in japanese so one ok rock is pronounced like "One oku roku" in japanese which sounds like one o clock. They usually just say ONE OK ROCK normally overseas nowadays though, since it's easier..@@compactrhythm

    React to No Scared and Re:make music video, both from their 2011 album, which is more post-hardcore and rock, then Answer Is Near and Koi No Aibou Kokoro No Cupido both live from Yokohama Stadium if you want them at their peak live
    (this concert are the reason they are so big in TH-cam reactions today, this concert has the band at 100% energy, crowd is amazing and awesome stage setup)
    those are some lesser known tracks compared to those you have reacted to which are mostly their famous hits. If you want more screams then Deeper Deeper at Yokohama. I think the Koi No Aibou Kokoro No Cupido or Kanzen Kankaku Dreamer at Yokohama showcase the best pure energy from the band, but really everything from that concert is just unreal, theres a full playlist of the Yokohama Concert here - th-cam.com/video/8EngOgkbbEE/w-d-xo.html
    If you wanna see the band have some fun and swap instruments then watch Paper Planes from 35xxxv 2015 tour, the version with subtitles. Its the band playing a new song and swapping instruments and engaging with the crowd and having some fun. It shows taka's great showmanship and crowd interaction. Its a bit over 10 minutes but still a great watch.

    he still can scream.
    fyi the scream & the double pedal thing that sounds like metal type of song in the end.... that's not on the studio version.. once again one of the reason why their live is better

    • @compactrhythm
      @compactrhythm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i get it now, the metal section was interesting too. i see why people suggest these versions although i havent heard the studio version of this song yet

    • @shicelle635
      @shicelle635 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree, there are arrangements they do in the live that you can’t get in the studio. For example the Make it Out Alive has no scream in the studio but Taka adds it in the live versions. Some songs are also played in acoustic or other genre in the live, they add other elements or twist in the lives. That is why we always recommend lives. And the insane crowd control of Taka is not to be missed. Studio versions are polished versions while live is raw and genuine.😊

    If you're more interested in heavy stuff, i highly recommend LIVE performances from Yokohama 2014 and Saitama Arena 35xxxv 2015, especially for these songs:
    - Deeper Deeper (Yokohama 2014)
    - No Scared (Yokohama 2014)
    - Liar (Saitama 2015)
    - One By One (Saitama 2015)
    Since Ambitions 2017, they have experimented many things, Eye of The Storm (2019) is the most pop album. But, they have said that the future albums are gonna be more rock and roll, back to their root, as you can see from "Make It Out Alive", their latest single
    Thanks for enjoying ONE OK ROCK🤘🏻

    After seeing your reaction, all I can say is that you should spend more time learning about OOR, (since you said you liked their songs) they are not the type of band that It can be easy to judge by just one or two songs, don't rush it. They have nearly 2 decades of professional experience, always perform live and perform nearly 100 shows each year around the world. And if you seriously follow them, you will understand what a "true musical path" is. You're still very young =] anyway, thank you for your reactions.

      Yeah I see people saying i shouldn't react to it if it isn't my type of music. Well maybe I shouldn't "react" to it if I think I'm not gonna like it but I initially liked it but never appreciated it which I think is more important so to those comments I say "nuh uh". I would like to find out more and can't waste another amazing band on being heard for the first time in private

    my advice for you ...as a reactor don't put hater as a title its kinda click bait, im 43 and im assuming your early 20's so am i a boomer ????? one ok rock seem to have a soft rock appeal ....also have a metal vibe .....i just found them , im a big the rose fan and BTS fan .....my daughter plays piano and violin we love music ,
    this group tbh have been the best soft rock group ive seen since seeing bon jovi live, def leopard live, and bands you haven't probably heard of
    if you were to grow your channel i would recommend watching a mini docu essay by boracity.....its completley different to the groups you react to , but the basic principles apply ......why you tube is a mess
    good luck

    Maybe the live performances you were reacting to earlier were a bit pop, cuz they were part of the Luxury Disease tour (which was quite poppy imo), so I think the other members' roles weren't highlighted enough (anw the frontman is admittedly gets more attention than the others most of the time that's sad but true). Check out other live performances (rather than LD tour), they're sick. Also they had a keyboard player on that tour, who was not a member of the band (he helped them with their songs). The band has only 4 members.
    Btw as other comments said, not everyone likes everything they react to so it's okay if you don't like it cuz they're not really your thing, but please don't rush to judge (like Taka and his hired band and stuffs)😅

  • @ぜなRTH
    @ぜなRTH ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I get why you think their live stuff is just "okay", because alot of fans glorify it alot, and im not saying its not worth its praise, its just that you need to fully appreciate the band as whole to fully enjoy it, i guess? The band prioritize a good melody rather than a flashy and complicated stuff, that maybe because the lack or instruments, and Toru (Lead Guitar) used to be the Rhythm Guitar and Rapper back in 2007-08ish when they were still 5man member.
    Anyway, pls react to

      yeah someone mentioned before about how Toru needs to play rhythm and lead at the same time and i guess i never noticed that most bands i listen to have at least 2 guitar players so the one guitarist needs to prioritise rhythm over lead. but i definitely see the hype a lot more now that i've heard some real energetic songs. i said towards the end that this live is exactly what puts a good first impression on someone because it is putting on a real show rather than just singing and playing to please the fans. it felt like my marvel movie loving friend was trying to get me into marvel movies by watching infinity war first

    I think people just enjoy an actual band that preforms studio quality live. I’ve been to a lot of concerts where the bands just aren’t the same sound quality as in the studios versions. It’s like a breath of fresh air. I also have some live songs downloaded instead of studio version just cause I can hear the instruments and vocals better.
