    I loved this interview and will now check our Tourabounga’s channel! It’s always lovely to hear about the great parts of moving and living abroad, but hearing personal accounts of the difficulties is really useful. It helps you think about things that might not have occurred to you otherwise. Thank you!

    Michael hit it right on about getting to know yourself. I did a few years in Prague and can attest that that discipline built from lack of conveniences make you appreciate the world around you. Also, props for slowing down! Great interviewer and interviewees.

      Very easy. Portuguese people are extremely welcoming. More than they should really being the rest of the world is not that reciprocal towards Portuguese abroad. Europeans are quite welcoming in general, not just Portuguese. Speaking from my own experience living in the USA and different European countries.

    You are on the mark there. I had a very bad experience with Atlantico. Called for appointment got a week later appointment to go to bank and there is no poointment in their system. They refused tomopen ac without appointment. Then got another one asked us to be there early morning again same.. and then we waited for hrs and still no appointmnt in system. Then we thought if this bank cordination with call center and bank personel is so bad then better not open ac here. Thank god we did not open ac there. Thank you for sharing this will help many!

    Josh, great interview, v lively, nice, happy-go-lucky people who exactly tell the ups and downs, the joys, their learning experience even if things turn sour or ugly, and be in it immersed with the Portuguese folks, lifestyle, slow it down and take it in strides , that sounds fun, lots of fun & laughter you bet. Loved it. One question, how can we go for, accept a lease without stating we have a pet dog , is it practical, doesn’t it amount to breaking rules, what if caught and facing legal action..

    • @Tourabunga
      @Tourabunga 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a law I believe that landlords cannot discriminate against tenants for having a dog. Everyone has a dog in these places. It's a big effort to take you to court for having a dog. They may simply ask for a deposit or, better yet not care. But they always prefer to rent to non-dog owners so you will run into a lot of no's when confessing upfront in searching for furnished apartments. The things we've been told on our apartment hunt have been ridiculous. Each landlord is different, of course, but in the end, it's all about making money for the landlord and protecting their furnishings/floorings. That's all they seem to be concerned over.

Money solves everything and with these people they have never struggled in their life... All i can think of is the word "smug".
